Location good facilities bad
Only the location was better apart from it nothing we liked about the room and stay.
Booked double bed but we got 2 single beds joined. Room was not clean, dirty sink and bedroom chairs were dirty. Unable to buy drinking bottled water in the hotel.

Our stay was pleasant and comfortable, albeit slightly disturbed by the evening fire alarm..
Staff were friendly and helpful - happy to look after luggage, well in advance of check-in time. Room was clean and comfortable. Although the location was a bit away from the city centre, the surroundings were pleasant and interesting.
There was a fire alarm in the evening which I felt could have been better managed. Residents were left to mill around outside for quite some time with a distinct lack of communication from staff. A specific assurance of safety had to be sought from Reception staff, on re-entry..

Miserable esperience in a grubby hotel with rotting food in the drawer, with staff who don't care.
I was there for The Fringe so location was importnat and price. It still wasn't cheap and it's 45 mins walk from the main part of the fringe.
It's grubby. Propper deep down dirty. I was on the 4th floor, and I knew that I was on that floor every time I got out of the lift as there was a huge brown stain on the floor. I don't know what it was, but it was vile. My room was old and tatty and smelled like someone had been secretly smoking in it, but they had tried to cover the smell with too much acrid furniture polish. There was also a strange, funky smell. I looked in the drawers and found a half-eaten takeaway meal left days ago with two metal spoons clearly knicked from the canteen downstairs. The shower curtain was covered in black mould, and the carpet had not been cleaned. The bed was incredibly lumpy, and the pillows were not at all soft, so with just one pillow, I felt I had a crick in my neck. I considered sleeping in the armchair (not the floor, as it was so dirty!). That's how uncomfortable the bed was. I told reception about the meal in the drawer and the black mould, and then I was out for the day. When I returned, they had changed the shower curtain, but the half-eaten rotting meal was still in the bin where I put it. Miserable. It was too late to change rooms. The next day, I asked for the room to be cleaned, and again, I was out all day, and when I got back, it hadn't been cleaned. Rotting food still in the bin. Staff at the front desk were surly and quite grumpy. Lots of people were smoking by the front door, and the smoke was blown into the dining area, so I decided not to eat there. I felt like I was complaining, but really, they didn't care at all. I would not stay here again.

Doesn’t provide good value for money
Wifi and breakfast is charged . I have never seen a hotel that charges for wifi - even the smallest places in India has hotels that would offer free wifi. Breakfast and dinner buffet is over priced .

Buon hotel a Edimburgo
La stanza era ampia. Il letto era molto comodo.
