About this house rental
Welcome to our home. It has plenty of space (3507s.f., 2847s.f. on the 1st and 2nd floors, 660s.f. in the finished lower level) to relax with your family and friends.
There is 3 night minimum for the following holidays: Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Years eve.

The home is centrally located and close to all of the Galena Territory amenities. An open floor plan, comfortable furniture, and designer touches make this an unforgettable experience. The home sits high on a 2.5 acre lot ensuring privacy and peaceful quiet, with stunning views of the gorgeous Galena "Driftless" countryside.
The formal, main entrance is protected by a covered porch (with 2 Adirondack chairs, a perfect location to watch for the large family of wild turkeys that call our road home) and features massive, thick double wood doors and a stone foyer with large closet. The foyer is adjacent to the 2nd floor staircase with its beautiful, custom maple hand rail.
The kitchen is fully equipped (Viking cooktop, oven, microwave, toaster, food processor, dishwasher). There is an island with 3 stools for casual dining. The coffee and wine wet bar features a wine refrigerator, sink, and coffee maker, coffee cups, and wine glasses.
The dining room has a beamed ceiling, large table, and plenty of seating.
The living room has a leather sofa/loveseat facing a floor-ceiling stone wood-burning fireplace and TV armoire (with YouTubeTV, Netflix, and DVD). Off to the side is a Barcelona chair/ottoman that is perfect for reading. In between the dining and living rooms is a game table and chairs for family entertainment. The living room ceiling is vaulted and clad in rustic stained cedar. The room is filled with windows and includes a door to the rear deck.
One guest bedroom (1 queen bed, 1 twin bed) with bathroom is located on the first floor.
The second floor landing overlooks the foyer and living room with access to a vaulted 2nd guest bedroom (with full bath, 1 queen bed, 1 twin bed) and primary bedroom.
The vaulted primary bedroom overlooks the Galena Territory through large windows with panoramic views. There is a king bed, flat screen TV, and abundant closet space. The primary bath has a double vanity, stand-alone claw-foot tub, walk-in shower, and separate toilet room. The primary bedroom also has a private balcony with a table and chairs.
Both 2nd floor bathrooms have supplemental thermostat-controlled electric heaters.
There is a mud room with washer/dryer and plenty of room to put all of your miscellaneous gear. It has a separate entry door.
The large screened porch is adjacent to the dining room and has plenty of comfortable, cushioned wicker furniture. It's a great spot to enjoy the views and a glass of wine. There is also a large open deck with seating and a hammock that is accessible from the living room, dining room or the screened porch.
Stunning new walk-out lower level adds 660s.f. and includes a cozy living area with TV and gas fireplace, kitchenette (w/refrigerator, microwave, and dishwasher), sitting area with queen Murphy bed, bedroom w/king bed, and 3/4 bath with heated floor.
The Galena area is amazing; stunningly beautiful and close to a wide array of destinations and activities. Guests in the Galena Territory can enjoy the Owner's Club (indoor and outdoor pools, fitness center, gymnasium, game room, snack bar), cross-country skiing, riding and walking trails, equestrian center, marina (canoe, kayak, paddleboat), as well as nearby year-round Galena attractions. The Galena Territory also features 4 golf courses, including the renowned “General” course, 2 restaurants, spa, and a general store.

Great home for a family get together. The gathering space is large and very comfortable. There were 4 couples and we each had our own bedroom and bathroom. In addition, we were able to share our meals at one table. Great property!

We live in Texas now, but are from Chicago suburbs. We have our Mother-in-law and daughter still in the area. We decided to make a long weekend in Galena to reconnect with family. The house was perfect for that. We only had a total of four people in the house but would love to plan a future trip with our 3 adult children.
The property was beautiful, and the home was very high quality and extremely comfortable on one of the best looking streets in the territory.
We didn’t get to use the fire pit because our 80 year old mother-in-law uses a rolling walker and could not cross the sloped yard, but it looked extremely inviting.
The screen porches made some enjoyable mornings, afternoons, and evenings.
If considering, do not hesitate. It made for a beautiful stay.

Five friends from grade school had a girls weekend to celebrate a milestone birthday. We loved the house and each had a comfortable bedroom. The main dining living area is open and big and as beautiful as the photos online. The house had all the amenities we could possibly need, so we were able to cook meals and hang out all night. They also had a ton of games available.
Paula and Scott were easy to communicate with through the app.
Me and my friends want to do this again.

We all enjoyed this great home and the Galena area. We started the first day with the Farmers Market at the Galena Territory and began a great adventure. We hiked, found waterfalls, nature preserves, River paths and beautiful views. We also did the Goat Trek…Segways…and more. The home was a great place to chill and play games after our adventures. We appreciate the quick response the Hosts had to our few questions.

This was our 2nd stay at this beautiful property which indicates our A+ recommendation both times. The house is perfect for our group of women with spaces for gathering together for meals and card games, and spaces for quiet retreat from the group. This property was just perfect for our 50 and Fabulous getaway! We were able to enjoy our time together all seated around the dining table, out on the screened porch and in the comfy tv area. The large windows allowed us to view the surrounding woods where the colors were just starting to change. The house had the space we needed plus all the amenities. Hope we can visit again sometime!

We so enjoyed our stay in Galena. The house had everything we needed and more. Very convenient for golf, with The General just down the road and the North Course not far away. We especially enjoyed hanging out on the screen porch, enjoying the outdoors without the bugs. It was a perfect setting nestled in the woods. We were delighted by all of the wild turkey sightings!

We had a couple of issues but we contacted Scott and they were immediately resolved.

The property was great for our guys trip with 7 adults. There was plenty of space and beds for all and the property was clean, private and well stocked. The owners were easy to deal with though we didn’t need anything during our stay. The only downfall I can think of at this time is the drive to the garbage drop off facility is a bit of a hike.

It was a wonderful stay. The house was beautiful, clean, and exactly as they stated. We couldn’t have asked for more. There were 6 of us lady cousins, and we really enjoyed the screened porch for visiting and having a few cocktails in the evening. The bedrooms were perfect and the beds comfy. Great secluded spot for myself and some friends to get away for the weekend. The fire pit outside was awesome for a group of us to wind down at the end of the day. Would have liked to make it to the owners club but we didnt have time to make it during our short trip but it looked great. We always have a good time in the Galena area and the town is always pleasant. Wish the town of Galena had better cell service but we had no problem with service at the property.

We have been coming to Galena for almost 30 years and this was the first time it was necessary to rent a home for my own family. The home was as described, the public space was open and comfortable the dining room easily fit our family of 10 and the bedrooms were spacious and comfortable. Home was very nice. We thought we had a 4 bedroom house, but we only had access to 3 bedrooms. We had a total of 5 adults and reserved we thought 4 bedrooms but not what we got. Stated it was an extra fee, but that was not in my notes when made reservation. The coffee pot would not work or the Kerig. We made house work but will not reserve again. Thank you!

Fabulous accommodations for 7 women who have known each other for 50 years. All 4 bedroom suites were top notch! It was clean, well-appointed, comfortable, and big enough to have private space when petty differences arose or telling secrets about each other was needed. (Ha!) We hope to return again and do more exploring of this beautiful tri-state area and create new memories with old friends. Communications with the owners were great!
