Would be back in a heartbeat if I'm ever in that direction again!

In terms of the price, I knew it would be a little more as I had a pet with me, I just wasn't sure. Either way it was fine and good value for my piece of mind! As I was going to an agility comp with my dog the next day, I was up and out early, but managed to have a yummy freshly prepared breakfast which really set me up for the day! Amazing place and I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it for those with and without pets!!!

Excellent

It was excellent! We - unfortunately - stayed for one night but we could definitely stay longer! The breakfast was excellent and beyond expectations. The hosts were wonderful and friendly. Highly recommend this!

Best luxury boutique I've stayed in.

Current holders of the best breakfast anywhere on the island of Ireland and they don't disappoint. Breakfast was fabulous. Well done 👍

exciting, cosy, relaxing place with incredible staff.

The location and decor made me feel like I was transported to a different era. Staff were so helpful and the food was amazing. Hot tub and sauna were a nice touch!

that I didn’t book for another night. 10/10 no bad words to say.

Incredible.

The service was exceptional. We were made to feel welcome and were truly impressed by the room, the food and the way in which we were looked after. Murphy and his feline friends were the cherry on top!

Relaxing and comfortable stay, with excellent food offerings

We had the most relaxing and enjoyable stay! You can tell from the moment you step though the door that Steve and Joyce are focused on delivering a fabulous experience to their guests. You can see and taste the quality of the breakfast offerings and it’s such an added bonus that eggs are provided by their very own chickens. We dined in on our second night stay and opted for the 5 Course menu. Hands down the best meal myself and my husband have had in a very long time. The salad leaves from the garden was a nice touch. Our room was very comfortable and had everything we needed. Fresh milk in the fridge along with some bottled water was appreciated. Everything was spotless and good to see measures which were introduced due to Covid -19 remain as a good standard. The real stars of the show however were the welcome party - Murphy & Maggie (resident dog & cat) who I could have easily taken home! Can’t wait to visit again soon!

Honestly, nothing negative to report. Couldn’t fault a thing.

Superb food, excellent room and wonderful hosts.

The food is amazing and the owners were so friendly and helpful. Our stay was awesome and I would recommend this venue to anyone. Every meal was 5* as were the staff and owners.

Idyllic boutique hideaway off the beaten track

Amazing service. Before we even arrived, we got a call to check for food preferences and any other requests. At the hotel, everything was handled professionally and proactively by the friendly staff. The room itself was amazing - we stayed in the loft room, where the jacuzzi had a view over the nearby meadows. And the cats, dog and chickens were impeccably behaved too!

As I write this, I literally can’t think of anything that could have been better

Come here for a truly relaxing and high quality experience.

We felt very lucky to come across this gem. We felt cosseted from the moment we stepped in the door. Quirky, luxurious decor. Glorious garden tended by Steve; wonderful meal prepared by Joyce.

Everything was great but I would caution you that, if you want dinner, you generally need to book in advance. And that dinner is a top range experience for a top range price. A real treat.

A hidden gem the perfect balance of romantic, pristine and cosy.

Absolutely everything about this stat was beyond perfect. Steve and Joyce were exceptional hosts also and their property exceeded all our expectations. The food, the setting , the ambiance and interiors of the house and most importantly the animals.. it was like a Christmas wonderland. We couldn’t recommend Blackwell house enough. Our stay here was most certainly the highlight of our Christmas, we cannot wait to return.

Nothing. The only complaint is that we didn’t stay long enough.
