Just great can't wait to return

The property is just what I look for when I'm traveling. So charming on the lakeside and all the history and gardens. The only comment I would make would be to upgrade the outdoor furniture from molded plastic to something more in keeping with the history and integrity of the property.

Wonderful stay at Casa dos Barcos

We had a wonderful stay at Casa dos Barcos! The house is located in an amazing spot by the lake, and it comes with all the necessary amenities. We especially loved the beautiful botanical garden next door and the friendly staff. We highly recommend this place!

Don't miss this slice of Azores history!

The beauty of the adjacent botanical garden is underrated! Such a historic feel to the cozy, sunlit kitchen. Quiet, warm, a delightful spot. Enjoyed kayaking on lagoa Furnas. Recommended!

Had some plumbing issues that marred our escape from hassle, but they took care of it rapidly.

Fantastic experience, beautiful old, well maintained house, comfortable beds, heating, and lake view. Very much appreciated welcome basket, which is like having breakfast included. Beautiful walk through the gardens to the waterfall.

Sorry that this year we could not stay as long as last year.

Absolutely loved the stay in Casa Dos Barcos Furnas. We felt privileged to have the opportunity to stay there. The house has a history and it feels special. The owners left the food basket with the fabulous local produce, which was very much appreciated. We also had the acces to bicycles and kayaks which made our stay even more special. Every morning we would go to the garden opposite the goose to see the chickens that welcomed us running very excited. Very special stay. One of the kind. Loved every moment. Thank you 😊

Perfect location right at the bank of the Furnas Lake. The house is bigger than the photos show. Super tall ceilings with big windows and plenty of space to stretch out and enjoy the views. As part of the amenities there is a washer/dryer in the garage, kayaks and bicycles and the key to off-hours access to the garden. Take a path to the waterfall - it is magnificent. Between 30-45 minutes fairly easy walk each way

We absolutely loved our stay at Casa dos Barcos. We had such a friendly welcome and the house had everything from a fully equipped kitchen, to bikes and kayaks,.and everything in between. The location was stunning, with the added bonus of having entry to the gardens. We just wish we could have stayed longer!

Wonderful old house in exceptional location

Exceptional location on Furnas Lake itself. Wonderful old house with charm surrounded by water and woods. They lend you bikes to go around the lake, which is a wonderful trail (also for walking), about 6 km. The chapel and the gardens form part of the property, and you get a key to wander through them as much as you like. We went to the waterfall several times, alone. Lost in paradise. They also have kayaks for you to use. There are big fish in the lake, and it is a wonderful exercise. Furnas village is nearby and has supermarkets and some good restaurants. Be sure to learn about the history of the property and the area.

Location could not be better, the charm and pitoresque are unique. The house has all appliances you may need. Owner and staff are grrat and welcoming. Having a private park / woods is lovely.

It is a lovely old house, and being old means humidity, cold. There are heaters and all but it is not confortable as a newer house. It is the price for the charm.

The perfect Azores location to wake up to!

Casa dos Barcos really is a wonderful lakeside location, with access to kayaks and bikes, lakeside walks and after hours access to Mata Jardim José do Canto. There's a local produce basket to welcome you on day 1 and heating throughout. So even the rainy days are just toasty! Highly recommended!

Amazing! Fantastic location, grand house, availability of chapel 150 m from the house and 24 hour access to botanical garden right across. Use of bikes and kayaks. Perfect welcome basket. This property is certainly one of a kind.
