About this cottage rental

This characterful and luxurious hideaway is set in the heart of Mousehole and has recently been renovated by the family who have owned it for generations. It's a former fisherman's cottage but is now fitted with high-end fixtures and fittings and is perfect for couples or a small family looking for a cosy retreat.

Walking in through the front door, guests will instantly feel the calm and relaxing air that the embues the property. Downstairs is completely open plan featuring a fashionable kitchen with Nespresso Virtuo coffee machine, original granite fireplace and a traditional family dining-table.

Up the stairs can be found the master double bedroom with sea views towards Mount's Bay and the second bedroom which has a single bed with a window seat and the same wonderful views.

At the front of the cottage is a delightful terraced area (shared with the cottage next door), this is a great spot for sitting in the sun with a morning coffee or evening glass of wine.

Mousehole is a perfect location for a Cornish seaside getaway - the picturesque harbour is surrounded by narrow streets and stone-built cottages, which huddle together creating a stunning location. Along the harbour road you’ll find galleries, gift shops and restaurants and in the harbour itself is a safe sandy beach at low tide popular with families. At Christmas there are the very popular Mousehole lights making it the ideal spot at any time of the year.

The property has been renovated to a very high standard and really is very “cosy” and comfortable indeed. The location is excellent and literally a five minute stroll to the busy harbour front where you can pick up a gorgeous meal from the local deli and cafesit inside and enjoy a meal at The Ship Inn. For a real treat, enjoy a drink in the stunning garden of The Old Coastguard which backs on to the rocky beach to the side of the harbour where, surrounded by palm trees, we had to remind ourselves that we were still in the UK!! There is a small shop on the harbour front too but for a bigger shop, a Co op at Newlyn a couple of miles away is perfectPenzance itself offers all the big name supermarkets. As regards parking for the cottage, even though it was August we easily parked up each night on the harbour front for £3 (24hrs) but try and avoid the top car park at the entrance to Mousehole as it is very expensive. The owners and the locals are all very welcoming and happy to helpoffer advice. We were able to walk from the cottage straight on to the coastal path routes and therefore not take the car out every day. However, don’t miss a day out at The LizardPorthcurno Beach! A beautiful set up in a beautiful place.
