Très chouette !

Un lieu fabuleux au milieu de marais dans la montagne ! Très surprenant ! L’artiste qui nous hébergeait était charmante !

Voir avec le voisin pourquoi il laisse son chien aboyer toute la nuit ! On aurait pu fermer la fenêtre et mettre la clim , c’est un peu notre faute …

Nice location, up a quiet lane among woods and meadows. A 20 minute walk or shortish bike ride from nearest bar/restaurant and bakery, both very good. Hondaribbia, a bit further away is a characterful place, plenty of great eating options. The property is interesting, lots of the owner's artwork on display, and the owner herself was very friendly and helpful.

To be clear, contrary to some other reviews, there's no breakfast available, so you need to bring your own, or go out. There's limited tea and coffee (it's instant) and you have to ask for milk. The beds are very soft, that's a personal thing I suppose but I prefer a firm mattress. The rooms are not ensuite, you share with others; for the price I would expect your own bathroom. The WiFi does not work, it was impossible to get online. The owner explained that they are due to get fibre broadband next year, but again for the price I think you would expect that as standard.

The hosts are artists, and that shows in every detail of the accomodation, inside and outside. It's not a place to sleep, it's a masterpiece. Also - it's very quiet.

I can really recommend this place!

The owners were extremely kind. We immediately felt at home. They even guided us to a farm nearby so that our son (2 years old) could sit on a tractor! The room was also very clean and the location is perfect. Close to the beach and San Sebastian as well!

Amazing rural house and hosts, relaxing stay, clean and tidy.

We love to stay in Paperkienea, it’s a rural house with so many beautiful artistic details and also beautiful views, you can even go for a walk around the area. All the house and rooms are very clean and comfortable. I loved the plants around the house and Hilda and Joe are the most adorable host, very artistic both and they have a beautiful pressed paper studio. They are very helpful and kind and always willing to help with anything. it’s very close to Hondarribia city centre.

If you're bad at driving backwards, this is not the place for you. The road to the house is very small and pretty often there are cars coming. You have to drive backwards on a very small road pretty often. That's my only point that I did not like.

Quiet retreat in the country, but still close to town

Very quiet and relaxed accommodation in the hills above Irun. Comfortable spaces for socializing or just being alone. Owners onsite and very caring. Nice breakfast of juice, coffee, fruit, toast, meat, and cheese.

Earliest breakfast time was at 9:30, so plan accordingly if you want to leave early.

The hostess was very helpful. And it was great to be able to have breakfast there before we Started out 32km Camino to San Sebastian that day.

Neighbor has some dogs that barked a bit too much. I should’ve closed the windows and turned the fan on the air conditioner unit.

A restful stay in the mountains.

What a great welcome from Kikis! She couldn’t do enough for us. Our room was immaculately clean and had a stunning view of the mountains. We explored nearby Hondarribia, which is well worth a visit. I loved all the artworks around the house, made by Kikis and her husband. The breakfast was just what we wanted- with stewed figs from their own tree, yoghurt, cheese, tomatoes, toast and excellent coffee. We are coming back!

We were happy with everything.

Relaxed and welcome

Tasty breakfast, but most importantly the hosts were really great. Lovely people that make you feel at home right away! Looking back, it's sad that we had a tight schedule and planned only 2 nights here, we could've easily stayed longer.
