Nice location which was let down by a damp and grubby property. It could have been a lot better.
Everything was provided. Rear garden was good for the dog. Excellent location for dog walks out the back of property. Haltwhistle has everything you need with good transport connections.
Property was not very clean. It needed a complete and thorough clean. Also it was really in need of a redecoration in most of the property. It was distinctly dirty, dusty and grubby in all areas. There was a strong damp smell especially in the kitchen area which was very offputting especially when you were preparing food.

Cottage was adequate for the price paid, but could be improved with the addition of a few extras.
Location was good. Easy access to Hadtians Wall.
Lack of hot water in kitchen and bathroom basin. Shower fine, frayed iron cord, lack of power points in kitchen.

Loved the garden setting. Quaint little cottage. Reasonable utensils to use.
The mattress was very springy and there were cobwebs.

Very good
Perfect place for walking the wall.
Because it was wet and cold Electric fire and heater in front room wasn't working, so a bit nippy, and heater in second bedroom does fall off if touched, should of reported it but not one for complaining, but the kids and I would definitely stay again.

It was a lovely cottage which suited out needs very well.
It was a nice location. Close to a busy road but you didn't notice. Easy walking distance to the centre of the village and local attractions easily reached by car.
The kitchen were a little bit tired but as we were out for most of the time this was not a significant issue for us.

A very well located tired cottage in need of improvement
The cottage is easy to find if a little tight getting down the lane to the very small parking space, but causes no problems if you are careful, the cottage is a short walk from the town centre. Haltwhistle is the perfect location if visiting Hadrians wall and the other walking areas close by, also very close to the A69 so direct routes to the rest of the country is easy. Haltwhistle as a town has all of the amenities you need, including a Sainsburys and Co-Op supermarkets, a good number of pubs and other shops, and within easy reach of Carlisle for anything larger. Daughter and grandadughter said the bunk beds were very comfortable and if it starts to get a littel cold the electric heaters works very quickly to heat the small rooms.
When we first arrived the strong smell of rampant damp as soon as we opened the door is what hit us. This also happens everytime we went out until we figured to leave the bathroom window open while out reduced the smell, but it reduced after a time when you set the heating on. We found an uncleaned frying pan and tinfoil in the oven when we came to use for the first time, the hob and oven take some getting used to in how they work if more used to gas appliances. The TV had no remote control and the Sky box is very basic in channels, it takes getting used to but you can use, but the sound is hard to hear clearly. Double bed has seen a lot of use and is starting to dip on each side.
