Très agréable

La proximité de la plage privative était top avec les matelas à disposition Le restaurant au dessus tenu par les gérants était très bon et l'accueil était souriant et chaleureux Le Raki nous a été offert à notre arrivée

Unterkunft direkt am Meer

Die Unterkunft liegt an einer sehr ruhigen Straße. Einmal rüber und man ist direkt am hauseigenen Strand. Über den Zimmern liegt direkt das Restaurant, von welchem man einen tollen Blick auf das Meer hat. Der Inhaber macht alles selber, es ist alles mit Liebe gestaltet. Parkplätze gibt's direkt vor der Tür.

Das Bad ist sehr albanisch, sprich es ist nachm Duschen alles nass. Aber daran muss man sich in Albanien gewöhnen.

Just amazing!

The Hotel is literally by the beach. Just one step out of your room and you’re in the water :) Papi and his wife are just beautiful people - welcoming and so so helpful. The breakfast is big and very satisfying! The view from the restaurant upstairs is breathtaking. The hotel is idyllic, plants everywhere and everything self built by papi. Orikum is a quiet and peaceful area - perfect to relax! We would def come back to this amazing place. Thank you!

The bathroom was a little bit dirty and the shower is not separated which means the bathroom gets wet after the shower - HOWEVER the room and hotel is perfect for the price!

Ok for one night.

Location just near the beach. Interesting room.

Bathroom was very unconfort, parking place behind the house was terrible (barking dogs on the leash). Behind the accomodation there is a lake and a lot of mosquitos especially in the evening. There is no view from the room - the view in the back side on the many unnecessary things. Also there was smell of desinfection detergents in the room. Restaurant is so so.

For us it was not worth the money.

The location.

I booked this hotel because I read on booking that the food is excellent and that Papi and the staff is really nice. Well, Papi and his wife were not there that day and the lunch we ordered was not worth the money. My two kids ordered fried calamari and I thought they gave them half a portion each. And they were dripping in oil. When I asked the daughter she just shrug her shoulders. And it wasn’t cheap at all :( The next day Papi and his wife were there, they were very friendly. Breakfast was not abundant, but ok. Maybe we just had bad luck with the day.

Very, very quiet fairly basic accomodation with a fantastic beachside location. Great value for mone

Papi and family were extremely friendly and helpful. When my partner needed medical attention he personally drove us to the medical centre. Couldn't have been kinder. Family members are always on hand to help and Papi loves a chat. Beachfront location was perfect.. Be warned though it is extremely quiet! This is not a criticism, after all you choose Orikum beach for the peace and quiet But we were there in early June and it rained a couple of days, and without a car, there really is absolutely nothing to do or any place to go. There's not even a shop. With good weather it is a delightful, backpackery sort of place to stay. Papi had a couple of electric bikes which we borrowed, and which was fun. Although once you've cycled into Orikum itself and along the beach, that's about it. The room was somewhat cramped, but had everything you needed. The bed was very comfortable, which is the most important thing.

We were hoping to go to the nearby archeological site and nature reserve. But it is part of a naval base, and without a car it is completely impossible to enter. There are no signs to warn of this restriction but the guards were absolutely adamant. A disappointment. The room and breakfast were pretty basic. This again is not a criticism, it is really excellent value for money, just don't go there expecting 3*+ luxury accomodation.

Absolute beach frontage and bike friendly!

A quaint seaside property with a really lovely family feel! It has absolute beach frontage so you can’t beat the view. We arrived much earlier than our check in time but they accommodated us without any problem! The facility has a restaurant and bar and the family cooks everything onsite. We were travelling on bicycles and were able to keep them secure. We sat up in the restaurant and read our books and played cards and the weather turned a little too cold for the beach. The family did not mind how long we were there. We were even serenaded by the very talented staff member (possible a daughter) who played beautiful piano. We loved our room with the stone bed which the owner made himself - just watch your toes and shins when getting in or out during the night.

The bathroom shower has no screen or curtain so the entire bathroom floor gets wet following a shower, however this is very common throughout Albania so we are getting used to it.

Fabulous, relaxed vibe. Great people and great value

This place needs more than 10 on the rating score - especially for location and host! It’s just delightful. Wonderful family, views watching the sunset, great food (and wine), some local walks and amazing value. Looking forward to going back to see Papi and the family already.

Good

Family run hotel with personal service. 10m from the beach. From previously reviews I knew it would not be a standard commercial hotel which suited me. Good value for money.

Nothing I did not like but some minor things that could be improved a little. The lack of a shower enclosure was not an issue. It just means accepting the floor round the toilet may well stay wet. I have found the same in other places.

i loved how papi was ready for everything, i recommend this place, was there off season and they were ready for us with everything ,excellent food traditional , very lovely and pet friendly ..papis daughter is a great musician and she will play for you some nice classic piano parts ..a very cozy place!

Unique, home-style, small hotel with restaurant

This is a family run operation. Papi the owner is a gem. I made memories staying up talking with him and his friends and drinking his raki. Breakfast in the morning is provided and delicious. The small cook/clean staff are mostly or all related to Papi and are incredibly kind. There is a restaurant upstairs so once you arrive, you don't need to leave for food. Great prices. All home made. Delcious house red wine and raki are made on a farm up the road toward the mountains. I feel like I made friends from a single overnight stay. This place is a simple accomodation (nothing fancy), but it's across the street from the beach with nothing to block the view. Not only that, there are mountains surrounding the place. Very laid back. Easy access from the main road. Traffic is not a problem. I will go back if I ever get to return to Albania.

Lovely Budget Hotel in Orikum Located by the Beach

Very helpful and friendly staff. We had booked two rooms but when we arrived it turned out that only one was available. The owner quickly organised a second room in an adjacent building, which turned out to be even better than the first one (e.g. it had a decent TV). In the evening we were treated to rakiya (home-made grape vodka) by that kind gentleman. Breakfast was typical as in other Albanian hotels but the coffee was very good. The hotel is located just across the beach in a quiet area. No problem with finding the parking place.

A musty smell could be sensed in our room on the ground floor, probably caused by poor ventilation drawing out moisture.

Amazing dinner, they lit the fire to grill our fish just for us. Great hosts with a lovely view from the eating area. Decent room with new mattress.

Best place to start our holiday in Albania!

The Authentic hospitality made us feel at home. The fact that there os a beautiful covered terrace to have breakfast and dinner on with amazing products. The place is family run which is a super nice exception between all the resorts further away in Vlore. And of course, the never ending raki on the hoise was great to digest it all!

Stay and enjoy

It is a step back in time to when the world was less complicated. It was a breath of fresh air, run by a family who are very warm and welcoming and more than accommodating. A must to visit for those travellers who seek unique and variable experiences . Give pappy our love if you stay

Quiet area with friendly host

We were warmly welcomed by the host, we asked for early breakfast because we needed to catch a plane and it was ok for them. The host had a chat with us in the evening, all people were so nice and friendly. The room had a bit specific decoration but it was sufficient and clean. I can imagine this place as holiday paradise for somebody who wants just peace and quiet. There are not many things what to do in the evening. Just sit on the terrace of the restaurant and have a drink or dinner or go for a walk, the centre is quite far.

Very cute place directly at the beach, very nice host who gifted us as much Raki as we could drink and very good food. We had a really good time there! I would come back.
