This property worked great for our two families. We weren’t there much as spent all opening hours skiing at Mt Snow but had plenty of space to sit around in the evening and talk and relax eating pizza after our long days! They were great about communication before and during our stay.

The farmhouse was perfect for a couple of nights away. Our group spent a great deal of time around the fireplace at night and spent the day enjoying the view from the porch and grounds. We took advantage of the brewery and pizza that was no more than a 10 minute drive from the property. Grocery store was equally close and convenient. Owners provided all the charcoal for the grill and made it so we didn’t have to think about anything. The way vacation should be. Highly recommend if you are looking for privacy but at the same time want to be close to amenities.

This place was amazing. We were even allowed to check in a little early since we got up to VT a little earlier than expected. Much more spacious than the pictures led on to. The upstairs had 4 bedrooms and there was a bedroom off the stairwell downstairs. The living room had an amazing fire place and room for all to sit and relax. Specifics and directions were clear and consistent. It’s the perfect distance from downtown Wilmington and MT Snow. We would definitely consider staying here again!

This place is making it perfect getaway to rest and relax after a day at the slopes which are just 30 minutes away. Our group felt like being at grandma’s house. Very comfortable stay with great views. Thank you Effie for making us feel welcome and being available whenever we need it. Very highly recommend John’s farmhouse and definitely we will stay there again.

This is our second year enjoying all that the farmhouse has to offer. Our group felt right at home once again. Yoga on the deck each morning, wiffle ball games in the meadow, sitting around the bonfire each night, meals at the picnic table looking at the mountains. Just the best place to convene and relax together as a family. Thank you, Effie, for making us feel welcomed and valued. This spot is very easy to love.

Wonderful!
We had a great weekend at John's. Farm. Easy communication with the host. Beautiful surroundings with amazing views and sunsets. Fun things to do in the area. We were a group of 6, but we could have easily had 4 more people join us. Highly recommend John's Farmhouse.

Great weekend stay
Like going back in time. Everything is authentic but not pretentious or fussy just cozy. Extraordinary view and very private. We rent farm houses or log cabins every year in VT and Upstate NY and the consensus was this one was the best. The town of Wilmington is small and charming with several very good restaurants. The only improvement needed is that there should be chairs/chaises etc on the deck to help enjoy the view

Amazing view of the mountains in a great property
This is a very nice and well equipped property, we stayed there this fall, two families with young children, there is lot of space outside for the children to play, the house is very comfortable, the property is huge and we stayed there exploring and playing the whole time, we enjoyed the fireplace. It has a fire pit as well. Everything was great, the kitchen is well equipped, the only thing that should be improved is the grill, it was too rusty to be properly cleaned, but we were able to buy one of those small and portable grills in a hardware store nearby, grilling some meat while enjoying the awesome view of the mountains is an experience to remember. The host is great, great communication and she is always friendly and kind. Very recommended.

A truly special place
This is one of the most unique properties I've stayed at via VRBO. The farmhouse itself is adorable - the decor is fascinating, and it has everything you could need for your trip. It's restored enough to be perfectly comfortable - the showers were more relaxing even than the ones at home, and the thermostats were spot on and easy to use - but it's got LOTs of antique flair and interesting details. I live in an older house myself, and I know how difficult it can be to keep everything clean - yet John's farmhouse is pristine. The furnishings are also great - the mattresses were perfect and we all slept really, really well there.
I'm just not sure if the house or the location is the best part. You feel like you're on a remote farm in the woods, and the night sky is incredibly dark. Our first night there was clear and almost moon-less, so the stargazing was amazing. By day, though, even though it looks like you're all alone out there, it's just about a 6 minute drive to a good sized supermarket and another 2 min to the Mt Snow valley shops and restaurants. We loved waking up every morning to the view - both from inside the house and from the back porch.
Management was very responsive and helpful, though we didn't really need anything during our trip - it was all right there. We had a great long weekend escape, and will definitely want to stay here again the next time we're in southern Vermont!

Quaint lodging; spectacular views!
This was our destination for our annual cousins' getaway, and we couldn't have been more pleased. The house was beautifully appointed with large living room and huge deck. But what captivated our whole party was the breathtaking views of the mountains. We started our day looking at the view from the deck and ended every night with that view from the fire in the fire pit. Everything we wanted to do was so close; swimming, blueberry picking, shopping. It may have been our best getaway yet. Thank you to the owner and family for making it so easy to enjoy Vermont!

A slice of heaven
John's Farmhouse was a spectacular property. The house was charming and had plenty of space for our group. But we didn't spend much time inside because the view was breathtaking. The family said it may have been the best place we've been for our annual cousins' get together. The managing family member was accommodating and easy to get a hold of for questions during our stay. Want to make it our yearly destination.

Vacation house
We were a family of 8. The home was very spacious. Everyone had their own bedroom! Mount Snow was a short distance away and the skiing was great. Plenty of snow! We made a snow luge off the back deck and my grandson had a ball. The livingroom and big screen tv was a great place to gather after dinner. The views were beautiful. We all had a great week! Thanks!

Incredible house, incredible host!!!!
The house was great. We stayed at the farm house for NYE ski trip and had an incredible time. The house has plenty of space to accommodate parties of all sizes. We really enjoyed the large living room and fire place with an incredible view of the mountains. The kitchen was stocked with everything necessary to cook each meal. Very close to a local super market. John was a great host and was very responsive from the moment we arrived until we left. Inclement weather was also not an issue, it snowed each night of our stay and each morning the roads had been plowed and salted early enough for us to get out on the mountain. The house is conveniently located a couple minutes from MT Snow along with various shopping and places to eat. This is the ideal place to stay on your next ski trip to Vermont!!!

Another great weekend on the farm!!
We have a tradition of "camping" in the fall going back over 21 years. Over the years we have gone from tents in the woods, hurricanes and first snow to relaxing, well stocked cabins. This past weekend we gathered at the farm house and had a great time. House is well-stocked and had everything we needed. We stayed here last year as well and will look forward to coming back next year.

Gorgeous Fall Views and Comfortable Accommodations
The back porch and fire pit look out over gorgeous rolling hills. The house was absolutely suitable for 10 adults. The space was clean, comfortable, and perfect for a private weekend getaway.

Our group loved John's Farmhouse
We stayed at John's Farmhouse over a long weekend. It was a beautiful house with so much character and history.
John was very kind and provided us with all the information we needed including emergency numbers in case of any incidents with an upcoming snow storm. During the storm, the plowers came every hour or two on the road next to the house and in the morning plowed the driveway which had two feet of snow.
My only recommendation to other tenants that would be coming in heavy snow: bring chains if you have a car with front wheel drive. The all wheel drive and 4 wheel drive cars were fine on the hill.
My group would absolutely come again.

charming vintage farmhouse close to everything in the Wilmington area
Wonderful country cabin very close to Wilmington downtown and Mount Snow area, but it’s unlikely you’ll want to leave the views from den in the cabin. Enjoy the large fireplace while overlooking the valley below from the large picture windows. Plenty of room for friends and family and make sure to explore the owners vast acreage by hiking to the top parcel, which at its peak, overlooks the mountain range and reservoir.. The homes vintage charm made for a nice break, we will be returning soon.

Pastoral oasis with beautiful views!
What a wonderful old farmhouse! Situated on 120 rolling acres, the views are amazing and the farmhouse is a throwback to more simple times (yet it maintains every modern convenience). While perfectly secluded and offering a welcome respite from the busy life, everything you need is only a short drive away. John is also the consummate host and very responsive to any needs.

Just what we needed
Great place, exactly what we wanted. Plenty of room and beds for everyone. Had extra half cord dropped off and went through all of it needless to say we loved the fire pit! See ya next year...

We had a blast staying at John's Farm house. Great old farmhouse on a hill with wonderful views. We had a party of 8 and everyone agreed it was a fantastic find! Thanks for sharing, John!!

Beautiful property, location, and incredible view.
Beautiful property, location, and incredible view. Downtown Willington is only 10 minutes away, and of course Mt Snow and Haystack is only a short drive away. Homeowner was great and was available via text to assist.

Beautiful property!
The owner was very quick to respond to any and all questions regarding the house. It has a very unique feel to it and we loved the natural wood and the fireplace. It is definitely a rustic decor but the bedrooms/bathrooms/living room all felt very clean! If you're looking for a very Vermont vacation you will definitely find it here!

beautiful views, big fire pit and very quiet
The property has beautiful views and is very quiet and relaxing. It is also very close to a grocery store, pharmacy and a few places to get food, coffee, etc. There was a nice fire pit and plenty of wood for us to use. The only reason it is not 5 stars in the grass area's were very long and this made it difficult to setup the outside games we brought and to really explore the property. Although the owner told us of his other property down the road which is in the process of being cleared which had an amazing view of the valley below so we did explore that property as well.
The house does need a little TLC but everything works and given the obvious age of the original part of the house it is to be expected

Great property with amazing surroundings, very spacious and comfortable
Really enjoyed the bonfire and fireplaces to gather around and relax. John was a fantastic host helping my family and I get settled in and made arrangements to make our stay great! I would highly recommend this place for your next getaway. Thanks again John

Fantastic Group Weekend
We brought 5 dads and 5 kids (ages 5-6) for a long weekend here and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. It had snowed just in time, so we were able to do a lot of sledding on the hill right outside the house and the larger hill at the top of the property while also doing some hiking and exploring around the property and making good use of the outdoor fire pit and indoor fireplace to keep ourselves warm. In fact, we never even left the property the whole time we were there. Some minor quibbles with the internet connection and linens/towels (they had been left in the dryer we eventually discovered), but in all the house was great and the perfect venue for a fun and even relaxing adventure.

Great place to stay
We really enjoyed staying in the house. It was nice and plenty room to accommodate our big company. It had no issues with hot water pressure/toilets and temperature inside of the house and no one had to rush through shower. There were a couple of things which would make our staying more comfortable:
First, the dish washing machine is not working properly (a cap of the detergent dispenser is broken) and we had to do dishes by ourselves.
Second, while the bathrooms and bedrooms were clean, the refrigerator was not as it was full of expired stuff left by other people.
We will definitely be back and will recommend this place to friends.

Great rustic house
My group definitely enjoyed our stay. It was a lot cozier than we expected. We'll have to come back when the weather is warmer so we can take advantage of all the beautiful land.
