Nice location, good value for the money

The hotel is very well located at the edge of the old town. The staff is very kind and helpful. The room is comfortable.

The bathroom was not clean.

The hotel doesn’t match the comments we read here

Very nice young couple running this place, the location is good. Not many guests so we got upgraded to a bigger room but it was not cleaned.

The room was not cleaned nor prepared, a lot of dust, carpet covered with hair, towels covered with black hair, bedside tables dusty. It’s such a pitty owners don’t care much about the hotel they are running as they are a cool young couple and hospitable. We know it’s difficult time for tourism but the less guests you have the more effort you should put to keep them. We felt like it’s not fair and no respect to us who choose to stay here.

The best hotel of my trip. Lovely family, very friendly, always smiling and willing to help and share about the place and culture. Super nice service and delicious breakfast, comfy and cozy.

Great experience

The help provided by the staff to organize our trip was beyond expectations! They really took great care of us! Also the restaurant food was pretty good! Perfect location.

It could have been a bit cleaner and the shower temperature it was either too hot or too cold.

One of my best stay ever

- Good location: it's near the city street that just a minute walk when you get off from taxi, though it's still in the ancient town; also the place is easy to find; - Super nice staffs: Bodhi team is very nice, giving guests warm hospitality, and welcome to help anytime; - Lovely cafe & restaurant with reasonable price; - Very good room rate; - Trustworthy in recommendation and helpful arrange the trip(tour with Bodhi with good price and enjoy the time in Shangrila); All elements for your greart trip in Shangrila and nearby could be found in this place. So happy for the choice staying with Bodhi and feel lucky meeting those nice people there.

Best place to stay in Old Town Shangri-la! Comfortable, clean, excellent service, delish food!

EVERYTHING about Bodhi Inn is wonderful! Staff, food, facilities, location, rooms, decor, bed comfort... food! The staff will go above and beyond to help out. I had boxes of camping gear shipped prior to my arrival and they held it securely for me. I had difficulty finding another shipping company that would delivery to my next location which was very remote, and the guy that runs the front desk helped me call various companies, and even got on his e-bike and drove to one of the companies to talk to them personally. When the courier arrived he and his staff helped again! Then he helped me find Tibetan food at the local market and once again got on his e-bike to go pick up yak butter for me, to make sure I had the best quality! The Inn is beautifully decorated with authentic Tibetan artwork. The location just inside the perimeter Old Town is perfect because there no street traffic noise, nor is there too much tourist noise since it is not directly in the center of Old Town (but only about 400m from the center). It's less than a 5-min. walk to the giant prayer wheel and center courtyard wher you can enjoy Tibetan dance every night! And the food, OMG! The pakoras are the best I've had on 3 continents, including India! Every item is made fresh, and it is worth the wait! Momos, curry, Tibetan tanthuk (hand-pulled noodles), and Tibetan breakfast...Excellent cook! The hotel is spotlessly clean, which is unusual for China (but this Inn is Tibetan-owned and run, which makes all the difference). Remember hello is "Tashi Delek" in Tibetan areas, not "Ni Hao". Beds are very, very comfortable with heated mattress-toppers. There's a little gym upstairs. On of the BEST aspects is that no smoking is allowed anywhere on the premises! They have delicious coffee, wine, and beer and serve food all day long. The staff speak good enough English, too! When I return to Shangri-la (I live in China), it will definitely be to Bodhi Inn!
