For young people

Cheap. Good location. 👍

Incredibly hot in the rooms. Too many beds. Too many people. No air flow. No AC. 👎 Uncomfortable beds. Unpleasant staff at the desk. Impossible to sleep unless you are a zombie. This place is for young people who simply do not care. Not for older people who may or may not have pain and injuries. Very uncomfortable.

Would definitely recommend before going to the airport

Nice for one night stay before an early morning flight the day after. Very nice with free airport service. Had a great night sleep and close to the shopping mall.

Nice one-nighter hostel close to airport with free shuttle and cheap price

Great location, cheap price, A/C in the room and very useful free shuttle to the airport.

Good location

Perfect location for airport. Great free airport shuttle.

Staff were ok, wasn’t clean in my room and sheets are polyester so makes body static.

Great location and service - incl. free airport shuttle!

Ex-hotel converted to dorms, which means every room has a bathroom. No trekking down a corridor to use a shower or bathroom. Superb location right next to the central square in Alajuela. Plenty of shops and eateries around. The best bit: free pick up from the airport. Nice! Staff were friendly and super helpful with information.

There are no lockers in the rooms. Just tiny ones downstairs next to reception.

A good value for a spacious room and private bath.

The staff was great with our check-in and getting a taxi for us to the airport in the middle of the night. The shower had strong pressure and hot water.

We could hear the bar from our room, but they did close down pretty early at night.

Good location for the airport, free airport shuttle, 24h reception, possibility to leave luggage there for free

Horrible staff, almost no WIFI but nice rooftop-bar

There is a bar on the rooftop that has a beautiful view and the food was very good and not that expensive. Also the shuttle to the airport was very reliable.

I have never in my life experienced a staff member being this rude and disrespectful. We were given wrong information at the airport and were confused about having to pay the shuttle. When we tried communicating with the receptionist he shut us down and talked in a very rude way to us. He told us that it is not his problem and interrupted us in a very aggressive tone. When I pointed this out he attacked me about having to lower my voice and not talk to him. After that I was on the verge of a panic attack, trying not to loose it. Ruined our whole night because I was shaky and anxious for the rest of our stay. And there was almost no WIFI in the rooms. The Check-Ins for our flights took forever.

Ok but the hostel doesn't have the facilities described

Airport shuttle was great, they dropped me off for my flight, though they don't pick up at the airport if you've not flown there. The free coffee was nice. Wifi also good. It's a good location in the middle of Alajuela.

The advertised restaurant was closed and apparently had also been the previous night, also the bar was closed. I arrived in the evening so hadn't planned to go and search Alajuela for a restaurant at night after a long day of travel. Having a restaurant and bar was literally the reason I booked this hostel but they told me every Monday it was shut. I wonder why they don't put this on the website, it just leads to disappointment since people generally just stay one night flying in and out.

The location is good for the airport and they arranged to pick me up from the airport at short notice even though they normally require 24 hours notice which was really good of them.

There was only 2 power sockets in a room of 10 beds.

Superb

Staff was very nice. Very near the airport. Nice place. Very cheap. Nice lobby, restaurant with a nice balcony and view.

No big lockers. Quite dark. Front door wsn't locked, but rooms have electronic keys.

Does what it says on the tin :)

Great value for money and obviously brilliant access to the airport. The staff were very friendly and helpful. If you need a quick stop before or after a flight just to sleep then this hostel is perfect. The beds were SO COMFY, though the ladder swung around quite a bit.

The shower wouldn't heat up and there were no lockers in the room.

Great stay if you are completely depleted of funds & just need a bed for the evening.

I booked a bed in a 4 person dorm with 1 shared restroom. I paid to have either a city view or mountain view room but ended up in a room with one window that looked into the interior of the building. The beds were awful. The cleaning crew had just left when I arrived and there was an intense smell of orange cleaning product that gave me the worst headache. The area around the hostel isn't bad but there isn't much to do. The appeal for me was the proximity to the airport. I had only planned to stay one night but after an hour or two I ended up booking a room elsewhere and leaving. I want to be clear that the staff here were totally pleasant/helpful and my choice to leave had nothing to do with the way I was treated. I would say this property is great for budget travel and is certainly passable but there are no extra's. If you need a bed for the night where you will feel relatively safe and don't care AT ALL about the state of the rooms or minor comforts, this is not a bad option.

I, personally, didn't like the entire atmosphere and room set up. However, I know others who have stayed here before and made it the entire evening but usually this is just a 1 night-running-out-of-money-but-need-a-bed kind of place.
