We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 night stay at Newton Cottage and would highly recommend it.

The house is beautiful and Newton is very quiet and peaceful. Our room overlooked the garden with a sea view. Our hosts were extremely welcoming and made us very comfortable. The continental breakfast was delicious with a great choice of cereals, pastries, fresh fruits, cheeses, cold meats, cooked eggs and fresh coffee all served in their beautiful dining room overlooking the garden. Our room was cosy, clean and beautifully decorated with a comfortable and spacious bed. The attention to detail was excellent and much appreciated.

The property is lovely. The hosts were very helpful and there were lots of nice extra touches such as tea and cake waiting in the room and Molton Brown toiletries. The breakfast was also really good. We would definitely return.

An excellent venue. Clean and comfortable and with friendly and engaging hosts. 5 star.

Newton Cottage way exceeded our expectations. Very conveniently located in relation to the friends that we were visiting in Porthcawl. Very comfortable room and excellent breakfast. We loved it that our hosts, Jane and Jonathan treated their guests like family. Very engaging but also respectful of privacy. We fully expect to return :)

To find any negatives would be mean spirited. This is an excellent venue with great hosts.

Perfect place to enjoy south Wales (Cymru 😀)

Beautiful cottage over 300 years old. Owner are amazing and gave us lot of useful tips. Perfectly clean, silence, spacious room. Breakfast fantastic one of the best ever had. Perfect location if you like golfing surfing or hiking.

Everything, The reception was very friendly and inviting, the room excellent and the breakfast more than adequate. Location very good for both visiting Porthcawl and strolling around the local area, very restful.

Absolutely everything - beautiful house and room. Delicious breakfast and, most importantly, fantastic, friendly hosts. We could have easily stayed longer despite the horrendous weather (which no one can control!)

Superb

The most delightful and considerate hosts. Top floor suite as we call it was so comfortable and relaxing. We felt quite spoilt! A rather tall husband had a bit of a sore head will low beams in places. We would definitely stay again when in the area.

We would only say it was missing a shower but it wouldn't stop us booking again.

This is an exceptional property which is tucked away in a quiet corner of Porthcawl, however once you know where it is you will want to return to enjoy another stay in this charming house. The room was a good size with a lovely view over the garden and the bay beyond. There were many thoughtful touches provided such as tea coffee and milk and homemade brownies. (plus a coffee machine) The breakfast provided in the breakfast room was just so lovely - eggs anyway you want plus cereals fruit and choice of yoghurts and a range of cold meats and cheeses. This place is simply fabulous and we highly recommend it

it was amazing. we are going to book again soon. can't wait to go back

it was large and spacious, clean, welcoming and homely. we were welcomed in the courtyard by the hosts. a lovely gesture. They made sure we were made to feel at home, showed us around. the rooms were on the top floor, so quiet. the rooms were large and spacious with the bathroom next door to the bedroom. we liked that very much. it had the biggest Bath which was pure luxury. Milton brown toiletries were left for our use which again added a touch of luxury and smelt divine. Breakfast was the best I've ever seen. fresh fruit, yogurt, vast array of cereals, croissants, ham cheese, homemade jams and marmalades. toast, eggs, smoked salmon. it was just the best!

The warm reception, incidental interesting conversation, beautiful location with an evening walk to the beach, the attractive room with garden view, comfortable bed and llittle extras and the excellent breakfast.

Absolute belter

Everything! From start to finish it was an absolute pleasure. The premises was amazing, the owners were delightful and couldn't do enough for you, the room was fantastic and had lots of little extras to make it even more enjoyable and the breakfast was absolutely superb

A quiet gem of a place.

The house was a lovely house full of character. The accommodation was amazing and beautifully clean. The breakfast was delicious in front of a roaring fire. The owners were so friendly and kind and full of information as to local facilities. We would highly recommend this accommodation and hope to come back ourselves.

Lovely place

The stay was lovely and the owners couldnt have been more welcoming.

The very top floor bedroom was cold thro the night and early morn. Only a small radiator. A small heater would help.But other than that a great stay, very clean.Lovely Breakfast.Arrived to lovely homemade cake in our room.Thank you so much :-)

it was very very good. The hosts were nice and friendly Very welcoming. The property is lovely. The beds are comfy. I slept soundly The breakfast was delicious and really well presented. I think Jonathan and Jane (our hosts) have gone that extra mile adding the little touches often missing from other places All in all top notch

The best night away we have had so far!

Our stay here was amazing, the property was beautiful and Jane was a lovely host. The breakfast was an incredible selection of cereals, fruit and yoghurt, eggs, toast/croissants, and a spread of meats and cheeses. A minute walk away from a pub called 'The Jolly Sailor' which does amazing food and drinks, and not too far from a beach. Can't wait to visit again and would recommend to anyone looking for a relaxing time away.
