Located on Ali’i Drive along the rugged Kona coastline of the Big Island, this home boasts five air-conditioned bedrooms, six spacious bathrooms, and plenty of space to comfortably accommodate up to 16 guests. Walls of ocean-facing glass open to maximize your enjoyment, from the sound of the waves crashing upon the rocks to the cool breezes blowing off the water. Our group of three families had a great time at Hale Pua. Large, comfortable, well-stocked. The house is on a busy street but road noise was never a problem. The location is great for exploring the island. Would definitely recommend and return if we get the chance.

For a family of sixteen with eight adults and 8 kids this home was perfect for our vacation. The pictures on the listing can’t possibly depict how beautiful this home actually is and how breathtaking the views are from the backyard.
The home was very clean and well maintained. There is more than adequate space inside and out for a large family. The property management team is top notch and quickly addressed any issues. They checked in on us several times and were very responsive and professional. We do a family vacation every other year with our kids and grandkids and this location/home is tops on our list.

There are a few things to borrow for the beach but it would be nice if an umbrella, cooler and beach chairs were available to use as you'll have to source those for yourself.

Very nice setting, good parking, plenty of space for everyone. For a large group it worked out well. 4 families 12 people and did not feel crowded . Kitchen well appointed however rice cooker did not work. House right on ocean so beautiful views, sounds of waves crashing. Minor issue with hot tub, managers quickly resolved. Good location

We rented this house with a days notice. Our flight was canceled and our family of 12 suddenly was without accomodations. Not only was the house everything that we needed as a large family, but the management company was outstanding and made the rental process fast and easy. When half of our family had a new fllight cancelation once again, we needed to extend our visit by a day and even that process was made easy. They went over and above to accomodate us at time when we were all feeling in a panic. You won't go wrong renting this house!

The home was as advertised. We had plenty of room and beds for 5 couples. We spent many evenings eating outside and enjoying the beautiful sunset and view. The theater room was a bonus and a great place for our group to take in a movie. We had a fabulous time and Hale Put met or exceeded our expectations.

Beautiful to be on the Ocean with a pool as well!
The house was well-equipped and spacious we had two families with grown children and two babies, a total of 14 adults.
The property managers were very responsive to any of our needs.
It would have been nice to have some beach chairs which we had to rent.
Also lacked any sort of cleaning supplies, besides dish soap.
But overall, we had a wonderful and memorable experience on our trip to the Big Island!

We loved our stay at Hale Pua! Beautiful, spacious and comfortable accommodations and absolutely breathtaking views! Waves crashing over the seawall, sunrises and sunsets and so much more. Close to downtown Kona, yet completely private. Our young grandchildren thoroughly enjoyed the pool and the media room of course! The adults were thrilled with the setting. We had a wonderful time! The location and the house were great. Worth every penny.
There were a few things that did come up during our stay:
1. The water heater shuts off at night. If you have a large family staying that showers at night, you will run out of hot water
2. There were roaches in some of the rooms
3. On the bottom floor office bathroom, every morning, you have to run the water for a few minutes as brown water would some out.
4. The water fall at the pool was not functioning
5. Wi-Fi was not working the first few days but they were able to come by and replace the Wi-Fi routers
6. They had gardeners come during the day and we were not able to use the pool or hang out.
Overall, it was a good property with beautiful views. The family enjoyed it and would come again, hopefully with the issues above resolved.

Beautiful property in a great location! Loved the pool and hot tub and the backyard had enough grass for the kids to play soccer and football. Snorkeling was great along with the fishing in the ocean behind the home. There was plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms for our group of fourteen. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Being in Hawaii alone is breathtaking, but to have this house and this view just made our trip that much better. This house is even more beautiful in person!! It’s an actual dream home, I can’t recommend it enough. Or family of 16 fit perfectly and everyone was so impressed by how gorgeous it was. The management team was also so amazing and helpful every step of the way. Highly recommend to anyone taking a big group trip!!

We stayed here with 3 teenagers and three small children. The pool was great and the view of the water from the backyard was amazing. We loved the kitchen and the master bedroom suite. Had one question for management and they responded very quickly. Would definitely stay here again!

This is the hands down the finest property we’ve stayed. Every thing about it was perfect. There is literally 2 of everything! An abundance of beach towels and the media room was great for enjoyment t of movies at the end of the night!
The response from management was extremely timely even on New Year’s Eve night and day. We were a family of 7 adults. Everyone had a wing. I can’t say enough about it. Worth every penny!

Great property for large family! Two dishwashers, two washer/dryers, TONS of towels and a huge refrigerator! We were a party of 11 and the space was awesome. We spent days in the pool, watched surfers and dolphins, and the property is perfectly located near everything! We'll be back!

This spacious home is located right on the edge of the water providing glorious views and the sound of the sea throughout the day. The home is beautifully equipped with top of the line kitchenware, table top, bedding and furniture. The "theater" room was a bonus. Though we worried about noise from the busy road adjacent to the property, the home was very quiet and peaceful. Terrific location convenient to activities and shopping.

50th Anniversary Family Reunion
Hale Pua is an extraordinary resort home that hosted four families and a total of 13 people very well. We love big kitchens for our family reunions and this one was perfect. The pool was a real plus for our young children for there are no children friendly beaches nearby. Great WIFI!
Home needs some TLC for its equipment... main refrigerator not working properly... temperature reading wrong, not maintaining temp for standard groceries, ice maker not working. AC in Master Bedroom did not work. Back patio sprinklers come on in the middle of the day. Hot tub is very slow to heat. Master Bedroom Shower Heads were broken.
Good location as a KONA "basecamp"...easy to get into town, head to nearby attractions, and right on the ocean.
We arrived a couple of days early to get to know the area. The hotel we were staying at had a 11 am departure rule and we were unable to get into the home before 4pm. Same with our COSCO grocery concierge which created frustration for us and the concierge. Jim Rogers

I couldn't think of a better place to stay!
We had 9 adults from 2 families for our kids' wedding! It was perfect! Everyone had their own space and the shared space was awesome! We all loved having coffee in the morning watching the surf and the sunsets were the best part of every day! The owners thoughtfully left everything needed including a bag of coffee for that first day! The kitchen space was perfect for making and serving meals for a crowd. We had a personal chef one day and he had everything he needed and it was great to have a large enough table for us all to sit and enjoy a perfect meal outside. We could not have enjoyed it more!

Oceanside Paradise-Hale Pua
Our family enjoyed this beautiful oceanfront home for a week and wished we had stayed longer! A clean, comfortable, well appointed home, conveniently located right on the Kona coast. Our family enjoyed the beautiful view of the ocean, gorgeous sunsets and falling asleep and waking up to the sound of the surf. The kids enjoyed traversing the rocks below and explore the many sea creatures in the tide pools. The management (Nick) was prompt and attentive; accommodated a later check out which was really appreciated as we had a late flight out. We have stayed in multiple vacation homes and this is one we would definitely return to!

It's hard to put into words our experience at Hale Pua. I'll start with beautiful, memorable, and fantastic. We were met by Nick who walked the house with us and showed us around. The house is not 'modern' in style, but it is beautiful, clean, spacious, and has a great open floor plan ideal for large groups that like to be 'together'. We had 17 people. A mix of adults and kids. There are five bedrooms with master beds, one room with two singles, another room with a pull out couch. One of the master bedrooms has a pull out couch in it. For us and the mix of kids and adults... the sleeping worked out. A lot of our older kids liked to sleep on the couches. I have stayed in a lot of homes with large groups and this home by far was the most prepared for its visitors. There was plenty of bath towels, linens, toilet paper, dishes, pots, pans, trash bags...... there were even spices and some coffee there. We went grocery shopping for food items but a lot of the 'basic' things you need to cook were already there. So impressive. (We have stayed at a place with 18 people that had 2 trash bags for us when we arrived.) multiple fridges, two washers, two dryers, two dishwashers..... completely set up for large groups. The location is perfect in Kona. Can't say it much better. Airport - 25 minutes, downtown Kona - 5 minutes, volcano - 90 minutes, Hilo less than 2 hours. And the best part.... the view and backyard. The pictures you see online do not lie!!! It's just amazing. We were in awe everyday just hanging out back. We didn't even use the back of the house (game room and movie room). The pool and hot tub were great, plenty of lawn chairs and outside seating, huge glass doors to open the whole house up. AC in each bedroom was perfect. We had one AC that didn't work and the landlord responded promptly that same day to fix it. Lastly, the landlord did 'hover'. I could say more..... If we go to Hawaii again, I will be

BUT, they said if we admitted to damages, we would not be charged and insurance company would pay and we would get our deposit back. Unbelievable. Relaxing, private ocean-front home has everything.
Our stay at Hale Pua made our first trip to Hawaii an especially memorable one. This ocean-front home met and exceeded our expectations. Vacationing with several other couples, we all had enough private space plus large gathering areas when we were spending time together. We absolutely love to cook (yes, even on vacation) and this well-appointed, spacious kitchen had everything we needed to prep and dish up some incredible meals, using ingredients from the nearby local markets. Great to not be elbow to elbow and even better to have 2 dishwashers, which made clean-up fast and easy. We were lucky to be able to sit almost every day on the lanai and see whales surfacing out on the ocean in what felt like a private getaway. It’s nice that the bedrooms have an A/C option, but we loved having the windows open to the natural breezes and sounds of the surf. When we ventured out, we really enjoyed Huggos for fine dining, lucked into a fun night with live music at Gertrude’s Jazz Bar and brought back some incredible honey from Big Island Bees.

Hale Pua served as the ideal location to bring together our family of 12 from Illinois, Minnesota, and Colorado. There is multiple delightful inside and outside space for us to enjoy each other's company, yet be able to have time to ourselves in various areas of the home and grounds. We enjoyed meals cooked in the spacious kitchen while eating in the inviting lanai (dining area) overlooking the pool and Pacific ocean. The setting made us feel that we were in our own secluded area. Hale Pua is conveniently located for restaurants, grocery shopping, and all activities which a family may want to enjoy. Great communication, excellent customer service and response time. They worked with us for early check in and late check out. The property was beautiful and just as described in the listing. Lots of room for at least 12 people. Kitchen is huge and has everything you could possibly need. Our only issue is that in October it was very hot and the main house doesn't have air conditioning. The bedroom units are good, but weren't quite able to keep up. I'm sure it's not an issue in the cooler months. Regardless, we would definitely choose to stay at the property again!

The house was appointed with quality linens,kitchen appliances and equipment. We appreciated the double washer and dryer and the two dishwashers. The pool was clean and there was a variety of pool toys for all ages. There is also equipment for the beach that included umbrellas, sand toys and bogie boards. Outdoor dining was provided and the grill worked perfectly. Beautiful sunsets every single night and loads of turtles and fish were spotted every morning. What an incredible family house.
