Très beau séjour.

La situation, près de tout. Un très beau complexe avec stationnement privé. Vue imprenable au petit déjeuner. Notre hôte, Jim, toujours attentionné à notre confort.

Le petit déjeuner est très bien pour un court séjour mais il est un peu limité pour un plus long séjour.

Great place to stay in Madelena

The hotel was beautiful and in a great location. The views were amazing. The breakfast was excellent, and I liked that we could eat outside on the deck. The staff were friendly and helpful.

I hesitate to say anything negative, since overall the place was so nice, but the bed was hard. I think all of the beds in the Azores were a bit firmer than I prefer, but this was harder than most. Just a one in thick foam pad would make it more comfortable.

Great friendly stay in Madalena

Great location, gorgeous views, excellent breakfast selection. Spacious and well appointed rooms.

Lack of mosquito screens on doors and windows (we got eaten alive the first minute we opened the windows), the beds were too firm for some people, loud bathroom fans.

Good!

Really nice view. The room was spacious, with two balconies, a small kitchen and a big bathroom. AC was a big plus since it was very humid and wet. It was pretty clean. Not very noisy (except for the birds/chickens outside but nothing we can do about that).

Lack of blinds made me wake up early, since the sunrise was around 6am and there was no way of totally blocking the light.

Great place and definitely would recommend.

The daily breakfast buffet was delicious. There wasn't a lot of visitors while we stayed, so a quiet breakfast was so nice. The location is perfect, walking distance to the ferry and to the main downtown. The property also has beautiful hydrangeas all over that happen to be blooming while we were there. Cristina was also very understanding while we stayed and allowed us to have a late check out due to my partner not feeling well. I would definitely stay again.

It would be nice to have a mini fridge in rooms.

Wonderful views and large rooms.

Large rooms, quiet area a 15 min walk away from town centre. Clean, spacious building, outdoor terrace off the breakfast room and 2nd floor but no chairs available. Great view from 2nd floor and above. Breakfast was basic as others have mentioned. Note, there is no bar fridge in the room. Can boil water and make tea or coffee in the breakfast room 24/7.

Bed was hard- my perception. Subtracted a star because of difficulty communicating with someone upon arrival. As others mention, there is no one at reception. I had communicated arrival time via the booking app. A phone number is taped to door but, doesn't specify if one can use data (WhatsApp) to call. If you are a non EU person with only data, it's difficult to contact someone. One morning I heard loud knocking on the door and it was people trying to get someone's attention and apparently couldn't get in touch via cell. I stayed in another place with no one at reception but they were prompt at texting via WhatsApp and asking in advance for arrival and departure times so they could send someone over.

No body at the service desk just not as nice as other A.L. .maybe next time i have a better experience. No lacctose free milk.a lot of people have allergies same r peanuta,gluten lactose and on and on these could be arranged in advance

A super villa in the middle of Madalena 😃

Big room with daily cleaning service, a nice view of the ocean and Sao Jorge island. A place where you can stay for weeks and not just for few days. Staff and owner are friendly, location is close to the center of Madalena, close to the propriety it is a big grocery store. Parking place available.

beds were very hard and uncomfortable, no USB spots for charging. it seemed to just be an expensive Hostel. next time I’d just do a hostel instead of this place. not worth what we paid.

Superb

Location & layout of building was easy & nice! Nice place!! The room was a comfortable size. Clean & a good breakfast! The coffee could have been hotter. The receptionist was very pleasant & helpful.

Sorry to say but the mattress was too firm (uncomfortable). The shower/bath tub was very slippery.

We would love to come again here!

The apartments are in walking distance from the city center / harbour / supermarket. New feeling - clean rooms & facilities, spacious. Small kitchen, with everything we needed, even ice cubes in the freezer :) Very good tasty fresh breakfast - nice terrace with view. Easy communication, great support with booking us a taxi for Pico one morning.

Nothing, we really enjoyed our whole stay in Villa Da Madalena.

Top stay in Madalena to balance amenities, CBD access

Fabulous place in Madalena. Large, clean, beautiful room with view of sea and town. Free parking; supermarket next door; and short walk into CBD. Woman running the place could not be more accommodating. I rented a car, but if you were taking a taxi, everybody knows this place. The grounds are beautiful, too, despite construction going on next door.

With supermarket next door, would have been nice to have small refrigerator for cheese, snacks.

Wish I could have stayed longer and hope to return.

Amazing views, clean, comfortable, nice breakfast, and Maria was welcoming and helpful. They can provide gluten free options for breakfast.

Wifi was weak in the room but this is a minor issue unless you need to work.

Exceptional

Nice, quiet place. Close to the supermarket (5min walk) and within walking distance to port and city center (10-15minutes). We stayed on the top floor and had a great view of both Mount Pico and the ocean with Faial island in the background :)

Exceptional

A great little hotel just off the centre of Madalena. Everything in town is within a short stroll and the rooms overlook the ocean and the island of Faial. The host Maria is very hospitable and knowledgeable and her pineapple cake is delicious. The place is exceptionally clean, the breakfast more than adequate and the area is quiet. It was my second stay there.

The wi-fi on the upper floor is weak but manageable.

Excellent option for the center of Madalena

Excellent location, in the center of Madalena. Close to the ferry port and just next to a supermarket. Nice, large and clean room and balcony with a beautiful view. Daily room clean up. Very friendly and helpful staff. And excellent breakfast is included. We stayed 4 nights and enjoyed it very much. We would of course stay again and do recommend it.

Great stay with friendly atmosphere

- Maria is such a wonderful host and I felt very welcomed during my stay. - Short walk to the supermarket next door and to the city center of Madalena. - Delicious breakfast with a variety of foods. - The villa is located on a hill and gives a gorgeous view over the ocean from the balcony of the room. - I really enjoyed having a small kitchen and a bathtub in my room.

- The bed was unfortunately really hard and uncomfortable for me. I have back and hip problems and I had to improvise with pillows in order to lie comfortable. - The wifi connection was sometimes unstable in the room.

Very nice stay in Madalena!

Amazing view! We had 2 balconies, one with sea view and one with view to the Pico Mountain. So great! We also liked the complementary tea and cakes in the afternoon, very delicious. Good location and free parking in front of the house.

The only bad thing for us was the bed :( it was really hard and uncomfortable.

Maria was the best host as she was extraordinarily friendly, welcoming, and helpful. The breakfast was wonderful. The rooms were clean and spotless. The views of Faial and Sao Jorge were fantastic, especially from the breakast area. This is the nicest place we ever stayed. 100% recommend, and we will definitely come back again when staying in Pico (and we will!). Thank you Maria! (:
