Amazing location. The views from my balcony, from the terrace of the restaurant, and from the swimming pool are breathtaking. Absolutely lovely and caring staff. Good breakfast. Clean room. Very comfy bad.

Scenic hotel on a hill
Beautiful location; very nice staff/owners and ample breakfast selection with great croissants.
I did not like that the vast majority of guests hopped into the pool without showering and without wearing bathing caps despite the sign which was literally on the pool steps stating it was 'severely forbidden' (in italiano and English) to bathe without showering or without a cap. The shower was 2 meters away from the pool entrance -- so not asking a lot of people to shower first. Yet, my husband and friends and I were the ONLY ones who showered and wore swim caps in the 3 days we used the pool and the policy went unenforced despite owners/staff being on the pool deck and witnessing people breaking the rule(s). I do not like to bathe with random, unwashed strangers and there was quite a lot of hair, oil and perfume residue in the pool. It was salt water so doubtful it causes much of a health risk, but as an avid lap swimmer, I was grossed out. This may seem petty as a complaint, but my fellow swimmers will get it. For everything else; the hotel was in a scenic location, food good and the rooms clean.

Lovely place, fab views
We loved our time at Don Pedro - actually we'd considered moving hotel after reading a poor review on Trip Advisor but we went with our instinct and were so glad. We saw loads of other places during our stay but none that we wished we'd chosen instead. The complaints in that other review did not stack up as we didn't see any of the faults/damaged areas and sometimes people expect too much or are comparing to some other luxury place they've stayed at. Location - yes it is up a steep hill but it's a 15 min walk (good exercise), or you can get the courtesy bus at certain times (2 minute crazy drive). Down in the town with all the loud traffic etc., is very nice but when you come back to the hotel you realise it's so quiet and with stunning views over the port and across to mainland. The poolside area is fantastic, very clean, well maintained, loads of high quality sun beds. What we liked is that the owners leave guests alone to relax. There's no music, bars etc., although you can get coffee and drinks inside the hotel to take out if you want. The pool is thermal so it's like walking into a nice warm bath. The breakfast is very good, continental with plenty choice of fruit, ham, cheese, eggs, yogurt, breads and cake. If you want dinner (3 courses) you have to order in the morning (small hotel, so it avoids waste). Two choices per course and we ate there 4 nights, food was really tasty. Price was much more reasonable than eating by the port but a mix of the two is good. Staff are very friendly and helpful but, as I've said, leave you to your own devices. Rooms are comfortable with good A/C and cleaned and fresh towels everyday. Our room opened on to a level with amazing views of the port and looking down onto the poolside. You can simply walk out and sunbathe on beds there or down a few steps to the pool.
"Didn't like" is maybe a little strong. More like, "could be better if...": WiFi - we had a signal in our room but you knew when everyone was waking up or in rooms at night as the signal dropped off constantly. I think it's mainly set up for communal areas (poolside was strong), so it's luck if your room is within coverage. Extending the signal shouldn't be too difficult but would be so much better. The rooms are perfectly adequate, traditional older furniture, in keeping with style of hotel but the bathroom was tired and would be nicer with simple clean style tiling. The shower was too small. It was less than 1metre x 1 metre and a shower curtain that sticks to you and floor got very wet! It could be easy to make the shower footprint bigger if refurbishing the bathroom. Personally, I'd rather have a big shower than taking space for a bidet if it was either/or. All that aside, it's appreciated that the cost to do that kind of work must be huge and it is a family small business.

Very good
Brilliant location with easy access to the town. Quiet, comfortable room. The breakfast was really good too. Having a pool there was such a bonus...felt like luxury! Really loved our stay there and would definitely return!
