overall i found the place very relaxing..would highly recommend this place to anyone

a real gem of a place beautiful clean pool..breakfast was good but a little too much the same each day..the owner and staff very friendly and helpful..this place is like home with dogs cats bees and chickens..the best part for me was there was ample hot water for my must have showers

Wonderful Oasis Conveniently located

Casa Don Diego was a wonderful little oasis in close enough proximity to the main central business center for us to walk but not right in the middle of everything whereas we were subject to late night partying etc and traffic if we did not want to be part of it. The daily breakfast that was included with our was served late enough for us to not feel rushed every morning and it offered unique dishes and enough variety that we felt satisfied as our first meal. The overall feel of Casa Don Diego was of a small tropical urban homestead retreat. The property was well-maintained and just lovely.

My only complaints if I had to think of any are that the bed was a little firm for my liking and would benefit from a 3 inch memory foam topper and I think that there should be a more prominent divider between guest patios for a bit more privacy.

Perfect small hotel in Tulum

Wonderful oasis of calm. Rooms extremely well equipped and comfortable. Pool area was lovely and quiet and the garden was lovely and tropical. Breakfast was very good. All staff and the owner were very helpful and friendly. Would not hesitate to book again if in Tulum. It was the perfect place to stay especially if you don't like big, corporate hotels.

This is only a very tiny negative...it felt quite a long walk in the heat with luggage from the bus station and if you want to go to the beach it's not difficult, but you do need to take a taxi or colectivo if you don't have a car. It wasn't a problem though!

A very peaceful place to stay in Tulum !

We liked the swimming pool, and the place where we had breakfast (super good by the way) it was at the center of the hotel and was so calm, far away from all the cars. The staff was absolutely lovely and very helpful ! We had a great moment there !

The pillows were a little bit to hard but except that we had nothing to add !

Nice room and pool and breakfast in very nice surroundings and very friendly hosts

the staff and hosts were very welcoming and friendly the kitchen was great to store cold drinks, the pool and garden were beautiful and the breakfast and wifi was very good as well. we had a great stay in casa don Diego!

Looks idyllic but found lacking

The hotel itself had a lovely tropical jungle setting, hammock on the terrace was a nice touch. The hotel staff were helpful in pointing us towards bike hire and allowed us to store our bikes at the hotel.

The room wasn’t cleaned during our stay as they only clean every other day. No bin in the bedroom (only bathroom) and combined with room not being cleaned, meant our bin was overflowing when we left. Air conditioner was very lacklustre which meant we woke up in the night on the first night as it was so hot. Managed to play with the settings to get it to work but definitely wasn’t 16C. Location means you have to walk along the main road to access town and restaurants, not a pleasant walk with little pavement.

authentic, beautiful, and caring staff (for the hotel, the restaurant is different). very very nice breakfasts.

the restaurant/coffee inside the place is actually managed by another company but this is where you take your breakfast. nobody was directly there for our first breakfast so we took 2 pastries that were billed to us quite expensively despite no price on display or sign explaining they were not included in the breakfast provided by the hotel.

The hotel is in a great location, near the town where there are lots of bars and restaurants but somehow manages to keep an oasis feel, so calm and peaceful once inside. Also so great that there was drinking water available

A secret gem, offering peace and chilled vibes in the hustle and bustle of downtown Tulum.

We loved how peaceful Casa Don Diego was, especially with the business of downtown Tulum! It felt very chilled out & relaxing, tucked away in a quiet spot. We felt the room was a good size for a family, and the shared kitchen was very useful. We all loved the pool!

There wasn't anything we didn't like, but we did feel a bit rushed at check-in, plus we weren't aware of a new road being laid right outside. So we were driving around for some time trying to find the place! A head's up on that would have taken the stress levels down a bit. We also found the balcony area hadn't been prepared for guests - so we didn't feel comfortable using that aspect.

definitely recommend it!

We had a lovely stay. I was sorry we didn't plan to stay more. The room with the little kitchen was spacious, with nice details and very clean! The staff and the owners were very friendly. I enjoyed the breakfast, very good quality products used.

Although the breakfast was lovely, sometimes I would have liked to have the option to ask for more.

Cozy oasis with easy access to all that Tulum has to offer.

We loved the location of Casa Don Diego. It was so easy to walk to restaurants, shops, and entertainment. We also signed up for the breakfast option, which was delicious and had a lot more food than we expected. This was a perfect calm oasis in the hustle and bustle of Tulum.

The only thing that would have made our stay better would have been a more comfortable bed and better pillows. Aside from that, everything else was great!

Lovely welcome in a beautiful setting

The hotel is conveniently located just off the main strip in Tulum, and is set in stunning, lush gardens. The owners offer a great welcome and a delicious homemade breakfast—the cakes and jams are really to die for. Rooms are spacious and comfortable and come with their own kitchenette and fridge. Really handy, even if we only used the fridge for beer! I’d come again if ever in Tulum

The pool is gorgeous but, while the family-friendly approach is great, this does mean it was always full of kids playing during our stay. (Not a criticism, just a note.) WiFi can be a little patchy, but we definitely weren’t here to work so…

Very charming hotel with friendly staff.

The breakfast was very good. Pool was nice to have because there was a seaweed problem at the beach and we didn’t swim. Hammocks in the rooms and on the Porches were a nice touch that made it more comfortable and relaxing. Owner and staff were very nice and accommodating . Wifi is strong if you need to use wifi. The hotel is about 6-7 blocks from the main strip of the center town of Tulum and it’s about a 7 minute walk. Overall we had great stay.
