Nice big room with A/C and bathroom/shower. Friendly family staff
Not the perfect location but everything is close so not a big deal
5.0 / 5.0
- the staff was very nice and welcoming, and very accommodating! When we realised that we had to leave the island one day before the initial date because there was no ferry, they gave us back the money for one night without any problem :)
- the room was spacious enough and there was shelves where we could put our luggages
- we had a nice little balcony with a table where we could relax
- the wifi worked well
- the location was good, very close to the beach and city center
nothing :)

Nice rooms with AC and bathroom, cool chilling area, laundry service
Without curtains the staff can look inside the room all the time, therefore no daylight possible.
4.0 / 5.0
Rooms are fine, airconditioned.
Communal Area.
excursions are cheap via the hostel.
Please buy a large water reservoir, bottled water is bad for the environment and for our wallet!
4.0 / 5.0
good kitchen, large common area for eating, with lots of tables. Quiet area, large room, A/C worked very well. Easy to walk anywhere in Puerto Villamil, although that's true for anywhere since the town is so small. Our room was on the upper floor and was quite large, with three beds. The rooms upstairs are larger, and one has it's own small patio (not ours). There's also a couple of tables/chairs on the ground floor out front, which are right in front of a couof the ground floor rooms - great if you're in one of those rooms and want to sit outside, but maybe not as great if someone else decides to sit right outside your door.
No drinking water refill dispenser available, which resulted in us having to buy water in disposable, 6 liter bottles. This was a downer for us, and seems crazy especially for a place like the Galapagos, where everyone is trying to cut down on waste. I know it's a small thing, but for a lot of travelers having drinking water available is important and it would be so easy for the hostal to provide. The 9 a.m. checkout seemed early, but it's a common time across all the islands. In the end it didn’t affect us, because we were taking the early morning boat anyway. Oh and the coffee cups were small, but that’s just being picky!

Clean Hostal in a decent location with a good kitchen. We only stayed one night as our trip to Isabella was short but this place was very convenient.
It’s located on the better side of town closer to the muelle (dock).
The kitchen was good to cook in.
They didn’t have a water fountain, and water at the grocery store was prohibitively expensive and/or sold in tiny bottles.
3.0 / 5.0
the location of the hostal was good, the rooms clean.
the house looks like under construction. first they wanted to give us a room without window, but luckely we could switch the room.
5.0 / 5.0
It offered hammocks, a kitchen/fridge, and an area to rinse off sand separate from the rooms.
There wasn’t anywhere to fill your water bottles.

The hotel was clean. The owner was very nice, he build the whole place himself with a nice indoor garden. There is a kitchen with tables and hammocks to hang out. It's a 5 min walk from the beach and many restaurants.
No bottled water provided (it is common in the Galapagos to provide it).

Spacious and clean, comfortable rooms. Hot water. Access to a shared kitchen where to prepare hot drinks. Good location and value for money.
After we checked in on arrival, there was never anyone at the the reception in the three days we spent there. There was no option to do a late check out or any effort to accommodate our afternoon departure (despite we offered paying) and had to leave room early in the morning. When we asked if we could leave our luggage somewhere, we were pointed to an open space by the shared kitchen which had a direct access to the street via the reception that was always unattended. We were told nothing happens there and that was the only option, take it or leave it. We didn't feel comfortable leaving there our valuables, computer, passports etc and ended up just walking around the town with them until departure time.

The shared kitchen was nice to cook. The room was not very big but had everything we needed. It was a nice shower with hot water. It was very clean.
Nothing.

Great location, friendly staff, cutest pug puppy ever! Kitchen well equipped, free water refill station. Rooms were really clean and cleaned every day, hot showers, very nice flooring. Showers available to use after check out if you’re waiting for the afternoon ferry and hammocks to relax in.
Nothing!

Nice place to stay located between the harbour and beach. comfy room with a small en-suite and good air-con. Very clean and they do a laundry service!
Soundproofing isn't great.
3.5 / 5.0
good laundry service, good WiFi for Galapagos standards, hammocks in the courtyard, good location
the mosquitos were really really bad. there was no screen in the bathroom window and we think that’s how they entered the room. they bit us the whole time we were there. the hostel needs to put a screen on the bathroom window.

Excellent location. Staff was very nice. The rooms were spacious, and clean. With extra towels and sheets. Working aircon. Communal area with a kitchen and hammocks. Really good value. We loved it.
3.5 / 5.0
Not too expensive
There is a kitchen where to cook
Relatively close to town
There are hammocks in the common area
Kitchen and dishes dirty
No WiFi in our room
No hot water for the shower
Room was small and damp
Hotel owners unhelpful when we had an issue (we ended up with no money because all the banks and cashiers were out of service and the hotel refused to help in any way. We could not eat because of this)
3.5 / 5.0
Pretty comfy, well located, nice staff, and good value for money.
3.5 / 5.0
Just an okay hostel. Big beds, nice rooms. Some hammocks in the common area.
So many dogs in the neighborhood, very loud at night. Also the owners were watching television at volume level PARTY, right around midnight and right outside our window. They shut it down when I asked, but still... Not really atmospheric and didn't feel any love from the receptionists.
3.0 / 5.0
A good value for money hostel. We chose an en-suite room; it was large with a huge bed, space to put ‘stuff’ and hang clothes. Air-conditioning. Good natural lighting and good lighting at night. Free filtered water. A laundry next door that delivers back to the room. The en-suite bathroom was ok, not the best but not the worst by any means. Staff were very helpful and accommodating. We were able to use the kitchen, toilet, chilling out area after we checked out and we left our bags at the hostel for the morning prior to catching the ferry. Wi-Fi was ok. Same as anywhere on the island.
Not great pots and pans - very worn, but not unusual for a hostel. Cold showers, but hot water not always essential (nice occasionally). Bit noisy from people coming and going early in the morning/late at night; but what hostel isn’t and dogs barking in the streets are a pain, but that I guess would be everywhere.

Kitchen was fairly nicely equipped and generally clean while we were there. Drinking water provided. Only about 5 minutes walking into the main center of town as well as the beach, and just about 10-15 minutes to the port. Numerous markets & restaurants fairly close by as well. Common areas were pretty plentiful and nice. We sat out on the balcony in the front most days which was a nice area. Wifi worked ok for the Galapagos. Rooms were clean.
We used the "laundry service" - which it seems was actually just take the bag and throw everything in the washer/dryer. The price was far too high for this level of service. They put some things in the dryer which the tag said not to, there were multiple stains in our clothes after washing (seems like they were not treated at all, and just burned in by the dryer). When bringing this up the response was extremely dismissal and basically blamed us for the issues, not even a morsel of apology. Reception hours were confusing, often there was nobody there as well.
They had signs in the room saying to leave our towels on the rack if no cleaning was needed, but even after we wrote a note to NOT change the towels, they replaced them every day. Very wasteful, especially in a place like the Galapagos. Also there was no "Do Not Disturb" sign if we did not want cleaning for a day.
There was a nice balcony area outside one of the rooms but both the guests staying in that room while we were there used this as a place for drying clothing, as if it were a private balcony. Would be nice to make it clearer if this really is a private balcony for that room or put up a sign asking guests to use the provided clothesline.
Hot water was there, but inconsistent, cutting out during showers regularly.

Room and common area are nice
The owner is very grumpy and unhelpful.
The kitchen is not well equipped and don't provide any oil, sugar etc
3.5 / 5.0
large rooms, strong aircon, had a kitchen, extra large double bed
early check out 9am! weak WiFi, expensive laundry $4 per kg, kitchen was clean but lacking basic equipment, strict rules ie not allowed to even borrow a glass to use in our room, would have been nice if breakfast was available / included
