A haven of a place that was attractive to the eye and unforgettable to the heart.

It was exactly what was promised. Hosted by Abi with such warmth and special touches. Our room was welcoming from the moment we entered. It was an oasis, really, and rather tastefully decorated. You can see the effort. Our host was very, very helpful with where to go and what to do, like walking routes, eateries etc. She took care to give special instructions how to get there and made sure we had a place to park. Unforgettable. If we ever returned to Cotswold, this would be our base. (We had rented a car which was a short bus ride away from Stroud train station. We had taken the train in from Stratford, London.) From The Hidden House, we drove to many scenic spots like Bourton-on-the-water, Stow-on-the-wold and even as far as Oxford!

Wonderful mini break in Stroud

Great location, a 15 min walk down the hill into town. Abi the host is lovely, very welcoming and has great local knowledge which is very helpful and her two Basset’s are so chilled and friendly. We had forgotten our dog’s lead and Abi kindly lent us one of hers, which was above and beyond. Our room was perfect, the bed very comfortable with a choice of pillows and the shower was great.

Fabulous! Would definitely return. A real home from home.

Really great self service continental style breakfast though the host also offered to get additional items if needed. Room was perfect- bed comfy & en suite well appointed. Lovely touches, like tea & coffee facilities & wine. Host was helpful & friendly & the doggy hosts were a joy! A real bonus if you are like me & would love a dog but aren’t yet in the position to have one! Would definitely recommend!

My wife and I had such an enjoyable experience at the Ridden House. Abi is an excellent hostess and genuinely cares about the guests. We were welcomed warmly and were made to feel right at home. Our rooms were very nice and clean too. Lovely bathroom and the showers were amazing. We highly recommend.

This is the third time we have stayed at The Hidden House and each time our stay has been perfect. Abi and her Basset Hounds, Barkers and Gerti, are wonderful hosts; everything feels like home from home. The bedrooms are exceptionally clean and very comfortable and the house is beautiful. Abi has a huge amount of local knowledge so she can give you lots of ideas for walks, places to visit and local eateries. Breakfast is in a relaxed atmosphere with plenty of choice. I would strongly recommend a visit to The Hidden House.

Will definitely stay her if back in this direction

Everything was fantastic. Abi was a pleasure to deal with as were Berkeley and Gertie who happily greeted us each morning. The bed was like sleeping on a cloud. Best sleep in years. Breakfast was fine and lots of it especially some lovely homemade flapjacks. Home from home. Greta recommendations for local pubs and restaurants. Try out the Crown and Scepter...friendly staff and customers.

The Hidden Gem

Abi's place is an absolute gem! First things first, breakfast time was a real treat. Abi knows how to spoil her guests with a spread of light breakfast treats which is needed when you’re on long walks. But let me tell you, her homemade flapjacks were the real show-stoppers! Now, onto the room – it was something else! The bed was like sleeping on a cloud. I mean, seriously, it was like sleeping on a cloud made of marshmallows. And Abi's the kind of host that goes the extra mile. We brought our pup with us, and she'd set up this whole doggy haven with a mat, blanket, water bowl, and treats – talk about pet-friendly hospitality! The room was spacious, and I even managed to get some work done while enjoying the awesome view of lush greenery outside. It was the perfect spot to unwind and stay productive at the same time. Now, let me rave about the bathroom – it totally deserves its own paragraph, no doubt about it! I swear, it felt like we were in a fancy hotel with that shower and bathtub combo. Not to mention all the fancy amenities that came with it. Talk about pure luxury, my friend! All in all, Abi's place is a winner. From the scrumptious breakfast to the cozy room and the swanky bathroom, the hidden house ticks all the right boxes. If you're ever in the area, do yourself a favour and book a stay at this little slice of heaven. Trust me, you won't regret it!

A little gem

A lovely and helpful host, nothing was too much trouble, a beautiful room, a good place for a base to explore rhe area.

It is situated at the top of a hill so you need to be fit to walk to the local amenities.

Great weekend, relaxing, lovely home and outstanding hospitality.

Great location for what we wanted to do. It was a short weekend break for a friend and I; we wanted to explore somewhere new. Accommodation/room was great - just what we had asked for, and very comfortable. All the hosts - Abi, Berkley, and Gertie were all excellent at making us welcome. Breakfast was spot on, as were the special flapjacks - just scrumptious! The decor was also amazing. We left feeling very relaxed having been made very welcome. Would stay there again if we are in the area.

Nothing to suggest on this one - great value for money and a great welcome.

This is an ideal B&B.

This questionnaire can’t accept to Japanese language.so, I write it down by English. This BB is very clean. and the owner is very kind , friendly and having concern. A room of us is like a luxury hotel.’s. also, the owner gave us a lots of information we wan’t know. With owner’s dogs and neighbor cats are pretty. It’s a livery BB. If we have a chance, we want to return again.

A great cheap 9.5-rated ensuite base for days of Cotswold exploring

A large comfortable well-appointed room with large top quality ensuite. Everything was good. The WiFi worked well. Continental breakfasts were good.

On very outskirts of town so took several small roads to get anywhere.

Abi was incredibly kind and knowledgeable about the area, made very considerate arrangements for one of us being vegan with many breakfast options, pub suggestions and areas to visit. House is warm and comfortable, lovely dog (that won't disturb you) and is friendly to spend time with.

Abi the host a delight (and communications were great), as was her Basset hound Berkeley. The house is lovely and there's also a good communal space to lounge about in, or work.

Relaxing, comfortable break by the Cotswolds

Great location. Clear and comprehensive information sent by the host in advance. Warm welcome with tea and flapjacks. Clean and comfortable room. Flexible for our early breakfast needs on first day, with lovely fresh fruit and range of cereals, breads, preserves and yoghurt. Our host was attentive and clearly concerned for our welfare with great recommendations for dinner venues. Thank you Abi and Berkeley the Basset Hound!

We were unsure how the shared bathroom for our room option would work prior to arriving, but our worries were unfounded, it was absolutely fine, very clean and other users very respectful of each other.

Room was well appointed and spacious. Abi (the owner) was very knowledgeable and thoughtful as she made it a point to remember my wife's birthday with some cake, balloons and champers. The breakfast was very nice and just the right amount. It was great to visit the Hidden House.

Only thing that would've improved things would be a tv, as I like to watch the news in the morning and a movie of an evening. Everything else was excellent.

Stylish, spotless and beds to die for. Abi and Berkeley have a special place 🐾❤️

From the first welcome by Abi, and Berkeley, to our waving goodbye, we loved our stay. Everything was spotless, tasteful and comfortable - especially the bed. I don’t think I’ve slept better anywhere else. Abi is a wonderful ambassador for Stroud and the surrounding areas. What she doesn’t know is not worth knowing. Whatever you fancy doing, Abi can advise. Add to this the simply gorgeous Berkeley the Basset and we were in heaven! A gentle hound who acted like a proper gentleman with our 2 visiting Bassets! Thank you for a cracking stay xxxx

Happy and relaxing

Truly wonderful host, looked after us and made us very welcome. Berkeley the dog was super chilled and sweet. Both me and my boyfriend are planning to go back in the next month or so for some home away from home time.
