** Summer 2024 - Cooling units (mini-splits) for the casa and casita! **
Casa de colores is a beautiful, unique property with tranquil outdoor spaces in a quiet historic neighbhorhood. Yet, it's walking
distance to the Plaza and Canyon Road. The casa blends traditional elements but has modern comforts, including radiant in floor heat, throughout, keeping it warm in winter, and efficient cooling for the summer.
This adobe home features vigas in most rooms, latillas in an expansive kitchen, indoor and outdoor kiva fireplaces, a portal for morning coffee and evening meals. The casa has 2200 square feet all on one floor. The 500 sq ft casita is on the same property with small kitchen and additional bathroom. The original date of construction is unknown but the house was extensively remodeled in 2006 with venetian plaster, in-floor radiant heat and kitchen upgrades. The walls of the house feature original art works. All on one floor, the house has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms, and washer and dryer. The property has a total of 4 bedrooms and 3 baths.
For more information about the house see (https://casa-de-colores.com/home-page/)
For stays during summer or winter, please visit this page (https://casa-de-colores.com/special-considerations/).
The kitchen is well-stocked with cooking equipment and starter coffee., and also features a large eucalyptus table, comfortable for all to gather and linger over reunion meals. The house has many private spaces so that 8 people staying will have room to settle and find a quiet corner for peace.
A portal spans the entire front of the house for cool summer evenings and morning coffee. An outdoor patio with kiva fireplace and barbecue off of the master bedroom is a guest favorite for outdoor meals. The yard is landscaped with xeric natives species, including chamisa, and aspen. There are up to 3 off-street parking spots depending on the size of the vehicles.
The house is walking distance to the spa at La Posada, or a short drive to 10,000 Waves in the foothills of the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. It is about 30 minutes from the casa door to the lift at Ski Santa Fe.

Perfect location! Beautiful house and the neighborhood was so unique. We loved the casita and spending time enjoying the garden on the front porch in the mornings. Perfect for a family vacation!

Leigh's home and casita are welcoming, clean, quiet, and very conveniently located. We stayed with our two sons, their wives, and infants. The main home was spacious and comfortable enough for my husband and me, our older son, his wife, and baby, and the casita accommodated our younger son, his wife, and baby. Leigh had a crib and high chair for our use and recommended a rental agency for the other crib and high chair, which worked out smoothly.
The property has a lovely garden and a large covered porch where we relaxed, ate, and played games. Everything is well maintained and the home and casita are comfortably furnished and very clean. My husband mentioned when we returned home that the pillow he used there was more comfortable than his own pillow.
We walked to either Canyon Road and/or the Plaza everyday from the property. It couldn't have been more conveniently located for the things we wanted to do. So many great shops, restaurants, and parks were within walking distance. We also visited the Audubon Bird Sanctuary to hike and tour the historic home there, and that was a very short drive.
Leigh was a wonderful host. The first night it was apparent that the cooling system was not functioning properly. I messaged Leigh the next morning and she was at the door 15 minutes later, and called a repair crew. The issue was resolved in a few hours and was perfect the rest of our stay. She also sent me a recommendation for a lovely walk nearby during her visit.

We walked into this immaculate home and I immediately felt at peace. It is quiet, well laid out and had everything a family of 6 could want. Our older daughter stayed in the casita with her spouse which was lovely. The master bedroom is spacious, private and quiet. We sat outside when it was warm and enjoyed the yard. The best part of our visit to Santa Fe was this lovely, peaceful retreat.

We had the best time! The house was a perfect choice for us. We were all very comfortable. The location is convenient, private and quiet. The host was very nice, helpful and responded quickly to our questions. If we are lucky enough to come back to Santa Fe, we would love to stay here again.

This home is traditional Santa Fe...well appointed and roomy. Very clean and very responsive host. We were very comfortable for a family of four adults and one child. The property is said to be within walking distance of the downtown plaza but older folks might find it a challenge as it is all uphill.

This is a wonderful property. Close enough to locations if you want to walk. It is located on dirt/gravel roads which does make walking a bit of a challenge if you have difficulties walking or would require assistance. We drove everywhere as several members of our group have mobility issues. Property was clean and well managed. Property manager was very responsive and helpful on multiple occasions when contacted. There were some user errors with the stove (couldn't figure out how to change temp higher than 400 degrees) and with the thermostat (couldn't figure out how to regulate) but all in all those were minimal 'cons' to a wonderful stay at this property. Would not hesitate to book again should we find ourselves back in the area. Thank you for adding to our awesome family memories!

Our group of college friends from way back had a wonderful time staying at the Casa de Colores. There was plenty of space inside and out to gather and reminisce. The kitchen was very well appointed and we enjoyed cooking a number of meals together. The house is beautifully decorated inside and out, and very comfortable. It is situated a short walk to town, and has a beautiful garden. Would absolutely stay here again.

It was really a remarkable home. So beautiful and so well appointed with absolutely everything. Wi-Fi is a bit spotty but a lot of that is due to the thickness of the walls which makes it cool in summer and warmer in winter. Leigh responded quickly to needs. I got Covid on the plane but that means I get a do over!

We loved this old adobe house in the old area . It had so much charm. The owner was wonderful to deal with and her neighbor Joe is a gem! He helped us a bit. We offered him all our unopened food before we left!!

We loved the location. It was about 15-20 minute easy walk to the plaza. The little neighborhood was so close to town yet felt further away with the dirt road. Very cool neighborhood. It was up on a hill. It offered privacy, we could visit on the porch at night without feeling like we were disturbing neighbors. The house was spacious, clean, beautiful. Up to date appliances, beds comfortable.

Wow! This home is a gem. Our group of 7 (family of 4 + family of 3) had a fabulous time. The main house and casita are well-equipped and we loved the outdoor spaces. While the house is a bit difficult to find, the location is unbeatable - very easy to get to Canyon Rd and the Plaza on foot or short drive. The property owner was very accommodating and responsive.

We were a group of six active 65+ visiting Santa Fe for the first time. The property is totally in character with the Southwest experience. The home is as shown in the listing. We particularly enjoyed sitting at the outdoor table for coffee in the morning and drinks at night. It’s a bit of a hike to walk to the plaza, but certainly doable if you don’t want to hassle with parking.

We had a great Santa Fe adventure and house was conveniently located near town! Beautiful property: inside was spacious and well stocked with necessities, outside was peaceful and beautiful!

We completely enjoyed our stay at this home. It was perfect for the 5 of us. Well equipped with everything we needed and close to the plaza. I would highly recommend this place to anyone!

Photos did not do justice to the beautiful house and casita.
Traditional Santa Fe style architecture with room enough for all. Minutes from central plaza and museums, convenient for getting out of town to Taos or Bandelier. We had a great time. Thanks.

This property is fantastic. A wonderful southwest feel inside and out. Love how spread out the bedrooms were so we could all have a bit of space at the end of long days of togetherness. The kitchen has everything needed-very nice that the basics were there too. I wish it was a bit warmer when we stayed so we could take better advantage of all the outdoor space. Walking into town or canyon road was an easy walk and that way folks had a bit more flexibility to come and go without needing more than one car.
Super easy checkin/out, too.
Would 100% recommend for families or couples. .

Casa de Colores in Santa Fe’s Historic Hillside Neighborhood was just as we hoped it would be and much more spacious than we expected. We enjoyed being walking distance to the Plaza and Canyon Road Arts District. It’s a beautiful old adobe that’s been well maintained and is clean and well equipped.

Gorgeous house and Casita with lots of room in a rustic area near the plaza. The owner was easily available to answer any questions. We had a wonderful time there.

Classic adobe house with diamond finish walls- great comfortable rooms for our group gathering. Kiva fireplace wonderful! Kitchen extremely well equipped. Great location for our reunion of college friends-easy walk to Santa Fe plaza and canyon road shopping. Owner and local contact very easy to communicate with. Best VRBO we’ve stayed in!

Excellent and well maintained Vrbo. Outstanding location, plenty of room, an enchanting vibe and aura. Will rent again!

Casa De Colores is beautiful, clean, spacious and well appointed. Lovely art and thoughtful touches both large & small can be found throughout the house. Both the main house and casita served our group well, with enough privacy for the more restful moments and larger spaces for shared cooking & eating together in the kitchen or enjoying the fire in the living room kiva gathered around a jigsaw puzzle. Everyone commented on the exceptional quality and comfort of the beds and linens.
Santa Fe is a unique place to visit with an interesting history, beautiful architecture and art everywhere, all with the surrounding Sangre de Cristo mountains as an indescribable backdrop. Being there during the Art & Sol Winter Arts Festival was an added plus for our February stay. Our group enjoyed so many varied activities: the many museums (most are included in the North American Reciprocity pass well worth the cost of one membership fee at a participating museum), art galleries, restaurants, poetry readings at the Santa Fe library, the Santa Fe Symphony at the Lensic, jazz at Club Legato as well as incredible skiing, both down hill & cross-country, and mountain biking on the warmer days.
Host, Leigh, was excellent & responsive. Follow her directions for getting to the house & try to arrive during daylight if possible as the driveway can be tricky to find.
If you do that and come with a sense of adventure and curiosity, you will enjoy your stay in Santa Fe as much as we did.

We had a great time. The property was exactly as described. It was comfortable and clean and allowed the whole family to relax after a long day of skiing and touring the town.

Beautiful property in Santa Fe, walking distance to “river” and galleries on Canyon Road. Beautiful Sunsets from kids room and backyard fireplace. Great kitchen for cooking for a group.

This home (& casita) was even better than we hoped. It is spacious with separation of bedrooms & baths from each other & from the living area/kitchen. Everyone in our group of 8 loved it. We stayed in December so the radiant floor heat kept us warm & the fireplace with unlimited wood was a bonus. Location was great. Do not pass up this opportunity!

We could not have asked for anything more as our family gathered in Santa Fe for the week. There were hikers and shoppers and day trippers, all enjoying magnificent weather and returning each day to Casa De Colores for the evening and a cozy, warm fire. I would not hesitate to recommend the property and wonderful Santa Fe.

Great house, but less than ideal location for walking to downtown due to steep and narrow dirt roads.

Such a relaxing vacation!
Leigh, Thank you for everything! Your house is so beautiful, and the neighborhood is very peaceful and quite! My family and friends thoroughly enjoyed staying at your place during our week long visit to Santa Fe and the surrounding area. We pretty much walked everywhere in and around the Santa Fe plaza from your house. The only regret is that we couldn't stay longer. Also, really appreciate all the dining and activity recommendations that you provided us. We will definitely stay at your house again the next time we come back to the area.

Perfect for Friends and Families
This house was perfect for our group of 6 adults and 2 children. The casita offered a private space for a couple without children, and the main house allowed the other two families plenty of space to spread out. We loved that the house had so many great areas to gather our entire group together comfortably. We especially enjoyed cooking in the beautiful kitchen, which has plenty of pots, pans, and gadgets to prepare any meal. Be sure to check the cabinets for staple supplies and spices before you hit the grocery store! Also, there is a water filter at the kitchen sink and another in the fridge.
One of our members was on crutches and needed to be driven down the hill because it was a little too far and steep to manage, but the rest of us loved being able to walk down and explore so many wonderful shops, restaurants, and museums. Despite being so close to this busy area, the house and patio spaces felt absolutely private, quiet, even remote. There is no a/c in the house, but the weather in mid-July was perfect for opening up the windows or relaxing outside; the evenings were cool enough that we even had a fire in the outdoor kiva one night.
The hosts are extremely thoughtful and provide notes around the house to ease any little difficulties (such as how to get the perfect temp in the shower), and they also provide a guidebook with house rules, WiFi/TV information, restaurant recommendations and menus, and information about other nearby attractions amenities. We loved staying in this house and are so grateful to the hosts for creating such a hospitable space and sharing it with the rest of us!

Absolutely perfect for a family vacation, great location
Casa De Colores was the perfect home for our family of six adults. Two stayed in the casita while the rest of us spread out in the comfortable and beautiful main house. We like to cook and the kitchen was wonderfully appointed; we ate around the outside table and relaxed in the little nook with the kiva. We walked to town and to Canyon Road and enjoyed the neighborhood. Leigh was gracious and hospitable with her communication. It was exactly as advertised - I hope we can return again! Thanks so much, Leigh!

Via Santa Fe
We had a great time visiting the Santa Fe area. The Casa was a wonderful place to relax after a long day of touring. The beds were comfortable and the main house was well stocked. There was plenty of room for the 7 of us to enjoy time together or apart. The home was 3/4 of a mile from the main plaza. If you haven’t been to Santa Fe, you need to put it on your bucket list!!!

Casa des Colores gets a thumbs up!
The property was perfect for 8 women. We loved the house, the owner was very responsive. Nice grounds and house. Two notes future renters: the property is difficult to locate on google maps-use instructions from owner. While the property is walking distance to plaza, it is located on a higher elevation which some of our women could not manage the climb. Fortunately, we had autos to use. So just a heads up for older folks, otherwise perfect!

A Lovely Santa Fe Stay
The house was perfect for exploring Santa Fe as well as enjoying the space together. The location, the style, the decor, the amenities were all ideal. I would highly recommend Casa Colores as a delightful place to stay. Perfection!

Absolutely beautiful home!
We had a wonderful stay a Casa De Colores! The house is beautiful with all the charm you would expect to find in Santa Fe. More than enough room for a family of five and in-laws as well. Both the main house and casita are well appointed and cozy and all within walking distance to the plaza. Highly recommend!

Casa de Colores
Casa Colores is an excellent property. It is a well-built, beautifully furnished house and casita close to downtown. It worked perfectly for us, with six women. Two stayed in the casita, so there was plenty of room. The owner was gracious and helpful when we contacted her about the heat. We had everything we needed, and I would highly recommend it for a family or group of friends.
