About this chalet rental

Please be sure to read all house rules, amenities, notes and policies before booking. The Great Pocono Rental is a beautiful, ~1400sq/ft, mountain home located in Towamensing Trails, just a short walk to the lake and marina. A private vacation spot offering a crystal clear 190 acre stocked lake, with boat rentals available. There is a sandy beach, outdoor lakefront swimming pool, lakefront restaurant and bar, tennis and basketball courts. For the kids, there is a playground and kiddie pool...8 "amenity renters bands" provided to use community facilities...children 5 and under do not need bands. Area is patrolled with 24-hour security(guests will be registered previous to arrival). The home has 3 bedrooms (2 queen, and 1 queen/twin bunk beds), and 2 full bathrooms. There is also a full futon in the loft area and a portable crib. Loft area is off to the side of the master bedroom…it is not a separate room. Our “suggested max comfortable occupancy” would be 6 adults+children. Our cozy and comfortable home offers cathedral ceilings, stone gas fireplace, ceiling fans(No AC), modern fully-equipped kitchen, three bedrooms, two baths, and TV/DVD. The game room area, at the house, has a dart board, air hockey/PING PONG & MORE! While the chalet does not have AC, there are ceiling fans throughout the house. The average high temps in July/August are in the 70's(weatherforyou.com), so 99% of the time, AC is not needed!

The Great Pocono Rental is nestled in the woods of Towamensing Trails. Ideal for weekly/weekend get a ways, ski isj vacations, summer vacations and fall foliage views. Our beautiful and cozy home offers cathedral ceilings, lots of glass, gas burning stone fireplace, ceiling fans throughout, modern fully-equipped kitchen, three bedrooms, two baths and TVs/DVD/VCR and videos. The game area features a dart board, air hockey/ping pong(combo). For outdoor entertaining, we offer two Spacious decks and a grill. Amenities: Stone Gas Fireplace, Ceiling Fans throughout, Phone, Cable TV, Stereo, CD Player, DVD/VCR, Many kids’ games, Full Kitchen, Microwave, Coffee Pot, Dishwasher, Refrigerator, Washer, Dryer, Grill. overall our stay was pleasant . The chalet was open and airy . A few little things needed fixing but nothing that spoiled the stay. It was a perfect size for my husband and I , and our toy dog but a family could also easily be comfortable. There’s much to do in the community and lots of good restaurants in the surrounding areas. My husband and i were a little surprised the chalet wasn’t in a more wooded area and that the neighbours were very close.. They were, however, very friendly. The area is very quiet and deer are very friendly and will eat out of your hand The host Mike was very responsive to all messages both before, during and after our stay. Would recommend, especially if you live in an urban area and require peace and quiet

We enjoyed our stay in this quiet private community surrounded by deer and friendly neighbors. Pet friendly and only 20 minutes to Jim Thorpe which was a unique town with plenty to do, from shopping to whitewater rafting. We will definitely be back

We learned in an email sent less than 24 hours prior to check in, "cleaners" only are contracted to sanitize bathrooms. Hardly "immaculate" as the listing leads with, the house is dusty, dirty, food items left on stove and on plates in cabinets and other people's belongings left in/on beds. No linens, kitchen towels, TP, dish detergent, etc. are on-site, which should be made blatantly obvious in the property description but we missed it in the listing until the email sent at 6:15pm prior to our arrival. Location is good! This house is best for a quick stay when most time will be spent at the slopes or outdoors. Details and photos (since they cannot be posted here) were shared with host directly via email in efforts to allow them to correct things for future renters.

We had a great stay at this cottage. Mike was great and replied back quickly to our questions, and we had a lot, lol. He also gave us very detailed info about our stay, rules, directions, etc. There was plenty for us to do around the area. The only complaints we had was that there were 9 of us staying in the house and the main tv was super small for all of us to gather and watch a couple football games, movies and watch the ball drop for NYE. Also the futon in the loft was so uncomfortable, we lost a space to sleep. Thankfully, we brought a blow up bed. Otherwise, the chalet had everything we needed to have a great long weekend!

I loved my spacious cabin! It had everything and mor I needed in there. The cons are the ads that said casino was only 15 minutes away, when it was morel like 45 minutes away. My other complaint was the tennis and fishing site was in dire need of being kempt better. The nets were falling in and the grounds looked deserted. I really wanted to fish and grill the fish I cooked for my birthday, but forgot to PURCHASE MY ANNUAL FISHING LICENSE. So, I had no problem purchasing while there, but come to find out one can only keep 3 trout if caught. It was basically, catch & release. Overall, I had a great stay & time.

It was amazing to see the deets so up close and personal it was breathtaking. The place was amazing the upstairs loft look over amazing. The response time from both Mike and his team was admirable. We really enjoyed ourselves. Not too far from Louis Steakhouse with was a fav!! And the dollar general right around the corner has produce so this place is really that place with location. Will go again and will book this place!!

I understand that the place is pet friendly but I was abit taken back when I walked in… the smell of dog was overwhelming, and the counter was dirty. On Friday we packed up and headed to lake, which was closed and no water activities. That was extremely disappointing since the entire reason I rented a place was for the lake.

Great Getaway from the City Bustle

What a joy. After 2 years of being home in the city, we were dying to go somewhere quiet with wildlife. The cabin was very clean and we enjoyed a big snow storm in which the fireplace made us feel extra cozy. The owner immediately sent over someone to shovel at the snow so we could easily walk and get our car out. Before the snow, we LOVED seeing all the deer around. We had no complaints at all. The communication from the owner was so fast, it was great. We will definitely return to this home!

Provided for a nice short stay to be with family. Area was very nice and we all enjoyed the wild life. Jim Thorpe is definitely worth the trip but get there early as traffic and parking become a nightmare.

Had a nice time at the property! Mike was very quick to reply to all communications. It was just myself and my partner and two dogs - dogs had a lovely time. Beach was closed for season due to bacteria, and pool/hottub also closed which was a bit disappointing. Tennis courts were lovely, and some nice hiking nearby. House was clean, although can tell based on how my dogs were sniffing at one spot on the carpet when we first arrived that a previous doggie guest had likely peed in that spot. Have to bring all bedding/towels/blankets which was fine but would have been nice to have some available on site. Neighbors are closer than I was expecting, but everyone was quiet so wasn't an issue. Overall very nice time, will likely be back with larger group as the value probably isn't worth it for just two people in such a large property.

It’s a nice house, very good location and nice neighborhood. I know it’s pet friendly but it smelt like it which completely turned me off. We had to keep the windows open the entire time to try to help with the smell. The house was clean but needs updating. The comforters that were there were stained. If there were clean linens including towels it would have been better for the price. Once you add all the fees including the cleaning fee it’s too expensive for what you get. The owners were very good with communication.

We had a great time at this spacious, clean and well-equipped property. 3 adults and 3 kids. Hosts were responsive when we needed something. Centrally located in Poconos made day trips easy. Nice community area and close state park nearby with great beach. Enjoyed day trips to Lego Land and Dorney Park, local breweries and waterfalls. Loved the front and back decks for relaxing and the wildlife. Nice kitchen. Great stay, would recommend!

Great house and community

From start to finish the rental process was easy. The house was beautiful and in great condition. When we arrived the cleaners had not done very well but the owner fixed the situation in under an hour. As far as I see it, this isn’t an issue with the owner at all. The community itself was amazing. We were a short distance from the pool, beach and clubhouse which were all very well maintained. The house itself is in very close proximity to many restraints and activities for families.

The house was beautiful and the neighborhood peaceful. The only complaint I had was the host after I booked my reservation demanded a security deposit when it said to pay it upon check in. He then threatened to give my room that was already paid for to another party because I didn't answer his email for 30mins because I was at work. I loved the house and area but due to that experience i doubt i would stay with this host again.

Nice and sunny property in a Towamensing Community in PA. The property is situated in the forest, walking distance to the tennis courts. It is clean and well stocked. There is a dishwasher, washer dryer and bbq. There is no A/C but nights in the forest get pretty fresh, and cold even. Coolest selection of mugs. Loved the house! Although the house is well-stocked and nicely kept, I found the community Itself to be less so. The tennis courts were locked down and looked like they were not used for years. The beach parking was over-crowded always. Due to CoVId the pool and cabana were closed off as well. Which is fine, but tennis courts? Also, the Policy of driving up to the communal garbage collector with your own rubbish was rather unusual. On the scale of all things, these are rather small cons when weighed against the pros of living in the woods in a beautiful well-kept house and enjoying the clean forest air. Would def. come again. Must bring thicker trash bags, though.
