Great cheap spot

Great spot, bar downstairs and ducted air-conditioning to keep you cool on a hot day /night

Bed was on the floor and being a little older found it hard to get down and back up. Also it was a rule for silence after midnight but people were talking and slamming doors all night.

Pas loin de la plage

Nous n’avons pas aimé l’ambiance de cette auberge, nous nous sentions pas à l’aise. C’est plutôt un endroit pour surfeurs avec des résidents qui restent un moment dans l’auberge qu’un stop sur le route pour les couples. Le lit double était à raz le sol. Nous n’avons pas trouvé la cuisine très propre.

Great location

The location is perfect. Close to the beach and caffees. The room was spacious (had a single room), and the bed was comfortable.

It is a place with a very good vibe to stay, whether for work or vacation.

I really liked it from the moment you arrive, they welcome you with a smile and give you all the information about where your place is, where you can cook and they suggest where you can eat around. At the end they ask you if you have questions. I liked the room that they have an area to leave things and the bedrooms are clean. The bathrooms also have signs everywhere inviting guests to respect the rules, which makes coexistence enjoyable.

The only detail that perhaps was not so good is the internet signal. It was intermittent.

Staff were great and so were the facilities - it is in a great location.

The property was not equipped to deal with heavy rainfall and several buckets were out to catch the leaking roof drops.

Exceptional

Excellent location. Very helpful owners. Great crowd. The very best of Woopi in one spot. If it wasn’t for its popularity and (understandable) weekly-limit on local travellers, I wouldn’t stay anywhere else! The only alternative to overpriced, characterless and otherwise bland offerings in the region. Congratulations! A jewel in Woolgoolga’s crown.

1 night in Woolgoolga

Easy and friendly check in, cool and chill vibes. Appreciated the heater in the room as the common area are all open. Fun to have a sink in the room. Bed set up is lil weird as you got single bunk bed on top of double one and no curtain or ladder, so no privacy if 3 people and top one got to step on double bed every time 😅

Common area could be cleaner for sure : bathroom, toilets and mostly kitchen but it results of guests not following rules I believe. Kitchen was crowded and we could not find space in the fridge at all, we had to keep our food in the car overnight and lost some of it. Kitchen needs to be tidy and reorganised to be accessible for long and short term guests !

Most enjoyable

Interaction with the young people staying. It's been decades since I last stayed in a back packers and I thought it may be very noisy but it wasn't. The large do-it-yourself breakfast was a complete welcome surprise. I would stay again.

Sadly, very loud at night if you want sleep

I can't fault the place in general everything was fine with me staff and facilities. Sadly, the noise was not good at night, which doesn't help when you have to catch a very early bus.

If you want sleep, I won't recommend this place

great location, well design and decoration, luggage room, pick-up and drop-off service from coach station, train station and airport, responsive and supportive staff either online or in person.

wifi signal does not cover my room.

The facilities were ok for the price

The noise level was unbearable to sleep in. No restrictions on noise so loud parties going on till 2 in the morning and no sleep

Advertised with air con but what they don’t say is that it is only on between 8 pm and 1 am, making it impossible to sleep longer than 5 or 6am. Unbearable in summer, it gets simply too hot in the room for its size with that many people. Correct advertisement, so specification of the use of the AC would help out a lot of future travellers.

Good Hostel, for the price very ok

I really like the way beds are arranged in the rooms, so you have at least some privacy.

In my females-room was just a big mess (by the other guests), there should be a policy so everyone keeps their stuff together stored in one place not just spread all over. Only cold water in the shower.
