Excellent all over the board, from the rooms, the facilities to the hosts and the exceptional food. Tourism meets nature at its best.
There are a lot of things to see and do in the surroundings, from nature walks to quaint monuments.

Little River Guest House is an amazing place to spend anywhere from one day to one month, and more. The owners have done a wonderful job with restoring the 19th century house, striking a balance between old-timey charm and authenticity and modern functionality. The garden was beautifully landscaped and looked like straight out of a fairytale. And then there was the centerpiece of my stay - the Food. I wouldn't have thought that two men from the UK would grasp the soul of Middle Eastern/Balkan/North African food so well. Extremely tasty, could eat what they cook every day. In summary, I would recommend this place to anyone looking to spend some magical days in the mountain, and I will definitely go back again.

We had wonderful, peaceful and quiet time as guests of Little River Guest House. This is a gem hidden in a beautiful wild forest great for hiking or just spending chill time among nature. The hosts are very pleasant and very hospitable people. We felt very welcomed and cared for at all times of our stay. They cooked delicious and exciting breakfast and dinner as we had dishes that we never tried before. The house is very authentic, feels almost like you live in a museum except for the fact that unlike a museum, this place felt very 'homey' - cozy and comfortable. The bed was supercomfortable with duck down pillows and duvet, which is real luxury for Bulgaria. If you are a person that enjoys peaceful breaks in nature settings and old-style authenticity but with comfort - this is a wonderful place to stay. We will most certainly come back again!

Lovely peaceful place with the nicest and most welcoming hosts. This is the perfect place to escape the daily hassle and recharge the batteries. At the same time it is conveniently located near many wonderful sights. Charming mix of old and modern. Lovely cosy rooms with very comfortable beds. The hosts cook absolutely delicious food and most important, they deal with any dietary requirements. We were so happy to be able to taste any of the tempting breakfast options and enjoy divine desserts although we are on a gluten free diet. Would definitely return and definitely recommend.

The place is very peaceful, situated in this small village very close to Gabrovo. The forest is just a couple of minutes walking distance from the house. The house is very beautifully renovated and preserved, still there is a modern touch in the decorations.
The room was clean and comfortable.
The food is unbelievably tasty. One of the few places in Bulgaria to offer high quality food and great accommodation for a very affordable price.
Perfect for a weekend getaway from the crowded and noisy city.

This is the easiest 10/10 I give. The bnb is absolutely amazing: beautiful nature, cozy rooms, the most welcoming hosts and the food is outstanding. Conveniently located right next to important Bulgarian towns and villages so that you can explore both nature and heritage.
Looking forward to visiting Little River House again soon. Thank you Paul and Andrew for the fantastic stay.

It was like traveling in the time ❤️ A place with a unique energy, created with a lot of love and attention to every detail🤩 Everything that has annoyed you in other hotels or houses is avoided here - this is your vacation - you can have breakfast when you want, you are not bothered with annoying procedures for checking in and there is exceptional attitude to you as a customer 👏 The food is just perfect 💯 Highly recommend this place 🔝🔝🔝 You'll feel like you've visited an old good friend, and you'll definitely want to come back again 😊

Everything ,this is our second time here and it is as good as the first ,what can you say when everything is as it is supposed to be I wish every place was the way it was meant to be, but that is not always the case .The 2 boys are great !and nothing is too much trouble

Wonderful accommodations, and OMG THE FOOD! The guesthouse comprises several renovated traditional Bulgarian farm buildings set around a lovely central stone courtyard with gardens and seating areas. Our room was clean and large with a comfortable bed and a massive gleaming bathroom, complete with 2-person soaking tub and a functional American-style shower. All that was nice, but what we did not expect was the quality of the food. If you stay here, you MUST dine here, too. Seriously, the food is too good to miss, and this praise comes from a jaded foodie. The guesthouse hosts, Paul and Andrew, in addition to being fabulous people, are chef-quality meal designers. Local, seasonal, organic ingredients are masterfully prepared, and the Al fresco setting is simply wonderful. I can’t recommend this place highly enough. It’s in a great location near many natural wonders and attractions, it’s well-managed by passionate hosts, and then there’s the FOOD.

I didn't like, I LOVED everything about this place! I know it might be silly to repeat whay other guests have said, however it is all true! Paul and Andrew are the most incredible hosts! Their food is next level, I have never eaten more delicious dishes in my 28 years of life! The setting is beautiful, the location is peaceful and yet close to some amazing places of interest such as the Etara, Shipka, different monasteries, Veliko Tarnovo and of course Gabrovo. The room is super cosy, clean and perfect to stay in any season of the year. The beds are incredibly comfortable, the bathrooms are very generous and has everything you need. I almost never write reviews but I feel I absolutely need to here because both Paul and Andrew (and Kitty the cat) deserved it.! Thank you for everything ❤️ ♥️ 💛 💗 💕 💖 Kris & Graham

Absolutely incredible place to stay! I've been to many expensive hotels in and out of Bulgaria, however no one has ever matched the service of Little River Guest House! Paul and Andrew not only make the BEST food that I have ever tried in my life, but are also extremely helpful, hospitable, friendly and kind. They make you feel at home and they have done such an incredible job at leaving the most incredible memory in my head from my latest trip to Bulgaria. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for everything you did to make sure we had such a special stay at your incredible property!

The guest house is a perfect place to escape from the stress and distraction of daily life and spend a quiet holiday in the central Balkan. There are cultural/heritage sites accessible by car, as well as tourist trails in the mountains. We preferred to visit nearby attractions in the mornings and spend lazy afternoons in the house garden in the company of a friendly feline friend. I definitely recommend visiting this location if you're looking for a quiet and peaceful vacation in nature. Also very much worth noting is that the hosts are amazing cooks and prepare fresh and original meals every day, which were a definite highlight of our stay here.

I recommend mosquito nets on the windows and air conditioners in the rooms because it was very hot in the small house. If you want to work online the internet is bad.

Great hosts, Paul and Andrew were very nice and accommodating. We had everything we need and felt like home. The rooms are nicely decorated, but more importantly - they are sparkling clean. The mattress as well as the pillows and bedding are top notch. The food they offer is tasty and different, than the norm. Breakfast was variative and being prepared on demand.
Visit them, you will not be disappointed. We will be back for sure.
Not related to the property, however we visited on maybe one of the hottest days in the year and being with a baby we could not go around sightseeing cause it was too hot to be outside.

We had an amazing time with Paul and Andrew at their beautiful place, created with love, passion and care. Everything was great and totally exceeded our expectations. Hosts were hospitable, friendly, accommodating and very pleasant. I can't recommend them highly enough and I wish Bulgaria had more places like these.

Paul and Andrew are perfect hosts! The house has all the modern facilities while retaining its authentic atmosphere. In addition we really enjoyed their big and beautiful garden. Our room was cozy with many interesting details and spotless clean and shiny bathroom. Last but not least, the food...just amazing! Interesting and exotic food combinations, perfectly balanced and extremely delicious.

This is an amazing little gem in the middle of the mountains. Both Paul and Andrew are amazing hosts and go above and beyond. The food is amazing and Paul as amazing cook. I would strongly recommend the pancakes for breakfast. The atmosphere is so calm and relaxing perfect for city getaway and disconnect from the busy city life.

The house is located in a quiet village, near a small river. The hosts, named Andrew and Paul, were very friendly. The room we were in was really well arranged, the bed was soft and the bathroom was spacious and clean. There is a front yard with lots of flowers and alleys with nice places where you can sit. The food that was served was probably the best we have eaten in a while. Exceeded all our expectations.

This is the best place we had in Bulgaria: we loved it from the very first moment. Paul and Andrew are the best and do everything to make you feel at home (which we did). Great garden to read a book or play cards, to relax. The house was beautiful renovated, with much love and care, the beds were amazing. The very best was the food: extraordinairy and inspiring as well.
Nothing: we liked it all and will recommend it to our friends and family. Hopefully we are in the position to go back there!
