They knew about a broken window two of them.as a matter fact, prior to our arrival. Also, this place is only air conditioned in the bedrooms, not in any other part of the house, and it is very hot. So you are responsible if you go over a certain energy limit and with Broken windows that meant we had to turn off all air every time we left. Also no dryer when things are so humid! Only a washer. Bring your own detergent. Very lightly equipped kitchen. Nothing extra.

The pictures don't do this fantastic location justice. The apartment is on the first floor, absolutely gorgeous with spectacular ocean views. The apartment is well-appointed, with all the amenities you may need while on vacation. It's also within walking distance of many fabulous restaurants and activities. We will definitely be coming back.

The property is beautiful and in an amazing location. I felt very safe there. Fun to see the wildlife in and out including birds and geckos. Boats coming and going from the island. We had everything we needed to make all our food there. We would recommend the grocery store about 10 mins away for better prices than the local one but nonetheless it was very convenient having one within walking distance.

We rented this property with my children's Dutch Oma so we could spend a week together. The weather was perfect, the unit was nicely sized so that we did not feel cramped and there was plenty to do with in walking distance. I felt safe letting my teens explore on their own. Everyone was extremely friendly and the food and drinks at the nearby restaurants were delicious.

Beautiful property with super views
The property was more beautiful than depicted in the fotos.. family reunion with 6 of us staying comfortably .. under 10 min walk to the Jan thiel beach with lots of amenities. Pink Beheer property management was extremely attentive when needed. Owner Berge also very responsive and helpful.

It all start with great communication even before we arrive and when we arrive Manon was waiting for us in this beautiful appartment. It is very clean, spacious, comfortable with everything in the house what you need. We didn't mis the clothes dryer ;) In the morning it is very nice waking up with the lovely birds in front of the house. Walking distance of very nice beach cafe/restaurant Zest with very nice staff and food. The older kids love to go to Zanzibar on Saturdayevening. Thank you very much that we could stay in this perfect house. We love to come back soon.

A large, roomy condo with a fantastic ocean view
The spacious home is in a quiet part of a gated community. Beach clubs, bars, restaurants and a great supermarket were all in short walking distance.
The house has plenty of kitchenware and gadgets along with a grill outside.
The air-conditioning was almost never needed as the cross breeze through the house is amazing.
We would be excited to stay again. The place was as described but the photos do it no justice! It was everything we hoped for.

We absolutely loved this home! So comfortable and extremely relaxed. Walked to the beach everyday and grocery store. Monde was so nice and helpful when we arrived. She guided us to the house as we were lost coming from the airport. Only need the AC at night, so don’t let that detour you from staying at this home.

Safe peaceful beautiful
The area is an oasis . Fabulous restaurants everywhere .beautiful beaches . Renting a car is essential as public transit is inconsistant .
Suggest you meet Jaanchie at Westpunt for a warm welcome and a unique meal .
Our Boca Gentil Appartment was spacious and well equipped but kitchen and master bathroom badly need more air circulation.
We stayed for a month and know are way around this maze of roads fairly well . We always felt very safe here .

Lovley place!
We had a great time in Jan Thiel and staying at Boca Gentil. Everything was clean and organized, with environmentally friendly features. like recycling, using filtered ocean water. They also had a mosquito trap built in on the deck. Supermarket is in with walking distance with reasonable prices, and bus stop outside the gated community. Our own pool and lounge chars at the beach. The restaurants was very good, with a very well rounded options, plus take out pizza and sushi places. A marina where you can take boat tours from and bus tours comes right to your property, and a rental car agency. we will defiantly come back and stay at this property, check in and check out was very smooth and we could stay until 1pm on check out since we had a late flight. Beds was very comfy, the kitchen had everything you needed.

Boca Gentil is a beautiful location in Curacao
The condo was clean, well equipped with wonderful beds and linens. We were met by management who answered all our questions. Our condo was within walking distance of the beach, bars, and restaurants all of which were amazing! We will definitely come back.

Wonderful Stay
Our stay at this villa was nearly perfect! I would actually give it 4 1/2 stars if possible. The house was quite comfortable. We loved the open air concept, and the breeze blowing through made the AC units unnecessary! We walked to the gym and grocery store every morning and then down to the beach in the afternoons. Jan Thiel Beach was beautiful and not crowded at all which was a concern. The only things that would have made the house absolutely perfect, were more updated bathrooms and a clothes dryer. Although it sounds as if dryers are not available in many homes due to the cost of electricity. We would definitely stay here again if we return to Curacao

Great Property & Area!
I recently stayed at Berge & Yohanna's property for a week with 4 of my close friends. The property is as lovely as it looks from the photos! It has a beautiful view and there is easy and quick access to the main pathway and swimming pool.
When we arrived at the airport, 3 of us took a taxi to the property and split the cost of $50 USD. Two other friends who traveled from other areas however signed up for round trip shuttle service beforehand and it saved them from having to take a cab and paying by themselves.
The cab driver graciously let us use his mobile to contact Nynke, the property manager, to inform her we had arrived and to meet us at the property. She arrived just a minute or two after us and was great about walking us through the property, answering questions and explaining further details. The living room sliding doors when opened created a beautiful view and allowed fresh air into the property while we were home. We did not utilize the air conditioning during the day...only at night while we slept. The beds were comfortable, each came equipped with mosquito netting, and both the shower pressure and temperature was good. The pantry had a washing machine, pool accessories and there were beach towels/passes provided for each guest.
We did not rent a car during our stay. At the beginning of the gate entrance (which is approximately a 10 minute walk) there is a market that had everything we needed for the kitchen/property. A few minutes walk past the market was a small variety of restaurants to choose from and the Jan Thiel beach. Also, not far from the gate (few minutes walk) is the bus stop. We took advantage of the bus several times...to take us to Punda/Willemstad and also to the Mambo Beach area. However, if you choose to rent a car while there, just around the corner from the market is a car rental company.
We had a phenomenal trip: the island, area and property were all to our liking! Also, before our trip I contacted Berge several times with numerous questions and he promptly replied and answered each time! We hope to return someday!!

Beautiful property, perfect location
We spent 7 nights here in April 2017 and it was lovely. Beautiful views from the patio, the grounds of Boca Gentil are very well maintained, the house was spotless and comfortable and very pleasant. The property managers were extremely prompt and helpful as well. It is about a 10 minute walk to the beach, but there are a lot of amenities at the beach area - multiple restaurants and bars, lots of different beach sections for hanging out, volleyball courts, water activity rental shops, etc. There are also lots of people there and it feels a little touristy. We rented a car at the airport and I would definitely recommend it - it allowed us to explore all the beaches we wanted to see on the island and escape from the crowds as much as we wanted. There is also a nice small swimming pool just a few steps from the unit, with lounge chairs and a shaded table set. We spent many afternoons there after sightseeing all morning and it was fantastic. There are lots of birds and little geckos or lizards around the landscaping so there was always interesting birdsong happening and fun activity to watch in the bushes.

Boca Gentil, Popagayo Beach Casa Vandernak
We were very pleased when we arrived. The property exceeded our expectations as it was bigger than anticipated and fit into the surroundings perfectly. We were thrilled with the outstanding landscaping surrounding the entire Boca Gentil properties. This landscaping was impeccable as were the buildings and villas within the gates.
The property came with all amenities many more than needed and I was thrilled to find coffee available in the kitchen suitable for the machine provided (I did replace it). The owners and managers were the perfect hosts insuring our satisfaction from the time we left to the time we returned.
The surrounding area was second to none and every bit as beautiful as anywhere I have been in the past. Popagayo Beach the shops and Jan Thiel met and exceeded our hope as well. The beach and facilities were everything anyone could have expected. We were so pleased to find Zanzibar the restaurant at Jan Thiel beach attached to Popagayo beach allowing us to relax and enjoy a drink and very reasonable meal. The location of the Zanzibar restaurant was very handy when coming off the local bus being immediately below the stop. This provided much needed rehydration after a day of exploring the local Town.
We made use of the local bus because there were two stops only minutes from the gate to Boca Gentil. The fare of 1.70 Gilders didn't dissuade us and the ride was actually fun. When I arrived in Willemstad and walked throughout Punda I thoroughly enjoyed myself. The colourful stores and narrow streets made me feel very at home especially when I found the only MacDonald Cafe'. The Iguana Café turned into our favourite rest stop while in Punda. It offered good food and libations while you watched the swing bridge open and close. We both found it a very interesting old fort town with much to offer.
We stayed for a week and by the time we came home we were discussing our next visit to Curacao and the Villa at Boca Gentil. It was perfect!

Awesome in Every Way
Four of us arrived in Curacao from Ontario on Jan 15 for 3 weeks. Right from the beginning of our booking last spring, nothing could have been better. Never having been to Curacao before, we were able to email Berge with many questions which he was able to answer fully and quickly. The property management rep, was at the villa to welcome and show us around. Of all the properties within this gated community, Casa Vandernak is by far the most breath-taking of all. The unobstructed view of the ocean and the flowers right at the edge of the deck make this place THE NICEST of any of the properties in the area. All amenities necessary for a great vacation are at hand. One note - heed comments from Curacao Tourism about bugs/mosquitoes! They are much smaller than those we have in Ontario; you don't usually see them and don't notice you have been bitten until sometime later. If you are a mosquito magnet, take along a big bottle of Deet repellent and effective "after-bite" cream. All in all, we had a great time.

beauitful and breathtaking
Berge and Yohanna's vaction home in Jan Thiel Curacao is absolutely perfect. It felt like home but only a lot nicer. There was everything you would need and more. the property managers were fantastic they helped us arrange taxi's and provided us with helpful tips on what to see and where to dine. We would absolutely recomment this property to friends and family.
The Zanzibar restaurant on the beach has delicious pizza like no other and their catch of the day was also yummy. In downtown Williamstad we had lunch at the plain cafe it was also one of our favourites.

Boca Gentil in Jan Thiel is best place to be. Supermarket is close by and if you feel like going to restaurant is only few min away. House is also very good equiped and we enjoyed morning coffee on veranda with lovely birds. We enjoyed also the nice sunsets from the veranda and cool down in nearby pool. We would surely be back again!!!

Excellent stay!
Our family of 5 stayed here for a week and it was incredible. The views are breathtaking from the front deck where we enjoyed our morning coffee each day. The pool is literally steps from the deck, with the beautiful beaches only a short walk away. Berge (owner) provided all the information we needed to have a terrific, stress-free stay. The manager was waiting for us when we arrived and gave us a full orientation to the unit and the area. I would definitely return here again!

This is a beautiful condo on a beautiful island. The pool is literally steps away, and if you prefer sand there are two infinity pools with sandy surrondings just a short walk at Papagayo.

Fabulous vacation stay
Beautiful place, beautiful location and overall an Amazing stay. Rental staff (manon) and owner, Berge, were all incredibly helpful (eg., we got lost arriving very late at night trying to initially find the place- manon talked us through getting there by phone and we were so grateful for her help with two tired young kids in the back seat!). The place itself is exactly as pictured. Clean, spacious, fully stocked, artfully decorated. Every morning we sat out in front deck and looked at the gorgeous view. Walking distance to resort area with beach access and more pools, bars etc. totally kid friendly and our family thoroughly enjoyed having fun in the unit pool and then taking a stroll to the beach and indulging in infinity and other pools. Grocery store just nearby- so convenient. We are definitely looking forward to another curaçao vacation and in this unit in particular again!

Great location, views and price!
Great location, fabulous views! We drove all over Curaçao and this is the place to stay! Close to shops, restaurants and nice beaches. My two sisters, youngest daughter and best friend accompanied me to celebrate my 60th birthday. It was probably all of our favorite vacation ever. Snorkeling on the southwest side, eating, drinking, shopping and laughing - a girls dream trip!
Mosquitoes were not nice, but the owner has citronella candles on the deck. Need new bed pillows, but all in all, a great place! We'll definitely be back!

We stayed for 11 days and we regret that we couldn't stay longer but unfortunately we had to go back to work. Everything was working very well, from start to end. The few times we needed support from the property managers it was excellent! The apartment was very good, all we needed was there.
First we thought that we would manage without a car but quite soon we found out that we were wrong. We wanted to see more of the island and then it was of course very convenient to have a rental car. I think it was easy to drive on Curacao and we visited a lot of beaches along the coast. Our favourite turned out to be santa Maria even though all beaches were good.
We choose not to go to Klein Curacao due to the windy weather. We visited sea academy and had a swim with the dolphins which was nice :)
All in all - a wonderful place, easy living, no bugs or dangerous animals, perfect temperature on shore and in the sea, nice snorkling. Highly recommended!

My husband and I, along with our 3 year old daughter and both of our moms, stayed here for a week! Everything was exactly as expected--beautiful, clean, spacious, relaxing and comfortable. The pool is a few steps from the rental and there were no stairs to climb :) It is close to the supermarket, beach, some high end restaurants and the bus stop to the Sea Aquarium, Willemstaad and other sites. I'd highly recommend going into town and finding some local (less touristy) restaurants to eat at since the nearby beach restaurants can be a bit pricey.
The Boca Gentil complex felt very safe and was very quiet. A perfect place for our family to have some down time together to celebrate my birthday after a long winter. Berge, the owner, as well as the property management company was a pleasure to deal with and always answered our questions. They even provided us with a small charcoal BBQ and a high chair for our kid.
We'd highly recommend it and would come back again!

The owners and property managers were extremely friendly and helpful throughout the entire process.
The pictures match the place perfect and it is very quiet and relaxing. It's in the best area of the Island and very secure with multiple restaurants in walking distance, with active beaches and amazing snorkeling right in front of Zanzibar.
The only reason I am not giving the unit 5 stars is that I felt that the linens and bedding could have been a bit more softer and upscale. Also the custom in Curacao / Dutch culture seems to be to not provide much basic accommodations where many American travelers do expect some basic essentials (dish soap, hand soap, paper towels, Windex etc). I travel to a lot of remote Islands and the small touches like soaps and essentials can really make the difference.
Regardless, I hope the owners provide some of these as it makes your arrival much easier as the Grocery Store nearby might be closed.
Other than those suggestions, I would recommend this Villa and would definitely lease it again while Visiting Curacao. The owners and managers are extremely nice and were a pleasure to work with.

The apartment is fantastic. We stayed for the first week in February and had a perfect view of the sunset at night, right next to the water. It doesn't get any better than this.
The apartment has a well stocked kitchen (plates, dishes, cookware); only thing missed was a few extra plastic cups to bring some cocktails to the pool (no glass allowed) and a reusable bag to carry groceries from the store.
They even had an outlet converter for the microwave/toaster which was handy since we did not think to bring one ourselves for the European style outlets.
Only 5 to 10 minute walking distance to the beach, restaurants, and casino.
It's worth renting a car to get to the more natural beaches on the west side of the island and exploring downtown Willemstad.
Will definitely return!

I stayed with my family (wife and 3years old daughter) and my parents in law at this wonderful apartment for the whole month of January. The apartment is situated in a gated area close to Jan Thiel beach. At this beach you have a few Restaurants and the feeling that you are staying in St. Tropez in August. Some like this, others don’t – we did.
The Apartment is just as it is described. Nice, clean, and perfectly located for holidays in Curacao. (Even though renting a car is recommended in order to visit other beaches and Willemstad). The views from the terrace and the sunsets are spectacular. There was really nothing missing and we have had a great time. I also like to mention the great communication with the owner and the management of the apartment. When we were asking for a barbeque grill (which was missing and might be something to consider for future guests?) we got one within one day. We also arranged a cleaning service with the management once a week – great service including the xchange of all the towels. One thing that the owner needs to review is the terrace with the wooden floor and the wooden table – they look rather used and need a refurbishment.
Close to the Apartment (like a ten minute easy walk) is a big grocery store with all the things necessary (and more!) Next to the mentioned grocery store is a gym where you can buy day, week and two week passes - everything new and very nice.
All in all - a great place, a very nice, clean, functional, perfectly located apartment with spectacular view and great service from the owner and the management.
