Хороший отель в джунглях, рядом с посёлком Гентинг.

Отель согласился принять оплату наличными при заезде и повысил категорию нашего проживания до пляжной виллы, за что мы очень признательны. Большая вилла с высокими потолками и просторной террасой. Много мест для хранения вещей. В комнате удобная зона отдыха у выхода на террасу с двумя диванами и креслом. Много электрических розеток. Антимоскитный полог с прямоугольным каркасом над большой двуспальной кроватью. Над пологом установлен не шумный потолочный четырёхскоростной вентилятор со встроенной лампой. Управление вентилятором и лампой осуществляется с пульта. У Мelina Beach своя лодка, поэтому у Вас не будет проблем с передвижением по побережью острова. Конечно, эти поездки не бесплатные и цена зависит от расстояния. Например, поездка до Текека обойдётся Вам в 50 ринггит на человека. В отеле хороший, хотя и недешёвый ресторан, а завтраки по системе шведский стол, включённые в стоимость проживания, действительно превосходные. Так же в ресторане можно бесплатно наполнять бутылки питьевой водой из кулера. Вай-фай хороший, но он есть только в ресторане. Интересный коралловый риф расположен прямо перед отелем и простирается до посёлка Пайя. Много мягких кораллов, актиний и различных рифовых рыб. Никакой крупной живности не встречено. Вода мутновата. Возле мыса лучше смотреть кораллы ближе к берегу, у скал. Что касается пеших походов, то здесь у Вас есть всего два направления и оба вдоль берега. Первое - это тропа через джунгли по скалистому мысу в посёлок Пайя. Для прохода по ней нужно быть хоть в какой то физической форме. Второе - это хорошая бетонная дорожка, ведущая в посёлок Гентинг. Именно на этом пути встретилось много интересной живности: гигантские белки, макаки-крабоеды, вараны, летучие лисицы и различные птицы.

Даже ненадолго выходя из номера, закрывайте двери на террасу. Иначе в Ваш номер могут наведаться макаки-крабоеды со всеми вытекающими последствиями. Основное преимущество этого отеля в том, что он находится не в посёлке. Вместе с тем в Мelina Beach очень любят отдыхать постояльцы с детьми. Поэтому спокойствие и расслабленность Вашего отдыха будет зависеть исключительно от того, сколько детей из Малайзии и Сингапура проживают в отеле в течении Вашего пребывания. Хотя пляж Мelina Beach с жёлтым песком лучше, чем большинство пляжей восточного побережья острова, подходит для купания, но всё равно он малокупабельный, особенно во время отлива. В воде много камней и обломков скал различного размера. Для входа в воду необходимо пользоваться дорожкой для лодок, проложенной к середине пляжа и обозначенной канатами. Напор воды в душе оставляет желать лучшего. В антимоскитном пологе многочисленные порезы. У виллы нет окон, а раздвижные двери на террасу открываются только на половину проёма. При включении воды в раковине уровень воды в сливе, расположенном в полу возле унитаза, поднимается и начинает вонять каналмзацией. Сначала нам удавалось запирать входную дверь ключом, но в какой то момент этот замок перестал запираться. Сушилки для одежды нет. Странно, что отель такого класса выдаёт только по одному полотенцу на каждого постояльца.

Super nice and helpfull staff with great restaurant! Resort is on its own little beach a short boat ride or walk away fr

Staff was superb. Top tier service. Rooms were clean and the AC worked well. You could see the food in the restaurant was made well with high standards. Local and the seafood was really tasty and the portions were big. We also loved the pizzas there.

I don't even know where to begin! The staff are helpful and outgoing, the food scrumptious and the location is straight forward picturesque. Highly recommend!!

Awesome location, perfect bonding with families and outdoor adventure.

Initially we thought the resort was basic but after knowing the history of these eco resort and location, i was blown away by the staff and perfect spot for snorkeling and endless outdoor activities.

Very good

The hotel is ideally located between jungle and beach The team is super efficient and very welcoming

Unfortunately the coral is damaged on the island, but it is still possible to appreciate beautiful seabed

It was a memorable two days.

We had an amazing experience. Extremely friendly staff, excellent food and services. We have been overwhelmed by the kindness of the staff. My kids wanted to stay longer. Even the cook made a special dinner for us. Highly recommended.

very relaxing, a bit too expensive services, big issue on double service tax payment

beach front cottage, secluded, good for relaxing. food was very good for a cottage type accommodation on an island the service was very good

the worse was the hotel asking for 10% service charge already paid to booking.com. there is a conflict it seems between booking.com and the hotel on receiving and paying this tax. Booking.com is telling they transferred this money to the hotel. the hotel is telling they don’t receive it and have to ask their clients to pay one more time. some people were complaining that corals on the beach were hurting feet but they provide shoes. the cost of Snorkelling trips is higher than other companies villages and also shorter.

Overall, we had a delightful experience.

The staff were friendly, fabulous, courteous and accommodating. The team paid attention to ours needs. The resort was unique because it was secluded from heavy traffic of people and therefore feels exclusive. We felt like the beach was all to ourselves! There was a coral reef situated very nearby the resort.

very nice and private location with a beautiful beach.

there is a 10% service fee on everything you buy (food, trips…) during your stay (which we expected) BUT on the final bill you also have to pay an additional 10% of the roomprice (if you book through booking.com), something I have never expierenced before when using booking.com (you‘ll get an email after booking, mentioning the 10% service fee) alltogether i found it to be a bit pricy. the rooms are very basic and dark, the bathroom would need a little renovation here and there, the breakfast needs improvement - not what you would expect regarding the price.

We really enjoyed our stay, the location is great and made for a relaxing couple of days.

lovely secluded beach huts. staff very friendly and helpful. The food was tasty.

there was no nice coffee which I was dying for and it is so secluded you cannot even walk to get a coffee elsewhere. The breakfast was very Low quality especially given it isn’t included in the room price. menu is limited - 3 days and we ran out of options. no kids menu. alcoholic and soft drinks options limited as well.

Staff were extremely good. Polite, accomodating, helpful and friendly.

The food was expensive, more than 3 times the price in the nearby town and portions were small. There are approx 17% additional you have to pay for the stay in taxes which are not reflected on booking.com.

Nice location, food needs improvement

The location is great. Right in front of a nice relaxing beach where you can snorkel. The rooms are facing the sea, with nice natural atmosphere

Once you are there, you don’t have other options for breakfast and dinner. Other villages are far and not accessible by night through the jungle. I personally was not a fan of the food. It’s absolutely over-priced and the quality is really basic … you would eat elsewhere in the island for three time as less meals that are a lot more tasty… With decent meals, this place would be far better.

Friendly staff, lovely beach with very rustic, simple accommodation.

Warm friendly staff, lovely beach and friendly in house pets made it a cosy stay

The accommodation is extremely rustic. So guests are prepared - the simple huts are very simple and not well sealed and in the bathroom there was a 1 cm gap in the floor where you can see straight to the ground below. Expect creaking floors and doors. On arrival the room was full of a variety of bugs and ants (hundreds in the bathroom). I got spray and we all slept in mosquito nets which helped and over the following days we had less bugs due to this spraying and keeping the doors closed all the time. They advertised cocktails on the website but they don't have a liquor licence for spirits.

A place to wind down. Go without too much expectations and you will be amazed!

The staff were amazing catering to all our needs and super friendly. It was great to have a private beach with corals right at the beachfront. The beach was clean and the restaurant was very clean. The view from the restaurant and at the beach were amazing. Snorkeling gear was free. The location of the room opening directly to the beachfront was amazing.

Transportation from jetty to resort was below expectation and approach was unprofessional as it had a dent on the start of our vacation. Food was good but could be improved especially the breakfast buffet. However, Seafood platter was superb. Room pricing did not match the size of the room nor the complimentary guest facilities provided (spa, board games, wifi coverage in room, limited bar)

Peacefulness in paradise.

We particularly appreciated the secluded location of the hotel, far from the crowd. The staff was super considerate and since we stayed during a calm period, they even upgraded us to the bigger chalet on the beach. The team always wanted to make sure our needs were satisfied, whether it was about food, excursions or tips to go to the villages or surroundings.

Excellent good. We are coming back

The staff is outstanding good. Enormous service minded and help you with everything. You feel like a family with the staff. 6-stars staff. Portion of food was very big. Fish dishes unbelievable good. There was a speciality dish every day which was very good.

The basic menu in the restaurant could include more local food.

Relaxing weekend getaway

Upon arrival we got earlier to the Ferry and Patrick was very accommodating to pick up us before the scheduled time. The room was very spacious and clean. Big bed and stunning sea view. Charlie is a great cook and we enjoyed every meal! Breakfast was simple but a good selection of fresh fruit, eggs, and bread is all we needed. The private beach is very clean, the water is lovely and the perfect spot for snorkeling. Great please to relax and enjoy nature.

Honestly, all the staff at Melina was so nice, I cant think of anything to complain.
