Sleepless in Room 1 upstairs - Kitchen & toilet right next to it

The air conditioning is free, and someone comes to emty the trash every day at the kitchen.

The staff does not answer the phone so many times people arrive with no clue what to do and where to go, and there is no way to understand where they are staying. They wake people up and the guests have to help sort them out. It happened this time and it happened last time I stayed here as well. Apart from this, beware if you are staying in room 1 upstairs. I stayed for 8 days, paid 456 euros and did not sleep any of the nights, because the room has a door directly to the kitchen. People arrive at odd times in the night, either from having fun or just recent arrivals with no clue and just start using the kitchen as if there is no one sleeping right next to it. One comes to pick up an apple from the fridge at 1 am, then another to drink some water and wash a dish, another to just go for a quick shower (did i mention to get to the toilet, everyone has to go through the kitchen?), because it's super warm and feels so good, and at 2am another to heat up a slice of pizza on the microwave (Ding!). Happens every night, even though there is a nice note telling people not to use the kitchen after 22pm. Additionally, if none of that wakes you up (I don't know how it couldn't) the light from the kitchen will, and everyone has to use it right, to get to the bathroom at least for that shower. The rules say only not to use the kitchen, not the toilet, but anyway recent arrivals don't read them, so how could they comply? My point is these are all good guests mostly, they don't do it on purpose, it's our nature, sometimes we think we're not bothering, sometimes we don't mean it or don't even know, and since there are always new people, it's natural. The conclusion is simple, even though the owner doesn't like it: you cannot change people, room 1 upstairs should not be rented. I paid 456 euros for 8 nights, I did not sleep a single one. By the way, I had to buy toilet paper myself, there was none for 3 days when I arrived.

Alójate cerca del aeropuerto

Habitación grande. Facilidad para check in tarde (llegamos más tarde de las 12pm). Muy cerca del aeropuerto, incluso se puede llegar a pie y la zona es tranquila y segura. Había un adaptador de enchufe europeo en la habitación!

Faltó comida salada en el desayuno, solo había dulce.

Cheap and close to airport -- main selling point

Very close to airport. Easy check out. Comfortable bed. Towels and linens were provided. AC is now free, so ignore that from older reviews. Very affordable place to spend the night if you're leaving Malta on an early flight or arriving on a late one. Maybe if you are part of a large group, it might be fun to book all of the rooms.

The shared bathroom and kitchen upstairs are definitely old and probably need updating. Also, it was quite cold (for Malta) but there didn't seem to be a way to heat the room. As others have mentioned, there is definitely an unpleasant smell outside. No breakfast option anymore.

Great location for the airport

Good location, not far from airport and buses pass nearby. Really helpful info from the owner before arrival on how to find the property and which buses to use.

The CCTV cameras in the hallways, lounge and kitchen. That I was asked to pay an extra city tax when all taxes are included when booking through booking.com.

cheap, good location but with compromises

great location, flexibility with checkout time, coffee and tea, comfortable bed, easy check in/out, quick communication, close to airport, cheap

the kitchen had no sharp knives at all, the proximity of a farm(?) resulted in distinctive unpleasant smell

Convenient location for walking to airport to catch return flight. Room decorated nicely and clean.

We had ants in our room and bed and later discovered them at airport in our backpack. Facility answered that this is normal in Malta. But we had 2 previous accommodations without them, so… 😄

Good Value Accomodation near to the Airport

-very nice decorated Room -large Room -Kitchen -many seating options -nearby is a Supermarket -easy Self-Check-In -nearby to the Airport (our Bold Driver took only 4 Minutes to the Airport, he drove very fast) -easy Food Order with Bold Food

-difficult to find (Our Bold Driver didnt find it, he have to ask a local People) -shared Bathroom and Toilet

I think that is fair . Shared big bathroom but that wasn't an issue as didn't have to share when we stayed . Very good value for money.

Lovely neat place for an airport overnighting

Pleasant place for a short stay very near to the airport, air-conditioned room, clean and spacious shared bathroom and kitchen.

Breakfast was rather small and basic, couple of pieces of toast with butter and jam and some muesli, not bad in itself but not nearly enough for two adults and a four-year-old. The address given on Booking.com is not correct, it's actually 1 Ta Jannar 1626, using the booking address gets you to a cul de sac. The owners write this in a message just before check-in but it's worth mentioning as I was using maps directly through the Booking reservation and ended up on the wrong side. A guy who helped us find our way said it happens all the time. Suggested bus 135 from the airport apparently stops at the nearby Gravina stop only sometimes which is impossible to find out ahead so be sure to check with the driver.

Served it's purpose in accommodating us

Homemade breakfast was a really generous and delicious surprise, the shared kitchen is big enough and has everything you need. The wifi works great and the facilities were good.

The location was a little sketchy, not to the fault of the accommodation. We used taxis to get around which were reasonably priced. The bathroom had a strange smell, I believe this is due to the property being quite old.

The house is close to the airport. The rooms are clean and the communication with the owner is perf. There is food store on two minutes distance, which open at 6 am. The house is perfect if you are looking for place where to take a shower and sleep after long adventure day

the place is well located close to the airport. the room was very clean and spacious. also the bathroom and kitchen were clean. the hosts even made home made drinks for the guests to drink.
