Locatie is redelijk voor mensen die het nachtleven willen bezoeken.
Communicatie verliep moeizaam.
Totaal geen flexibiliteit en klantgerichtheid.
Prijs-/kwaliteit is ver beneden maat.
Doe jezelf een plezier en gun jezelf iets meer (voor een klein beetje extra).

The Martini Hotel is a beautiful hotel and the hostel is attached to the hotel which is really handy! The check-in was quick and smooth and the staff is friendly.
The bathroom was really tiny. I had trouble turning around and not bumping into things.

proper pillow and bedding - linen was ok
room had a window
central location
tiny room and really tiny bath room
really uncomfy beds with crossbars under the mattress - bunkbeds
it was really loud

The Hostel is in a fantastic location on the Zuiderdiep, within 15 mins walk of both the station and the city centre, and literally across the road from many cafes, restaurants and bars. For the price, this is the best you can get.
You also get lino floors (not carpet), plastic-inset bathrooms, and beds/curtains that aren't particularly old. This means a big plus for obvious cleanliness. (Especially if compared to the rather old and dusty fittings in the adjoining hotel, where the rooms are however much larger.) Good hot water, and reasonably comfortable beds. This room had power outlets at both of the bunk beds, as well as small reading lights.
You can also eat your dinner in the large kitchen/lounge area.
The check-in staff are helpful.
But since this is a hostel, bring all your own soaps, shampoo etc, and don't expect anywhere to hang your clothes other than hooks on the back of the door.
The bathroom and shower are tiny and would be impractical if sharing the bunk room with a stranger. There are additional bathrooms in the hallway, though I haven't looked at them.
There is a lift, but also many sets of one or two stairs on the way to the room.

The breakfast was superb! Lots of variety and a nice coffee machine with several options.

Basically all was ok
Breakfast was insufficient. Also I expected a room with 1 standard bed, but I was given a room with 2 double-decker beds. No free space.
3.6
Bathroom too small.

room way too cold.

Second time staying here across the space of 4 years. Friendly, welcoming reception staff (at the Martini Hotel next door as the Bud Gett reception is being refurbished?) Good location for the railway station & just steps away from dozens of restaurants, bars, a supermarket and the Martinitoren. Plenty of charging sockets including near the (bunk) beds. Clean bathroom. Plenty of loo roll. Hot water. Towels provided in the private room.
Two stays in a row, the room has been absolutely freezing. There is heating, but it takes a while to kick in, then, it gets unbearably hot/stuffy. It would be nice if the rooms could be a pleasant temperature on arrival for guests. The rooms are VERY basic. The bathrooms are tiny (shower just a couple of feet wide!) Similar to what you would get in a ship's cabin/overnight sleeper train. I was aware of all this before booking and chose the room as it met my needs (safe, quiet, clean, great location) The price/quality ratio is poor (I find this to be the case across the Netherlands). This place won't be for everyone. It's not homely, romantic or glamorous. But if you just need a bed for the night and don't want to pay double in a low to mid-range hotel, this is worth a go for solo travellers/relaxed couples.

It's a hostel, so pretty basic, but also very good value for money if you just need somewhere to crash. Very close to supermarkets, cafes, train station. You can also buy breakfast in the adjoining hotel.
The room was fine, though what I booked as a single room was actually single occupancy of a triple room. Bed linen and a towel are provided, but byo everything else. The bathroom lighting was very good.
WiFi worked well, though I had to reconnect several times.
The ensuite bathroom is a kind of plastic pod in the room, and had a bit of a smell of drains. But clean enough and decent shower.
The water from the bathroom tap was slightly brown.
Note that you enter and check in though the Martini hotel. There weren't many staff around, so check-in was slow.

My stuff was stolen from my suitcase in the dormitory room. The lockers smelled bad. My suitcase could not have fit into a locker.

Friendly staff. Amazing location.

Location
A hostel with minimum service....not even a soap
3.6
Had to make up the bed myself.
3.6
Clean room. Central location.
The wifi was so bad that I often got disconnected after a few seconds. The check-in was not so smooth as the hostel's system had been supplied with the wrong booking details. The hostel was noisy on weekend nights as guests ran shouting through the hall at e.g. 3 am.

Location, staff was friendly
The lock of the room door was broken and they told me that it would get repaired -but that never happenned during the 6 nights I stayed. There were stains (blood) on the bedsheets, every night they turned a very noisy machine on (like a washing machine) until morning. The lighting was horrible, impossible to read something at night times. No chair or table in the room.
