Nice hotel with great view

location , staff were friendly & room was very comfortable

that there was no soundproof at all which was annoying and with such high price ,Breakfast was not included!! not cool

Amazing stay at a simple gorgeous hotel.

The most amazing hotel! Loved everything about it - the fantastic location (those views from the restaurant balcony!), the lovely helpful staff, delicious meals at the restaurant and brewery, beautiful clean rooms, watching humming birds from the hot-tub. So many little touches that made the stay special.

Absolute dream.

Everything was absolutely dreamy. We chose Belmar to start our honeymoon off and we couldn’t have picked better. We loved our Peninsula Superior room with an amazing bathtub with a view. The food was glorious. We loved the “garden to plate” concept. We did a beer tasting at the brewery and it was great, too. My husband was so happy! The hotel staff was incredibly polite and helpful; they helped us book a wonderful excursion to the cloud forest with a picnic breakfast up in the canopy as well as a guided tour. Our guide, Daniel, was very knowledgable and had a great sense of humour. I also particularly loved the organic cosmetics provided for us (the vanilla, lavender and pepper shower gel was seriously to die for) as well as lots of amazing beverages from the room fridge including organic iced teas, kombucha and pale ale. There was no air con in the room which I loved as it tends to make me ill usually — the temperature at night was between 16-18 degrees and we slept with open windows, listening to the jungle sounds. Can you think of anything better?!

Serene, close to everything, great views.

Beautiful grounds, close to Monteverde Cloud Forest, staff very friendly, views are great, and dining was better than expected. Comfortable beds.

Everything was great. I was above the restaurant, no noise, but had to take stairs carrying some luggage. Staff carried larger suitcase but not a problem for me.

Great stay at Hotel Belmar

The hotel is amazing, placed in the heart of the mountain with a great view. The room we took was excellent, very very big, the jacuzzi in the balcony was a dream! The tours they have is really nice, we took the monteverde cloud forest tour with the best guide in Costa Rica Daniel, he made our tour more amazing with all the information he gave all the time. The hotel also have a nice farm where they get all the food from the restaurant from. The restaurant is very nice and the food is very good

The farm tour we had could me much better, the tour guide didn’t seem very interested and didn’t give much information, he looked a little bored.

Great

Absolutely my favorite hotel on our trip. It was comfortable and we enjoyed our stay here.

I guess no ac but the weather was nice and we asked for a fan. That was sufficient for us.

Comfortable.

Clean and well maintained.

Shower window should have an option block the view from the bedroom completely. Only some of the rooms had a thick blind. This is important for families with children. Additionally, I recommend having activities, like most upscale resorts.

Amazing hotel with incredible staff

Amazing hotel set in the most beautiful surroundings. The staff were so friendly and helpful, the private reserve is amazing and the distance to Monteverde Cloud Forest Reserve is also perfect for further tours. Loved the craft beer bar and watching the wildlife from the restaurant balcony.

romantic dream room in a lovely jungle with the most amazing friends and staff

Everything is absolutely perfect. we took two compliment yoga classes with Kelsey who is incredible. we had so much walking down to the jacuzzi and to the brewery one night. but what’s really incredible is watching the birds on the balcony at happy hour. we saw mot mot and toucans almond so many others!

Unforgettable stay - highly recommend!

Was an absolutely brilliant interlude in our trip. the hotel was beautiful, clean and a comforting amount of luxury. all the staff were so polite and made us feel so happy to be there. Even the cheapest room option we got was great with spectacular views. The hotel has many hidden treasures, like their wine bar by their lake, own garden and farm from which their food is sourced and their own beautiful hiking trail around the property. Free yoga every morning amongst other activities. From the 7 hotels we stayed in our trip, it was by far our favourite and an experience we still speak of. Highly recommend!

Wonderful!

Great hotel but disappointed with organised tour.

Great location. Good sized rooms. commitment to “farm to fork”. Lovely gardens and own forest.

Some staff quite robotic and seemed disinterested. Very disappointed with the nightfall tour run by the hotel in their forest. Out of 4 hours, only max of 1 hour spent walking. A lot of time (at least 1.5 hrs) wasted waiting for the rest of the group to climb ropes to the viewing platform. This is not explained in the description of the tour or the video.

wonderful hotel amidst nature

wonderful place with lots of character and comfort in the middle of nature, great service, spacious room

the loud music all over the place, even outside. Does not at all fit in with the eco-atmosphere. We came to immerse into nature!

The hotel exceeded our expectations.

This hotel exceeding our expectations in every way! The views from our room were spectacular. The bed was comfortable, the shower was big and warm, the small touches were nice. We traveled on Valentine's Day and in the early evening a staff member brought us both a small box containing 2 chocolates. It was very unexpected and a nice touch. The hotel was clean and the location was perfect. It was not in town, but right outside.

I am struggling to find something I didn't like from this hotel. The food prices in the restaurant were high compared to the surrounding area, but the food was very good. On Valentine's Day they had a gourmet meal and brought in entertainment.

only tiny things - no heat made it a bit chilly at night, and the winds made howling noises at night due to a couple windows we could not fully shut

Outstanding service and facilities but bed bugs …?

The facilities at the belmar were exceptional. The little brewery was picture perfect, the walk around the grounds and the room was great. Would 100% recommend the cocktail making class!

A friendly, family run hotel with amazing rooms in a stunning location.

stunning view, nice food and helpful staff. We did the sustainable farming trip with the hotel and loved it.

Lovely room but a bit in need of repair in a couple of places but it didn’t detract from the stunning views or the general experience and we‘d definitely stay again.

Beautiful hotel with spectacular views

I stayed in two different rooms in the Chalet building and both rooms were beautiful. They were really comfortable, the views are absolutely amazing and the rooms feel really private. The grounds are also gorgeous and there’s a lovely little microbrewery where you can enjoy a cocktail or a home brewed beer overlooking the gardens and pond. The service is excellent from the front desk to the restaurant/bar - all of the staff were so friendly and accommodating. I don’t think the pictures do justice to how nice this hotel is - I would consider it to be a 5 as opposed to a 4 star.

Given the pricepoint, I would have expected breakfast to be included with the room. Also a really small point but it would be a good to have a small table on the balcony in the cloud forest room.

We enjoyed our stay at this eco friendly paradise!

The propertY has BEAUTIFUL views! The staff is AWESOME and very accommodating. The food at the restaurant is delicious. Everything was so fresh and flavorful. I recommend doing the “Garden to Class” experience with Diego. We got to pick fresh herbs and flowers from their garden to make several delicious cocktails. The concierge service is top notch, they made tour and dinner reservations for us while we stayed at the property. Lastly, we loved using all their natural products: shampoo, conditioner, body wash, hand soap, and lotion. We purchased some to bring home!

The bed was not that comfortable. I would have liked a shade or curtain in the restroom window. It felt a bit odd to be fully exposed when using the restroom or shower since their were no shades or curtains. When the sun hit, it got extremely hot in the restroom. The room was on the second floor and had a beautiful view, I am sure no one could see me, but the lack of window coverage in the restroom and shower area made me feel like I had little privacy.
