Excellent, would go back.

Lovely location, and staff were really friendly. The breakfast was really nice with a good choice, and sensible serving times. We didn't eat dinner here but having a good range of dietary options was really good to see and reflected at breakfast too. This would encourage us to revisit. I also liked the dog friendly attitude too and so would consider bringing the dog next time. I liked the history information in the room about the Inn, and the room had all the things you'd expect (toiletries, hairdryer etc).

Pre-ordering breakfast has some advantages but the negatives are you are never sure what you might feel like the next day and so not my preference but appreciate why this is done.

Easy access to the rooms, good parking. Food very good, friendly staff.

Bar closed at 10pm.

Great place, people were super friendly, food was so good. Would stay again.

Area was beautiful, wish we had more time to explore. Food was excellent, pub atmosphere was friendly. Our room was standard, but the bathroom door was so cute. Dogs allowed!

Our bed was quite creaky, no other complaints.

Great location, nice room, easy parking, friendly staff. Very pleased with the selection of breakfast choices. Great access to local walks.

Walls to adjacent room was a little thinner than desired (loud neighbour sleeper).

Excellent location for us, could recommend The Fountain very highly, indeed. A hidden gem!

Made to feel welcome and valued right from check-in, nothing was too much trouble for anyone. Every member of staff was so pleasant and friendly. The food was excellent, really enjoyed the evening meals we had. The breakfast was efficient, cooked well even though there was a little order confusion on out first day, (though this caused us no problem.)

Not too keen on choosing our breakfast selections the night before, though.

Perfectly located for exploring the forest, fabulous facilities and lovely hosts.

The location is amazing - so much to do in the vicinity. Very comfortable accommodation, wonderful breakfast with lots of choice and very friendly hosts - highly recommended!

I don’t imagine we would stay there again.

The breakfast was undercooked the bacon was nearly raw and the lady that served us on the first morning was not particularly pleasant. The location was great as we we like to walk and also the steam train was fun.

Our bedroom was quite dated and the shower flow was very poor.

fantastic accommodation and exceptional staff, we would highly recommend a stay at The Fountsin Zinn

it was in a great location and everyone was so helpful and a credit to their profession the room was comfortable and we had everything that we needed the food was first rate and there was plenty of choice

Lovely pub with friendly staff

Lovely pub and location. Staff were friendly and I had everything I needed. Easy to find with good parking.

Being an old building it was quite noisy. You could hear the people above talking and watching TV. I travelled with a sound sensitive dog who became really stressed each night hearing the people above walking around and slamming windows throughout the night. To be expected for an old building but something to consider if you would like a quieter place to rest!

Very enjoyable week's stay and highly recommended to all, will not hesitate to re-book future breaks

The staff were friendly and helpful, and room was superbly outfitted. Meals were all excellent and chef delivered exceptional service. Our room was on the ground floor and designed for full wheelchair access from outside, with easy parking by the door. The location of the Fountain Inn is a good starting point to explore the Forest of Dean and surrounding areas of interest. The adjacent Heritage Steam Railway is an added bonus.

Although the bathroom was of a high hotel standard a heated towel rail would have been beneficial, but it should be noted that the facilities overall were nevertheless first class.
