Our modern, but charming, 1BR/1BA studio loft is located on the 2nd level of the building and looks over nearby restaurants and shops. The building has undergone a total renovation in 2019 to offer all the newest conveniences and modern comforts, while remaining true to the 1900's charm of the stucture. The original building was a Drug Store and the tile on the lower level entry facing W. Union St. still remains today. Suite 201 offers a fully equipped kitchen, large sitting area with distant mountain views, large bath with walk in shower, and comfy king bed. Large windows let in lots of natural light, original wood floors, and exposed brick were retained in the renovation process. The loft is also home to art, commissioned by local Folk Artist Charlie Frye of Folk Keeper Gallery, specific to Burke County Landmarks. The unit has cental heat and air, stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, Keurig coffee maker, blender, toaster and microwave. All linens are supplied as well as toiletries, hair dryer, and clothing iron. Easy parking located behind the unit where there is private lighted entry. Parking directions can be given. Each guest will be given entry door codes to access the unit during their stay. Enjoy a day exploring Downtown Morganton or venture out to near by Lake James and hike the Fonta Flora Trail or Linville Gorge. Ask the owner about the many fun things to do and see while in Historic Morganton. The Burke County Tourism Office is just a block away.

We had a great stay at the Drugstore Lofts! The apartment was clean and beautiful! Morganton was centrally located to Hickory, Asheville, and the Blue Ridge Parkway. We enjoyed a Friday night concert in Morganton’s central square. We will definitely stay again!

Nice studio apartment. Right downtown by restaurants and shops. Parking and entry in rear. Only issue was need to bring your own coffee machine as there was only a hard to work Kerrigan with almost no coffee.

I felt like I’d walked into a restoration hardware catalog. Very unique property , attention to details inside excellent. Well equipped in every way. Only negative is entrance area a bit run down, garbage totes steps from entry stairs. Smart key into unit a bit finicky, but in the end worked. (One other note: no cable/satellite as stated in description, means no “regular “ TV unless you have streaming account.)

Nice place, historical, right in heart of downtown
The process was easy. The building was historical and had nice local paintings decorating the hall and apartment. The apartment had most everything you would need - fridge, Keurig, oven and stove. I had no contact with the owner in person and she has a good system for check in and out. There was another tenant in the apartment across the lobby but we didn't see each other much. The floor in the hall is old so you do hear the other tenant coming and going but it was minimal. It was a great experience.

I was in town for a half marathon and wanted a place to relax where I could walk around downtown. This loft was so beautiful, well appointed, and comfortable! I will def stay again. I had a little trouble getting into the unit (user error - the instructions were perfect), and management got back to me asap and checked in on me later. Absolutely lovely trip!

quick work related getaway
Was comfortable, well-decorated/chic, clean, great location. Would stay again. It was a little expensive once additional fees/insurance are added (which is more noticeable on a two night stay vs. a longer stay with fees averaging out to less per night) for a smaller property with no porch/outdoor space, but I realize prices are higher across the board these days and this comment applies to VRBO rentals in general, not just to this property.

My, Oh My!
We just loved this place. Clean, quiet, fully-equipped, ideally located. The pictures look great, but the actual place is even better! We drove a short distance and hiked every day, walked to restaurants and shops, even cooked a full Thanksgiving feast in the nifty little kitchen! We could not have been happier! Thanks!!

We had a great time and enjoyed staying in this newly renovated loft above the retail shops in downtown. Drove to Grandfather Mountain one morning for another getaway. Clean. Close to good restaurants.

Almost perfect...
The property was as advertised- great location, newly updated and fit all of our needs, except the entry keypad. Upon arrival it was programmed inaccurately and we could not enter for almost 2 hours as we waited for a response from the property manager.

The location right on the main strip of Morganton was great. We walked to breakfast and dinner and went in a few of the little shops. The apartment was very comfortable with large windows and tall ceilings. King sized bed was comfortable and the kitchen had all the items needed.

We loved staying here for a quick weekend trip! The loft was so comfortable and easy to get in and out of. It’s in the heart of downtown, so everything is walkable. Will definitely be back to stay here again!
