The Neighborhood:
St Kilda is Melbourne's iconic seaside suburb. There's the beach – that goes without being said – but there's also a thriving coffee culture, beautiful Victorian architecture, specialty shops, places to have a beer in the sun and one of Australia's most iconic live music venues, the Esplanade Hotel (the Espy to locals). All that, and it's only half an hour from the city.

Getting Around:
We highly recommend using ride-sharing services.

Check out the TripGo app for transport timetables.

Public transport
Trams to the city leave on Carlisle St and Brighton Rd, both five minutes away, and take half an
hour.

Ride sharing
Ride sharing apps are a safe and easy way to get around, especially later at night when public
transport services are less frequent. Prices are about two-thirds that of taking a taxi, but may
surge during bad weather or public events.

Booked the property through wotif, but it is actually managed by a company called Vrbo, who is a host to a company called Made Comfy. This was a disaster for any sort of communication. I didnt recieve any check-in instructions at all. I had to call Vrbo who gave number of the local ‘Made Comfy’ host to call as they couldnt assist themselves. Made Comfy did send through access codes and parking instructions. But why did it take a phone call on the day of check-in to organise this, why is this not automated a few days before. The property itself is okay, located on the second floor. The stairwell in the building is carpet lined, so as you’d imagine it smells ‘wet’. The apartment isnt too bad, 2 bedrooms with one that leads onto a balcony overlooking the nice tree lined street. The downside of this is that you can hear every bit of noise from the street, theres a pedistel fan in each room that will drown down some of the sound on Saturday nights. The living room has cords all over the place, and seemingly 1 tv placed infront of an old one, and a mobile airconditioning unit with ducting out the window the gap between the window and ducting is filled by and empty tv remote packaging box. Kitchen, dining room and bathroom good. Overall its a strange one, certainly better places out there for the money. I wouldnt stay again, but it was clean enough and is close to Acland street for food and coles is convenient down the street also. But the communication wotif/vrbo/made, sort it

The place was in a great area, the apartment condition was disappointing. The surface areas were clean (sinks in bathroom & kitchen) beds had clean linens, floors were swept. Kitchen drawers & cupboards were filthy. Junk as in dirty pillows & blankets thrown in behind closed doors. Windows & dirty broken blinds. Yuck yuck yuck. We didn’t want to stay but made the best of it. Cleaned the fridge & microwave & everything before using. There were 2 balcony’s - one was enclosed with screening but filthy furniture & flooring, the other balcony had rickety old wooden chairs that looked liked they would break any minute. Bicycle with a flat tire was parked in the living room. Nice to have gated parking. What a wonderful place it would have been if someone knew how to clean. :(

Overall highly rate this property - the location was fantastic easy walk to tram, restaurants and foreshore. Plenty of room in the apartment for the 4 of us, the beds were clean and comfy and check in was very easy. A couple of minor suggestions would be for a bit more crockery - there was only 1 coffee mug and not enough cutlery. Also the gas cooktop needed a a lighter to start and the ones provided didn’t work so we had to go out and get matches before we could cook breakfast. Only minor nuisance but easily fixed if there were matches in the draws. Overall we as a family of 4 really enjoyed our stay.

The location of the property was very central to most attractions in St Kilda. Excellent restaurants and cafes within a couple of minutes walking. The property was spacious enough for two couples. Bathroom updated and clean. Fan didn't work adequately to remove steam whilst showering. Well appointed kitchen. Nice touch with lollies and lollipops. Beds and pillows very comfortable. Great to have off street covered parking. Suitable for mid size SUV or smaller. Some areas of the apartment required closer detail to cleaning ie the external door leading to the balcony with venetian blind. Behind bedheads was clearly requiring vaccuming to remove objects and dust.

The apartment is in an ideal location with great amenities and is very comfortable. Made Comfy was terrible when trying to contact them during the stay to request an extension to the stay. Nil response after multiple attempts to contact them. Apartment- highly recommend. Made Comfy- Not recommended
