Exceptional

Bruno at reception was so helpful with translating for our next accommodation! Breakfast was beautiful! Everything clean in room! Very pleasant and helpful staff! Highly recommend!

Friendly and helpful staff. A good strong breakfast.

I missed shelves, hangers and hooks on the walls to fold and hang things and clothes. Especially in the shower / toilet room and behind the front door above the shoe cabinet.

Electricity kept going during the night - somebody tripping a fuse in another room. Having to check in at a different location.

Great stay for starting out the Camino

Great range of breakfast items. They ordered in gluten free bread especially for me. Great location in the town and for the Camino. Friendly and helpful staff

Very comfortable stay which I only can recommend.

Acceptable room size and very clean.

If you are not a local, it is not easy to find, even with Uber/Bolt.

Great cheap hotel for somewhere to lay your head if you’re in Matosinhos!

Excellent location, friendly staff, who were extremely accommodating and polite, large room. Well-appointed bathroom, 24hr reception was a bonus.

The television was almost on the ceiling, the batteries in the television remote didn’t work - I could have asked for them to be changed, however. I was only in the room for sleeping (work trip) so it was acceptable. There were no bedside lamps and the ceiling lights are too harsh.

Pleasant

Good location, helpful staff and clean room. There was heating but it had to be on all the time.

The room was very cold and basic. The breakfast room was also cold and the breakfast was basic.

Easy to find, close to Metro

Location very easy to access, close to metro, easy to get to Porto or to airport. Shops and restaurants close by. Stuff were very helpful, they answer all my questions. Room was on the small side, peaceful.

Nice value for money room (good location)

- Great location - Comfortable bed - We were given the option to late check out (due to participation in the city's Marathon)

- Some mold on the walls due to humidity - Noise cancelation (there was none) - Very small breakfast room (poor breakfast options as well)

Great location but not so clean

The staff were very friendly, there weren't any problems with the check in and check out. The location is really great, 6 min walk to the beach, there is Lidl, ATMs and McDonald's 4 min walk from the hotel. Breakfast was wonderful - all-you can eat with some traditional pastries, jams, ham and cheese with rolls + coffee, tea and juice.

The room was ok, but the fact that the window was small and really high on the wall made it a bit claustrophobic. The bathroom walls were dirty, and there was a smell o mold in the air. The sheets were stained. Unfortunately, I feel a bit dissapointed because the whole place is really lovely.

If you have low standards go for it

Day staff was friendly and they had option for vegetarian during breakfast

Room smelled like pee and there was noise the entire night. The person doing the night shift was just doing noise like there was no rooms on the ground floor. Very disrespectful and poor experience. Room window didn't close which made us feel very unsafe about leaving our personal belongings in the room.

Great little hotel

Third time to stay at D'El Rei and found it just as friendly, clean and comfortable as before. Will certainly return again.

The room previously had a small desk/table, which was useful. I would like to see this facility restored.

breakfast was really good for the price with enough options location was nice, close to beach and just one bus to center (bus route to center was also beautiful)

It said 24 hour check in when I was making a reservation but actually we got our room at 15.00 Staff that talked to us had really poor level of english our room was looking at the street, we woke up 3 times in the middle of the night because of drunk and screaming people
