Superb

Herrieden is a beautiful, charming city with a lot of storks - we saw 16 storks alltogether sitting on the roof of the Basilica. Beyond the citygate there is the small river, Altmühl, with its beautiful bridge and romantic landscape. The hotel answers every need: we spent there only one night, so we didn't need much, but there were every kind of rooms (smaller, bigger, quiet, "noisy", overlooking the garden or the road), sauna and a really big breakfast area that delighted the eye. There was also a hearty buffet breakfast with everything that one could imagine.

Our room was in the building Nr. 1. on the 2nd floor, directly under the roof, and as the weather was really hot, the room was also uncomfortably warm (without air condition). There was no elevator (but it was just being developed - so it is possible that those who travel there in September 2023 or later will be able to use the elevator also). As our windows were overlooking the main road, the traffic noise was unexpectedly disturbing - who could imagine that Herrieden had so heavy traffic?

The property located on the edge of a quiet, picturesque village, with nice views all around. The restaurant on the property had many excellent choices of beer and food. Lots of parking, nicely decorated facilities, spacious breakfast room, many delicious choices in the breakfast buffet.

Our room was the closest to the breakfast area, so we heard some noises in the morning.

Room was perfectly cleaned. Stuff is english speaking, possibility to eat supper around 22:00hrs which is not common. Great taking care of the guest.

Exceptional

We were travelling from Schaffhausen to Dresden, the hotel was comfortabely located near the highway. Although there was a grand party at the hotel during the night of our stay, the staff had enough time and attention for us also. We had nice dinner in the hotel's restaurant and our room was really quiet - the sounds from the party did not reach it at all. The breakfast was also great. Definitely recommend Hotel Bergwirt.

Great for a one night stopover

Great breakfast, close to autobahn. Comfy clean room & we were lucky & had a room with a balcony overlooking open farmland. The hotel is a 5 minute drive to town for a choice of places to eat & there is an autohof literally a minute up the road by car that has a burger king attached. Fine for a one night stay to break up your journey.

Only one gripe, on the saturday night there were 2 wedding receptions being held in the hotel. Even though we booked a table in the restaurant on arrival for dinner we were informed that the kitchen was shut as the staff couldn't cope due to the 2 functions although we were welcome to drinks. Even though dissappointed we understood so I popped up the road to get a takeaway burger. However imagine our astonishment when at 10pm a large coach arrived, paasengers checked in & then were given a meal in the restaurant we were drinking in!

Cosy overnight stop i

close to the highway A6 yet no noise coming from it. The restaurant on place. Very nice breakfast room.

Very week Internet. Window coming out straight to a street with regular traffic.
