About this villa rental
A large traditional Bastide on three levels, expertly renovated and furnished to a luxury standard. An apartment is located on the ground floor with internal and external access. A feature of the Bastide, located near the main entrance, is an ancient Lavoir converted to a fish pond and surrounded by decking. The garden on the south side is laid to lawn with olive and fruit trees and flower beds but the main feature is a large free-form infinity pool and beach. A high level plunge pool is a central feature. Large terraces surround the house and pool, a shower room,summer kitchen with gas BBQ and a Boules court complete the outside facilities. A veranda running along two sides of the house at the first floor level provides a large terrace for outdoor living and shade at the ground floor level. Distant sea views can be seen from the garden and terrace. Ample garden chairs and tables are provided. The property is hedged around the boundary and there is a large parking space.
Local amenities: Roquefort les Pins has quaint local shops, a supermarket and restaurants offering excellent value beside superb cuisine (Auberge du Colombier was featured in British Airways magazine) and La Table de Mon Moulin is a fantastic gastronomic experience and the old mill is charming.
The villa is 10 minutes by car to the the lively medieval village of Valbonne with its many restaurants, galleries and shops and lively Friday market.
Things to do: The village of Roquefort adjoins the Opio-Valbonne golf course with additional golf courses at Biot, Mougins and Mandelieu all within easy reach. The amenities are varied: Tennis clubs (at Le Vignal at Opio, Villeuneuve-Loubet) horse riding (St.George at Villeneuve Loubet, Plascassier). Some of the most spectacular walks of the Cote d'Azur are all on the doorstep.

As others have said the photos somehow don't do justice to this beautiful house, not because they're inaccurate but more that they fail to capture the warmth and feeling of it. The garden and pool are just great, so much space and choice of outdoor seating - I'm not sure we managed to try them all! Fabulous views from the terrace by the kitchen, I think I watched the sunrise every morning from the master bedroom! Because the house is also a home it is incredibly well provisioned, furnished and thoughtfully curated. Our 17 year old son is a cyclist and the area is perfect for those who love hills! Our daughter had a great week at the Morataglu tennis academy which is just 15 mins drive away. The coast is only 15-20 mins drive so it's easy to explore the beautiful beaches and towns. It's also well placed to visit the many stunning mountain villages, Biot and Valbonne were our favourites. Our holiday was made even better by Blandine who greeted us on our arrival (despite being so much later than planned), she was so friendly and welcoming and immediately sorted any questions, including finding cycling friends and booking a tennis court. She went above and beyond what is usually expected of a property manager. We'd love to return next year if we can!

We stayed here in early July 2024. The property exceeded expectations in all respects, it looked good in the photos, but it was even better in real life. It was clean and private, with lots of different areas to hang out in.
Just hanging out by the pool was great, but there is also plenty to see and do in the area, and Blandine was particularly helpful with advice, our only regret is some of the trips we made that we didn't get her advice on before (like don't go to Grasse, go to Eze instead).
Anyway, even though it was a bit of a long trip for us from New York, it was well worth it, and we would love to come again.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and did not want to leave! Exceeded our expectations and it is difficult for pictures to sum up the beauty of this home, pool and garden. House is full of character, comfort and attention to detail. It was spotlessly clean and the welcome treats much appreciated.
We especially loved the top notch outside kitchen and terrace with wonderful views. It was hard to tear ourselves away to do some sight seeing! This beautiful revived farmhouse surpassed all of our expectations! We all gasped when we arrived... the decor and surrounding property were pristine, and showcased the love that the owners have for the magical place they call home.The little town of Roquefort-Les-Pins was very quaint; with locals that were more than helpful and very friendly. We used this home as our base to travel to surrounding towns; some of our favourites included Nice, Monaco, St Paul de Vence, Eze, Cannes, and last but not least, the little neighbouring town of Valbonne. A must see! We were all sad to leave, but hope to return one day... Many thanks to the owners and property manager for your attention to detail and for always being available with anything that we needed. Your advice for places to visit and restaurants to eat at were fantastic!

The property is every bit as beautiful as the photos suggest. The garden and pool are idyllic and immaculately maintained. The house itself is delightful; so many personal touches make it a home from home. We had a fantastic time exploring the stunning towns along the coast and inland. We always looked forward to returning to the tranquility of the villa. Blandine was always available if we had any queries whatsoever. All in all, a wonderful family holiday at Stella Maris.

Wow, what a property.
Besides its stunning appearance (the photos do NOT do this place justice, and we knew it would be luxurious, but wow - it's jaw-droppingly beautiful!) - there was absolutely EVERYTHING you could possibly need for your stay - we didn't need to buy anything other than food and drink! You'll find dishwasher tablets, toilet roll, tissues, shampoo & conditioner, washing up liquid, BBQ grill cleaner, soap, every utensil you can imagine in the incredible outdoor kitchen (and the multiple other kitchens!), First Aid kit, multiple hairdryers, all the washing liquid/stain removers for clothes you can imagine...these things not only save you a few pennies, buy it just continues the theme that everything had been thought of for the guests. It was spotless throughout and so much thought had clearly gone into renovating and decorating this family home.
We will probably come back next year, as we also discovered the gorgeous local village of Valbonne and a fabulous Bistro restaurant on the last night nearby - which we probably would have eaten at every night if we'd found it sooner!
Overall one of the best holiday experiences I've had.

Beautiful and stunning house with the most fantastic original features to keep the French old house. Outdoor kitchen was our place to do ALL meals. Great pool and big house with separate apartment in the basement to a couple. We will recommend the house to all and it´s close to beautiful small country areas and grocery.

Voor de tweede keer in dit schitterend huis verbleven. Zeer vriendelijk te woord gestaan door zowel eigenaars als gastheer. Het huis heeft alles voor een perfecte vakantie aan de Côte d’Azur. Het is bijzonder charmant en stijlvol ingericht. Wij vonden de uitgebreide buitenkeuken ook een groot pluspunt, evenals het mooie zwembad.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this property. It was amazingly well equipped, offering everything we could need for a stress free stay. The house and pool are beautiful and welcoming. We especially loved spending warm afternoons in the pool. Ed was helpful when we needed to contact him.

Flot bolig med unik indretning
Vi boede i 14 dage i Stella Maris huset. Huset er utroligt smukt og indrettet med spændende detaljer fra Middelshavsregionen. Udendørskøkkenet er super og poolen meget smuk. Beliggenheden er 5 min i bil fra byområde, så man skal absolut have en bil for at komme rundt. Der er mange interessante steder at besøge i alle retninger fra huset.

Lovely and well equipped house
We've spent a lovely week with our friends in Jo's house. The house is charming and very well equipped. We've spent most of our time outside, especially in the outdoor kitchen. We loved the house and hope to come again soon. Also the communication with Ed was easy.

This is the most amazing villa we have ever rented. Here is an atmosphere that is absolutely top notch. This is due to a mixture of the decor itself but also the tranquility, the pool and the area. We and the kids will love coming again. Thank you so much for your hospitality.

Lovely house
The house is lovely, very well located for sightseeing and only a quick car trip from the airport. The property Manager was very helpful. There is a lovely patisserie in the town and a lovely restaurant named Auberge at the roundabout by the supermarket and a few other nice restaurants within 3 to 4 minutes drive. We had an excellent holiday but a couple of things to be aware of......the owners are about to instal aircon in some parts of the house. It really needs it. It was going in just after we left so should be operating now. There are lots of stairs in the property. If you have small children or older people in the group it's worth considering. Not villa related but may be useful......car hire queues at Nice are horrendous. If you can book anything with "priority" status it's worth doing. We didn't and waited 2.5 hours to collect a car.

Fabulous property in a great location!
We spent a very relaxing week in this beautiful home. Perfect family getaway with lots of lovely surrounding villages to visit. The pool was especially fantastic for the kids!

Spacious and comfortable
The house and gardens are even bigger than the pictures let on. The many kitchens are all really well-equipped. The outside kitchen in particular (equipped with barbecue, gas hob, fridge/freezer, dishwasher, microwave, etc.) was a big hit with our party and made it so easy to eat outside on the ground floor without having to carry dishes and food up and down stairs.
The bedrooms were very comfortable, albeit a bit warm at night as we kept the windows shut and fans on to avoid mosquito bites (to be clear there were mosquito nets above the beds on the 1st floor, but they're not everybody's cup of tea. Air con or nets on the windows themselves would have been absolute perfection).
The house itself has a really homely feel to it and is decorated with artifacts from all around the Mediterranean. The pool and jacuzzi were really lovely and did wonders at the end of a very hot summer day (they're also lit at night until about 11:30pm, practical for an evening swim).
I would definitely recommend this villa to anyone looking for some relaxing times in a charming setting.

Picturesque Historic Farmhouse with 5star luxury!
It is very apparent the talent, time and care the owners put into this place to make it as special as it is. It was both a great home base as we toured nearby towns as well as it allowed us days to relax and soak up the lovely weather & peaceful grounds. My favorite was the outdoor kitchen! And the herb garden. And the hammocks, lounge chairs, manicured lawns & gardens. The luxurious bathrooms .... Everything was perfect. Only wish was air condition. We had a couple hot & muggy nights and keeping windows and fans on during night was fine except it also let in pesky mosquitos. Mosquito nets were quaint but I personally couldn't sleep with them. Overall would recommend this for families ( my kids loved house as much as I did!) as well as romantic getaway.

We verbleven een week in dit schitterende huis. De inrichting zowel binnen- als buitenshuis is met veel aandacht voor detail en smaak gedaan. Het zwembad is fantastisch, net als de buitenkeuken, het dakterras, de slaapkamers, eigenlijk alles. De ligging is erg gunstig, diverse leuke plaatsen in de buurt, maar eigenlijk hoef je de deur niet uit bij een huis met zoveel luxe. Wij raden dit verblijf iedereen aan.

Amazing place - lovely space for a holiday
We loved our stay in Stella Maris – the house is amazing and a wonderful personal decorated place to spent your holiday.
Everything was perfect. The warm welcome and introduction to the house by manager Jo gave us the best start. Lovely to have already cold drinks, bread and fruit as a welcome gift.
Every room was special and very nice – lots of towels in every bathroom and by the pool.
We enjoyed all the different spaces – the lovely pool, the many terraces, the pool kitchen, the inhouse kitchen with easy access to the best terrace with the amazing view.
Lots of space for our family – 2 adults and big “kids” aged 20,19 and 18 – we all loved the pool. But also that we could make easy trips to Cannes, Antibes, Monaco and Valbonne.
We would love to back again.

To start the holiday smoothly by being met and shown around upon arrival is a great bonus and saves so much precious holiday time. As well as being the most relaxing and gorgeous home to stay (we really felt like we were living in our dream home) it’s so well located – St Paul de Vence, Grasse, Nice, Cannes, Antibes, Valbonne and their associated markets and of course Roquefort-Les-Pins itself.My husband and I are going back later this year which has prompted me to finally write this review, I’m replaying our time there and just can’t wait to get back. This time we’re going with my parents – the beautiful self-contained ground floor apartment will be just perfect for my parents, with the advantage of internal access to the rest of the house. Truly Exceptional Home
We’ve had many holidays in great locations with all the necessary boxes ticked by the property we’ve rented but we can still miss the comforts of home and wonder why we’re paying to stay in an inferior bedroom to our own – This was Not the case with this absolutely wonderful home. The taste and décor are exquisite with lovely personal touches throughout. You really get a taste of the places the owners have travelled to and you feel like you're a guest in their home and they've just briefly popped out.
It’s generously furnished, from towels to linen through to the kitchen, including a stock of spices – so thoughtful.
Photos really can’t do this beautiful home or its location justice, it commands spectacular sunrises, the light is incredible, veranda wonderful and like the whole house, the Venetian and Turkish quarters really have the most incredible attention to detail. The outside kitchen is an additional bonus and again, generously stocked with spices.
It doesn’t just stop there though - Jo the manager was such a reassurance, especially when our car broke down. Even if we spoke French it would have been a complete hassle to try to find a garage, so thank you Jo.
We can’t recommend it highly enough, we love to visit new places each year but with this utterly unique home we might just make an exception.

We spent a week with some friends in this villa beginning of Aug and it was fantastic. The attention to detail in the rooms and villa is amazing. The perfect holiday for all of us that wanted to relax.

Super summer 09
We spent a quiet, relaxing fortnight in this impressive family home. Initial impressions were that the description badly undersold the place. It is a well appointed villa with every kitchen appliance and utensil we could ever need. We had barbeques on the superb table under the arches, breakfasts on the terrace and dinners in the main sitting dining room. Everywhere you look there are places to sit and relax - loungers and hammocks by the pool; little tables tucked away in alcoves, under arbours, on the boule pit; armchairs in the living room and the library and a writing desk too.
It is well situated for driving up and down the coast between Cannes and Nice or into the hills to see Grasse and other beautiful hill towns.
The two teenage boys were happy with the wireless internet connection and if we'd thought about it I guess we could have taken our Sky card to use in one of the four boxes connected to widescreen TVs. Instead we watched a couple of the DVDs from the house and a couple of our own. Mostly we lounged about the place with drinks listening to the grasshoppers.
I think the description of the house has been updated now but it is still difficult to explain how comfortable it made us feel. Suffice to say we'd love to go back and chill out for another fortnight.
