About this house rental

This quiet, 3 bedroom, 2.5 bathroom home is located on the picturesque shores of the Anclote River. This home is perfect for the water lover, bring fishing poles to cast a line or use our kayaks to enjoy a peaceful padded on the river where you can bird watch and see an occasional dolphin. If kayaking isn’t for you, we also offer a dock for a boat, where you can take a short, 11 mile trip out to the Gulf of Mexico.

This home is located only a few blocks from downtown Tarpon Springs and The Famous Sponge Docks, on a quiet dead end road. You can also take a walk on the Pinellas Trail, which is located just behind the house. There are many activities within walking distance, like shopping centers, restaurants and charter fishing. Like fishing? This home also includes a private dock and fish cleaning station. (The boat on the lift is not included with the rental nor is it available to rent. it is the owners and we will let you know when he comes to use it.) Have a boat? Bring it and dock it just outside of the home for a beautiful sunset cruise or a quick trip to the Gulf of Mexico. We ask that you, please message to inquire what kind of boat can be used on the river, as there is an overpass to go under, with a height restriction. Don’t have a boat but still would like to enjoy the river? We offer 2 kayaks and a canoe (to use at your own risk) You can easily rent a boat from one of the local boat rental facilities nearby. This house is located only 20 minutes from Clearwater Beach, 40 minutes from Busch Gardens and other Tampa Bay attractions. This location is also wheelchair accessible with ramps at doors and a wheel in shower but is not ADA compliant. Please note that there is no swimming at this home, therefor we don't supply any beach equipment. We recommend you bring your own if you plan to visit a nearby beach.

We allow up to 2 pets for an additional fee of $150.00. You can add a third animal for another $50 fee. Our homes will only accommodate up to 3 pets, per reservation.

TV is Wi-Fi streaming only using apps such as Netflix. Please bring your log in information for those apps as you will need them. There is no cable. It is a Roku device which does have the Roku channel for some free tv.

Visitors who remain in the home after 9 pm will be considered extra guests and you will be charged as such. Visitors are any persons not listed in the reservation.

Quiet time is from 9 pm until 7am.

To help prevent the spread of Covid-19, we have enhanced our cleaning procedures by blocking off 24 hours before and after a guest has stayed in the home.

If you are not used to coastal/river biting gnats, just remember that at dusk (+/- 1 hr) you will be decimated, surrender is the only option. Now that that's out of the way, if you are looking for a rentable place with a dock for a boat, dog friendly and adjacent to the dog park, close to the Pinellas trail, cycling (even walking) distance from the sponge docks and also to old Tarpon downtown, to have a fabulous boating island exploring fishing eating touring time, with an outstanding host in a quirky (don't feed the giraffe) but fun little bungalow with an outstanding host, then look no further. We researched and found only one other place with a dock, dog friendly and large enough for family and this one was probably better. You won't be disappionted. Just stay inside during dusk :)

We had never stayed at an ocean connected river before, and it was fun to watch the tide ebb and flow. The house is well equipped, and we appreciated being able to bring our dogs. The house has many whimsical objects and some stained-glass lamps that are priceless. The famous 45-mile walking and biking trail is directly behind the house. It is close to the Tarpon Springs Activities, Clearwater, and St. Pete's. Groceries and all supplies are close at hand. The owners are very kind and helpful. Tammy and Peter were very helpful before, during, and after the trip. If you want to try some place a little different, this is for you. The breeze is what I liked the best. It was heavenly.

We had a wonderful time getting away with another couple biking, kayaking, and hanging out in the neat city of Tarpon Springs. The house was nice and neat and had plenty of interesting decorations. I need one of the big drums! We are already checking our schedules for our next visit!

Great location - layout not so easy.
Great location - layout not so easy.
Folks very nice …location great. Home does have a lot antiques - dusty/musty/cobweb ….layout is awkward for certain family/friend situations - no restrooms accessible without going in bedroom - and to get to kids room or laundry - must go through master bedroom to get there . Kayaking is not easy from location due to tide . And others use boat on dock so people come through property.

Lovely place with uncomfortable furniture
Lovely place with uncomfortable furniture
The owners have obviously put a lot of work and thought into decoration and lots of lovely eclectic touches, however, they should have spent less on decor and more on furniture. The beds were very hard and uncomfortable as was the couch. The television was set much too high for comfortable viewing and at that price I expect some small soaps and shampoos for a weekend stay as all good hotels and every other vacation rentals I have stayed at has. I actually rented one myself and provided those things in a studio apartment. Very disappointing to have such a lovely place that is uncomfortable to relax and sleep in.

While located within walking distance of everything in downtown Tarpon Springs, one feels away from it all watching the tidal flows and watching the waterfowl on the Anclote River. Great place for paddling kayaks, playing games with friends and relaxing.

Excellent Location!
Excellent Location!
We really enjoyed staying at this property. We cooked Thanksgiving dinner there and the kitchen was very well equipped - much more so than usual for a VRBO. We also enjoyed the river view and being able to kayak on the river. We would stay there again!
