About this house rental
Beautifully restored 1840's era farmhouse is the ideal retreat for ski vacations, hiking, biking & exploring lakes and streams, hanging with friends & family and work from home & homeschooling stays. Features post & beam construction, wide plank flooring, luxurious radiant heat, stainless steel appliances, large windows and powerful WiFi.
Clean, cozy, and loads of character combining the best of old and new.
Please send a quick message with a few trip/group details before instant booking as we are on multiple sites!
It has been said that this is the coziest house in the world.
Warm in winter and cool in the summer, it has 4 bedrooms. There is a full bath upstairs (with washer & dryer), and a master suite with tile shower downstairs. It also has a half-bath, mudroom, covered porch, spacious living room and an open kitchen and dining room.
Coffee time in the morning or amazing après ski dinners at night are a treat when you are surrounded by windows in the open plan kitchen. The property features a large back yard with views of Mt. Mansfield and Hunger Mountain.
The house has a high definition TV with all the best apps (Netflix, Amazon, etc.) and both hard wired and wireless internet access in every room. There is off-street parking for several cars in the driveway.
It is an older house, and the stairs are a little steeper and narrower than those found in most homes today. Most people have no problem (our young kids are fine on them), there is a handrail (and baby gates available), but if you have trouble with "normal" stairs you'd want the downstairs bedroom, or a different house.
The location is centrally located between Stowe and the Village of Waterbury in a quiet, picturesque neighborhood.
The house is a perfect haven of tranquility. But also close to some of Vermont’s finest attractions - the Ben & Jerry’s factory and the Cold Hollow Cider Mill - are both within 2 miles. Also in town are many amazing restaurants, including Hen of the Wood and Michael’s On the Hill. We’re very close to Waterbury’s newest bar/restaurant/yoga studio, The Zen Barn! And nearby Stowe boasts too many fine restaurants and pubs to list.
Just a short drive from the house is the best downhill and x-country skiing, boarding, mountain biking, hiking and canoeing in New England. Within 10 miles lie Stowe Mountain Resort, Trapp Family Lodge, Waterbury Reservoir and the Lamoille and Winooski Rivers. Skiing at Bolton, Sugarbush and Mad River is nearby.
Just across the street is Hope Davey Park with playground, a skate park, ball fields, Frisbee golf, and walking/x-country skiing trails.
This is our vacation house and we're excited to share it. That said, the neighborhood is quiet, so please, no party groups!!
Strict no pets policy. Kids are very welcome.
If you book, please take minute to tell us a little about your group to satisfy our curiosity :)

This was one of the nicest homes we've ever stayed in! Clean, spectacularly comfy, plenty of room, etc. Location was excellent - we went to Ben & Jerry's, kayaked, spent time in Stowe, went to Burlington, and could have easily spent another week.

We were in town for a birthday party and loved staying at this house. Beds were super comfortable and the home has all the necessities to relax and enjoy your stay. The renovation of this antique farmhouse kept all the charm and beauty, including wide pine floors and rustic beams, while adding modern conveniences like surround sound and well appointed bathrooms. Highly recommend.

Tyler’s farmhouse was the perfect home for our grown family to gather. We were in Waterbury for our son’s wedding, and the home was a perfect place to spend the mornings! It is so darling, comfortable, and has everything you need for your stay. We truly wish there had been more time for us to enjoy the house! Everything was clean and the yard was spectacular! We would love to come back sometime!

Loved the location, very quiet neighborhood. The spacious kitchen, dining room and sitting area, along with the natural lighting from all the windows, was absolutely gorgeous! The back yard view looked like a golf course fairway😁
Thank you SO much again! We will be back.

Property exceeded expectations! Great location, quiet neighborhood but close to everything, very well appointed in bedrooms, kitchen, and living room. Will absolutely try to stay again on our next visit to Waterbury.

Three generations of our family loved our stay in this welcoming house. Plenty of space to gather or spread out depending on the time of day. Comfortable beds, beautiful views of the mountains, fresh apples from the trees in the backyard, we couldn’t ask for more.

The old farmhouse was beautiful, clean and spacious! We enjoyed every minute of our stay there.

This was a charming farmhouse with lots of character, natural light and large private back yard. Convenient to downtown Waterbury and Stowe.

Great spot. Waterbury is only a few minutes away plus the house is close to Stowe and Burlington. Very well appointed with a full kitchen and more than enough space for our party of eight. The host Tyler made himself available should we have needed his assistance (we did not). Highly recommended.

We loved every minute of staying at this beautiful farmhouse. The pictures do not do it justice! Between the spacious living area, the fully equipped kitchen and the beautiful views of the snowy backyard, this home provided us with a much needed weekend of relaxation. It was nice coming home to some hot chocolate and a comfy sitting area after a long day of skiing. We will definitely be back.

Charming, cozy, well appointed. The house suited our needs very well for Thanksgiving with our adult children (4 of us, and there was still an extra bedroom we didn’t use with twin beds) Great location between Waterbury and Stowe, and easy to get on the highway to Burlington (we did all of these). Neighborhood is quiet. Best for one family, as, since it’s a remodeled old farmhouse, it still has the charms of close living (ie not much sound insulation). We kept our sense of humor about that! But would certainly come again! It’s a gem of a property😊

We have a lovely weekend away ! Perfect location !

Our 2 and 6 year old boys were fans of the house—the toys, books, game, and Smart TVs available, along with a big rocking horse, were such wonderful touches. Having gates available for the steep stairs was such a relief. There was plenty of space for larger or a couple of families.
We were impressed with how nicely the older house was kept up/redone (bathrooms and kitchen appliances, air conditioners worked GREAT during the heat wave) but was otherwise comfortable and low-key. The house was well supplied and stocked (including our favorite Dyson vacuum!) and we appreciated the quick and helpful communication from our host when needed. One thing that could be improved is having curtains in the “kids” room-this was notably missing and we rigged up some sheets over the windows to try to block out morning light.
For the adults, we would have slept better if the mattresses weren’t so firm.
There was lots to do in the area during the day. Our stay was at the beginning half of the week, and we found out that a lot of the recommended restaurants are closed—word of warning! Between that and staffing shortage, we had a difficult time finding/getting served dinner, and may have planned differently and cooked at home more had we known.
All in all, a great destination and excellent choice for home away from home!

Consistently perfect
We’ve stayed here many times and have yet to find a reason to reduce even one star. This place is consistently perfect. If we could give it 6 stars, we would.

Beats all expectations.
This is the rare place that is BETTER than the pictures and description. Everything is pitch perfect, well appointed and thought through. The hosts are great to work with, too. A+ all around.

Lovely farmhouse, close to everything
We stayed here with our family of 4 and grandparents. It was close to the town of Waterbury, Stowe and the mountain for skiing. We checked out Montpelier, too, which was just 15 minutes away. There was plenty of space for all of us. The living area was gorgeous with views of the mountains but no cold drafts at all thanks to the super airtight windows. The kitchen is well-equipped with everything you need to cook meals. The house is a little noisy due to it being an older house but everything else was perfect.

Such an incredible, beautiful open space. The views-closeness to everything. My family and I had a great time and will def be back!

Very Nice
The house was spotless, plenty of toys for the kids, a nice selection of on-demand TV channels to choose from, and we had a really nice stay.
Only comments for other guests is that it is an old house and the wooden floors are very loud and you can hear creaking throughout the house and can wake other guests up easily.

Wonderful for a family
Wonderful for an adult family get together. Several good sized seating areas. We played games and talked the whole time we were in the house and not exploring the area.

Late summer Vermont vacation
Perfect place for a family vacation. We are a repeat client. Central to Burlington sites, hiking, breweries, golf. Hope to come in the winter sometime for skiing Thanks for a lovely stay.

Lovely, well maintained village home
Our stay at this property met--and really exceeded---all of our expectations. The house is located on a relatively quiet village road, with easy access to a range of amenities (food stores, restaurants, a large reservoir for swimming and boating, mountains). Inside, the house boasts an open floor plan downstairs, with a well appointed kitchen, ample seating for a crowd, two bathrooms and a master bedroom. Upstairs, the house has three bedrooms, one bath and laundry facilities. The furnishings throughout are tasteful and well maintained. The house also has good internet connectivity, which was essential for us because we worked remotely during a portion of our stay. Behind the house is a large lawn suitable for picnicking and games. The owner (Tyler) was incredibly attentive to our needs--he communicated frequently and swiftly, and provided helpful information throughout. All in all, this is a property that will not disappoint you!

A hidden gem in a great location!
What a great home! My family enjoyed every minute of our stay. I would love to come back during the winter and check out the slopes.
Thanks for creating a welcoming environment to enjoy a few days off from the daily grind. We had a great time hiking, fly fishing, and paddling. By the end of the week we were on a first name basis with the staff at Ben & Jerry’s.

Perfect layout for family & grandparents
This house has been beautifully restored and though “restoration hardware” in style and would be lovely for just adults, also kid friendly! We stayed with our three children (ages 5, 2, and 1 month) and one set of grandparents. Master bedroom on the first floor was perfect for the grandparents and upstairs great for family with 3 close bedrooms and bathroom with a tub. Nice touches like quality sheets and towels and a few toys and books for kids. Washer dryer on the second floor was also great for a family staying a week, as is the mud room to contain shoes and jackets. There are even kid size coat hooks! Backyard is great for running around and blowing bubbles when there is no time to go anywhere in the car and playground across the street, about a block away is also very convenient for kids. Loved the openness of the main level, but with two sitting areas so kids could watch TV, and adults could sit in the other living room area and monitor kids but also have conversation. Really a smart layout and beautiful home! Tyler was a pleasure to work with and easily available for the small questions we had while staying. He even provided access to baby gates, baby tub, and pack and play, which saved us space in a very full car! If we make it back to this part of Vermont, we will definitely stay again! One of our absolute favorite house rentals over all our years of traveling!

Perfect VT home
We have stayed here several times and absolutely love it. The home feels like a labor of love. No detail left undone and super responsive owners. It’s also a great layout for multiple families with a very smart configuration. Finally, we enjoy being central to so many activities (Stowe, Sugarbush, Mad River Valley) yet tucked away in a quiet neighborhood. Just fantastic.

Perfect VT home away from home
We absolutely loved this house. It was all the charm with beautiful updates and a open sunny feel in the living areas. It had a great set up for wet ski gear coming in and drying out in the mudroom; the kitchen was well equipped, and the spaces were perfect for two families to relax and get cozy after a day on the slopes. The house was a convenient location for skiing, shops, etc. We cannot wait to come back to this house for other VT adventiures.

This house was charming and forever memorable!
Our visit was over NY 2021. We were 2 families (4 adults, a 13 year old, and 3 eleven year olds) It was perfect! Tyler was very prompt with communicating and attentive. His direction/guidance was spot on. Location of the home was convenient to Stowe Mtn. as well as a short drive to the center of Waterbury where we enjoyed dinner at The Reservoir. It snowed the day before we left which made the home magical. We woke up to a winter wonderland. The kids enjoyed making snow angels that day. We ended our visit with the moon light snow shoe tour with Umiak Outdoor Adventures and forever we will remember 2021 Stowe getaway. Thank you Tyler for sharing your home with us. We hope to visit again some time soon.

Great VT Getaway
Great home , online pictures do not do this home justice. Beautiful wide pine floors , all the amenities we would want. We had 6 adults and two children. Board games, puzzles , young kid games. We skied at Stowe which is about 20 minutes away. Westbury has some great local restaurants as well!

Two families - everyone loved the combination of rustic feel and modern amenities
The moms raved about the kitchen and living spaces as soon as we arrived. It's bigger than it looks in the photos. The kids had a blast playing indoors and outdoors in the vast backyard. No complaints whatsoever. Tyler and Jenni have created a gem in Waterbury Center.

Wonderful property and experience. The house is very nicely configured so that you have two separate social areas. Tyler was always responsive. Would definitely return!

Beautiful Farmhouse
Overall this property was great!! Very spacious downstairs area with two sitting rooms which was great for 8 adults. Well stocked, very clean and lots of character! Thank you for accommodating our needs!!

Wonderful house for the family.
The upstairs was a little warm with only one window AC in one bedroom so for summer stays perhaps get one AC for each bedroom.
Family members were warm at night and if they closed the doors for privacy the room got too hot.

Summer getaway
Our son got married at St. Mikes, with reception at the Ponds. We decided to stay the week after to relax, unwind, explore. The Farmhouse in Waterbury Center was everything we had hoped for. The house was impeccably clean, extremely comfortable and meticulously restored/ renovated.
The location in Waterbury Center was close to everything and gave us direct access to Ben & Jerry’s, Whistle Pig Tasting Room, Artisan Coffee Cafe, Garlic Scapes and the Alchemist. We explored the Stowe Pinnacles Hike as well as the Stowe River Hike and the trail along the Winooski in Waterbury. Great dining at Pro-Pig and Michael’s on the Hill. Golf at Stowe was great.
But the best times of the week were had at the Farmhouse, with the ability to grill out and enjoy the luxuries of the home. It is everything I dream of in a vacation home.
Tyler and Jenni have succeeded in making the perfect getaway spot for any season. We hope to be back!
