The location was good but a number of homeless around. They did not bother you. Need better lighting in the rooms, but the fire stick worked great. It is 100 years old, so comes with the issues associated with that.

The house is a little quirky and my girls said a little creepy at night but it was very clean and comfortable. It is old and kinda fun seeing all the old switches and all the little storage closets and cubbies everywhere.

House was as advertised, was very quaint and clean but smells musty. Neighborhood and town of Eureka was very questionable. This Location is the hotspot for prostitutes and homeless. Very sad to see this much homelessness in the small of a town. Our family felt very unsafe every day and night. This is a very sketchy part of town even with being located on the edge of the historic downtown area. I would not recommend this house mainly because of the neighborhood.

Very unique old home in downtown. Close to many attractions you can walk to. Location is a little noisy because it’s downtown, but the house was exactly as stated. Bedrooms are charming, beds were very comfortable and sheets and towels clean.

The house was very roomy, nice and clean, although it was laid out kind of odd. Some of the light switches were confusing, and didn't seem to work right--but that could be expected in an old home. We had some hiccups checking in, such as getting through the double locked gate and front door, and figuring out where we were supposed to park our car (the driveway was fenced off, so you cannot park there). Unfortunately, there is only on-street parking, which we found out to be a bit of a problem, as there were people doing drugs behind our car, and several of the same cars kept driving around the block (over and over) for whatever reasons. It seems like all of the neighboring businesses, hotels, and apartments have high security fences, gates, keypads, and even "armed guards," according to several posted signs--but not this place. Ultimately, our kids were very scared from all of the yelling and screaming, coming from outside, all night long. This was made worse, with the fact that there are no blinds in the dining room, front room, and most of the sitting areas. After the first "sleepless night," we decided to walk away from the rest of the reservation, and stay somewhere else during our trip. The host wasn't any help on this, and ultimately blamed us for "not contacting the police." Walking away turned out to be the right thing to do - as according to the local police department, there was a shooting just a few houses away, from this rental. Naturally, we won't be back.
