Every morning we loved the surprise egg dish, the homemade soft tortillas were wonderful so was
The yogurt with nuts and grains .
Nothing !the owners and staff made us feel at home, they were also very professional and helped with advise when we needed it

the property is amazing. Great location, close to everything and only 4 short blocks to the main square. There is a small church park just across the street with delicious ice cream stands, dulce and the occasional taco stand. Nice music that can be heard from the hotel courtyard.
We stayed in the 2 story suite with private patio for 2 weeks. it was the ideal spot for such a long stay. It can be loud and bustling outside but as soon as the front door closes, you are surrounded with an incredibly serene atmosphere of plants, a fountain, soft Hispanic music. You will be amazed how quiet it can be just off the street.
DONT MISS BREAKFAST! Every morning the staff cooks a delicious breakfast and it is different every day. if you miss the enchiladas suizas or heuvos rancheros, they likely won’t have it again during your stay. Good coffee, tea, fruit, granola, yogurt and toast are offered every morning.
there is also a full bottle of mezcal left on the community table each day and you are encouraged to have a sip from time to time.
Now, let’s talk about the staff. This review would be a amiss if I did not mention the staff. They are what makes this place so enchanting. the hotel has a small staff of only 10 or so people. All of them genuinely care about their work, this place and all the beings within its walls. Not only are they the nicest, friendliest crew of folks, they will go out of their way to help you in any way. -Recommendations, reservations, hiring a driver, calling a cab, laundry services, a tour of the roof on New Year’s Eve to see fireworks, a cup of tea because they heard you cough. The people here are what makes this place special.
Things to know about Mexico: the beds are a little hard but that’s not uncommon for Mexico. The water is heated by the sun. Want a hot shower? Take it in the afternoon or evening when the water has been warmed all day.

Oaxaca is a magical place and Hotel Casa Pereyra is the perfect hotel to experience it. The owners and staff are some of the kindest and warmest hosts we've ever met. They genuinely want to help you experience the best of Oaxaca.
The breakfast is outstanding. Homemade food cooked with care.
We loved staying at Casa Pereyra and were sad to leave.
Everything was fantastic, however the only improvement we would suggest is the shower. The water pressure could just be a wider Oaxaca problem though, rather than Casa Pereyra.

Hotel Casa Pereyra has an ideal safe walking location to Templo de Santo Domingo, Zocalo, Barrio de Xochimilco, Barrio de Jalatlaco and La Noria Centro Historical. I wore wide skirts and cowboy boots, the heels are wide and comfortable to stand and walk on the cobblestone streets. Casa Pereyra's entrance is guarded by a strong locked door with a small window to easily see the front desk. Someone remains in the property 24 hours to assist the guests. A satisfying cold and hot breakfast is included with the hotel stay. The staff is pleasant, knowledgeable and helpful. I was charmed by Cesar, Sarah, Juanita, Rosio, Luisa, Roselena and Dael.

The place is in the middle of the action, within walking distance of the town's core and many restaurants, museums, etc. The service can't be better; they make you feel at home. The breakfast was included, and it was freshly cooked every day!

One our best stays on our trip so far. The staff were exceptional, extremely friendly, helpful and accommodating. The location was perfect, so close to everything we wanted to do in Oaxaca. The hotel itself was beautiful, with a very calming atmosphere. Delicious breakfasts, good Aircon and clean. Couldn't have asked for more.

we had a lovely stay - the location is ideal as it’s close to everything you’d need in Oaxaca. the staff are very attentive, and made efforts to make our stay worthwhile with recommendations etc. It was a calm oasis to come back to in the evenings. the homemade granola at breakfast was a highlight

Location was prime and the owners and staff were incredible. They helped us with any and all questions or help we needed. Felt so soothing coming back each evening and sitting in their kitchen/breakfast area and drinking natural herbal tea to end the night. Eggs were made for us each morning and they even helped us get a driver for a day out of the city one night before our planned excursion. Just these small touches which really make the stay even more special. We felt very well taken care of and would highly recommend this spot!
I would say set your expectations about the outdoor space. It is really really lovely however it is a shared space. We weren’t sure what it would look like and while there weren’t many (if any really) people sitting there while we were out there, that’s worth noting. Also, the traffic can be very loud if you are sitting at the breakfast area in the mornings because it looks right out onto a busy road. Not a dealbreaker at all. Just an FYI.

There are so many good things to say about Hotel Casa Pereyra! The location is excellent. So many sites are within walking distance. The breakfast was delicious. We looked forward to the local fresh fruits, and the Oaxacan coffee was exceptional. But what we liked most were the people. Everyone was so welcoming and helpful. We received help with restaurant recommendations and reservations, transportation arrangements, directions, etc. This place is an absolute gem!

Very delicious breakfast, well located, we could walk to everywhere, the staffs are really helpful and they gave us heaps of tips where to go, eat, and how to go around, and the free mezcal they offer for the guests are so good, it's a must try.

Very cozy & relaxed small family hotel. The owners & staff attended to every detail and were very helpful with anything we needed during our one week stay. The inner courtyard was lovely for morning coffee or an evening mezcal. It also was a great buffer from the normal white noise of the city. Breakfast was made to order every day. On the days we left early for hiking trips, fresh fruit & banana bread was available to go. So convenient!
The location was perfect for us only 4 blocks from the zocalo. We felt like we were right in the middle. Historic district & higher end restaurants in one direction and all the food & textile markets in the other.

It was a truly personalized experience from start to end. The owners not only were always there to help us but also helped coordinate from dinner reservations to private tours. We always felt a warm welcome and will definitely be back if I travel to Oaxaca.

There was almost no street noise, great for sleeping!

Everything was fantastic - I cannot recommend this hotel enough. Truly, the pictures do not do it justice, and can't speak to the hospitality of the owners and staff! Plus, the entire staff was so helpful and kind - they provided restaurant recommendations and helped us book excursions for a very reasonable cost. The rooms were very clean and the breakfast was great -hey had quick offerings (like yogurt, granola, toast) or homemade (delicious) breakfasts if you have a little more time in the morning.

Adorable shared patio, extremely clean rooms, staff are genuinely friendly and kind, the beds are very comfortable, breakfast is delicious, and the hotel is in a great location. Fantastic stay!
The room description led us to believe we would have a private patio, but it was shared.

The staff were wonderful. Very helpful and personable. They made helpful recommendations that helped us enjoy the city. We also liked the large comfortable rooms and the lovely patio. it was on a busy street but very quiet once we got inside.
The rooms are s bit dark because this was an old convent and there are not many windows.

César and Sara are most gracious hosts and very helpful with arrangements. The breakfast room is pleasant. The courtyard is an oasis for taking a break. The location is a easy short walk to the cathedral, Zocalo, and pedestrian streets.

We loved our stay, and our room, and the breakfasts and all the little amenities, and especially the owners and staff, they were like a big family. It was just perfect.
There was a little kitchenette that we made coffee in but it really wouldn’t work for making meals. But honestly, the food in Oaxaca is so incredible…why cook at home?

The owners of Hotel Pereyra are consummate hosts. They already knew and addressed me by name from the first day I was there! And that level of care and attention extended throughout my stay. The owners were as happy to give restaurant recommendations or book a taxi as they were to just sit and chat. One morning I forgot to tell them I wanted breakfast, so they had some eggs "a la Mexicana" whipped up just for me! I really felt "en mi casa", as the Mexican saying goes. (They also speak fluent English! I spoke Spanish with them, which was a great time, but they had no problem jumping into English when needed.)
As for the hotel itself: beautiful! Tasteful decorations, historic architecture and tons of plants. (Despite the name, it's more of a bed and breakfast.) Surprisingly cool and quiet from the noise of the city outside (the walls do a good job of muffling noise, but do note that concerts in the nearby Auditorio Guelaguetza can still be heard, and can run after midnight!). Breakfasts were simple (continental style, eggs and beans, toast etc.) but tasty (fresh fruit, fresh salsa, homemade yogurt and juices), and served daily (the staff will ask the evening before if you plan to eat breakfast, so as to not be wasteful). Central location made it super easy to get to the Zócalo or to hop on a van to Monte Albán. My room was always clean and well-appointed; I didn't want for anything during my stay.
My only (very minor) complaint is that WiFi coverage doesn't reach the dining room, due to the thick walls. (Each guestroom and the courtyard have their own WiFi repeater to get around the wall issue. But really I should have just left my phone in my room!) And while it didn't bother me specifically that much, my mattress was pretty firm. I could see that being an issue for some guests.

This hotel is run by the loveliest family, we felt so welcomed by them and would recommend staying here very highly. The breakfast was also exceptionally good and changed every day, the fresh tamales with salsa was my favourite. The hotel is very close to the beautiful historic centre of Oaxaca, the markets, restaurats ect. Book this place if you can!
Cant think of anything we didnt like, Thankyou Cesar and Sara!

The staff is amazing! This hotel is owned and ran by a family, who are originally from Oaxaca so you get a great recommendations on places, food, history, tours, transportation, everything! The location is perfect! just 2 blocks away from the zocalo and Mercado Benito Juarez, everything is within walking distance. I highly recommend this place, it is super clean and again, it’s biggest highlight is the personal touch and customer service from the entire staff. We would definitely stay here again! :)

Excellent staff. Sara, Cesar, & Dayl treated us like family. Great location to the City Center. we never had to use a Taxi for anything in the city.
This is a family owned property where they genuinely care about the customers. There’s a homely feeling.
