Not as good as the reviews claim it to be

The hotel is in a good location. Water was always hot. Not the best stay but I’m glad I was able to sleep and bath

The main door into the room is extremely dirty. The room offers a bench chair, very inconvinient if you need to sit by the desk and do some work. The wifi in the room doesnt stay connected for long. The connection breaks and then you have to wait for a wait for it to be picked up by your devices. They promise city view on the app, but the room has no windows to see the city or no balcony. The parking spaces are very small and are in between pillars, very easy to scratch your car if one isnt too careful. The bed is very uncomfortable. You can feel the sound of the springs as you sit on it. The cotton in the duvet is very inconsistent, some portions in the duvet have more cotton than others

Not what I expected

The location was very convenient

The apartment looked exceptionally clean on walk but soon I found that things were not as I'd expected. 1.The stains on the dinning chairs were disgusting 2. The couch was not very comfortable to sit on. Seemed old and worn out. I have picture to prove 3. Place has cockroaches as I discovered 2 as soon as I switched of the lights. So had too sleep with the lights on. I have a video to prove it. 4.The provided 2 bottles of water but no coffee station. 5.The bathroom only provided 1 tube of shampoo and 1 of lotion with 1 tiny soap. The place was booked for 2 people. 6. The blanket throw on the bed had visible burnt marks I've been to other apartments at the venue and all were a 10/10. The place has potential and it just needs the owners to pull up their socks.

It was clean, it was spacious. The bed was comfortable. Good furniture, the big couch was comfortable. The back yard was amazing. The mirrors were my absolute favourite.

There’s a huge bathtub that can’t be filled with hot water, that was super disappointing. A few cockroaches were caught in the apartment. The fridge water and ice dispenser wasn’t in good condition. Bathroom taps were also not is great condition.

The room was clean, cozy and the cappuccinos from the restaurant were exceptional ( restaurant not affected by loadshedding)

It was quick and easy to book in. It was everything we needed. Close to town and local places.

The location was perfect. We unfortunately had to go before breakfast, but I have stayed at The Nicol previously and the breakfast was delicious. The staff was friendly.

stay was fine

they had to fumigate the room, and the cleaners kept leaving the widows open, not good for security, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday night there was loud music and talking until about 2.30 AM, lots of foot traffic , don't know if the place is being used for other business with the ladies. Monique was fantastic though with sorting things out, however i did not report the noise and other activities.

It could have been better.

The sliding door in Room 240 was broken. I had to spend one night in an unlocked apartment. What also upset me was the half hearted attempt by the ladies responsible for the apartment in resolving this matter. I was told to lock my bedroom door since the sliding door is damaged and cannot lock! Further provide more kitchen utensils!

We did not have breakfast. Location of the hotel was great

Our unit was very dated. We could not pack any of our belongings onto the shelves in the bedroom as they were hanging on by a thread. Would have loved a thicker duvet or even a blanket. As we don't like using the AC.

It must be stated that the rooms in the Niclol Hotel are not part of the hotel!!

Internet - WiFi does not function during load shedding. Load shedding is normally 3 times a day. The rooms rented are not part of the Nicol Hotel. Thre is no reception, communication only via email or WhatsApp. If you ask something at the reception they send you away since I'm not a guest of the hotel. I had to change a room since it was tooooooo noisy due the the motorway and a not properly functioning flap of the air conditioning system.

Disappointing

The apartment is conveniently situated.

There was no inverter during loadshedding. The apartment was freezing. The aircon did not work in order to use the heater function. There was a small heater which didn't even help much! However I did check out earlier as I was not comfortable and they were accommodating to this request, which I appreciate.
