About this house rental
Near Current River in SE Missouri. Secluded, private getaway with a fishing pond, bonfire pit, walking trails, 7 bedrooms, 3 baths, chef’s kitchen, and covered patio. 1 bedroom and bathroom is handicap accessible. Perfect for family vacations/reunions, girls/guys weekends, float trip lodging, holiday getaways, etc.
The lodge sleeps 14 in beds. There are 4 rooms with queen beds, and 3 rooms with two twins each (6) for a total of 10 beds. Up to 6 extra guests beyond 14 are welcome to sleep on air mattress (bring your own) or in recliners, but there is a $30 one-time fee per person for extra guests. Air mattresses must not be in rooms due to fire hazard/limited space. We provide 2 towels and 2 washcloths per guest.
If you’re looking for a place to relax and enjoy the peacefulness of the countryside, our property is ideal. If you’re looking for a place to party, we are not ideal, as we live on-site and outside music must end at 10 pm. Our home is connected by an exterior courtyard wall and sidewalk to the lodge. The pool, hot tub, and fireplace within the fenced backyard between our home and lodge is for our private use only. (We've been getting many questions about it due to past reviews-we no longer rent it due to the addition of a hot tub, outdoor gym equipment, and a current machine in the pool that we use frequently. The one picture showing it through a bedroom window is just to show the twin bedrooms' view, same as there's a photo showing a field that the queen rooms overlook.)
The lodge is suitable for events, and there is a $10/person day fee for every guest on the property beyond the 14 included in the rental price. Please do not abuse this or the extra guest overnight fee by not paying for the extra guests. We live next door, and only allow groups over 14 guests/events with extra payment. If abused, you will be asked to leave promptly.
We also have a very basic bunkhouse near our wedding barn 1/4 mile away from the lodge if you require extra lodging. It has 6 bunk beds, a sitting area, and full bathroom should you need additional lodging. We take payment for this in person at $115/night to rent this space. 2-night minimum.
The kitchen has all expected appliances, cooking, and dining utensils. There's a Kuerig and a regular coffee maker. Please bring your own coffee. Filters are provided for the large coffee pot. We don't provide pantry items or food. Please bring your own Tupperware for leftovers to take with you. 1 roll of paper towels is provided in the kitchen. There are plenty of kitchen dish clothes. There is a gas grill outside.
Bathrooms are supplied with 2 rolls of toilet paper each (6 total). We also provide 3 hairdryers and hand soap. Please bring your own toiletries (shampoo, conditioner, toothpaste, etc.)
All bedrooms are identical. 6 bedrooms are located upstairs with 2 large bathrooms in the center. The 3 rooms with 2 twins overlook the pool/courtyard. The 3 rooms with a queen overlook the field south of the lodge. The other queen room is on the main level next to the third bathroom. It is slightly larger than the others, but it doesn’t have a window. The rooms are not spacious, so if you have small children, the smaller the portable crib/pack and play, the better.
There’s a ping pong table, board games, corn hole set, and books for your entertainment, along with DirectTv and free wifi. (We have Starlink, which is good, but there are unannounced down times when there is no internet.)
Firewood is provided for bonfire pit by the pond.
There are 2 extra folding tables and 4 benches under the stairwell for extra dining space. We also have a high chair and a pack-and-play.
The lodge patio and it's furniture is left uncovered year round. The pedal boat and paddle boards are put away for winter.
We typically mow during the week, and flowers are watered daily. Please treat our yard/maintenance workers with respect, as they are doing their job to maintain our property to the standards we have set. Guests do not have the authority to tell them to leave.
We have a large Great Dane/Great Pyrenees mix dog named Shy. She is very friendly, good with all ages, and used to having guests. She isn't very energetic and doesn't jump, but she is likely to lay near the action or lean on you if you are outside. We also have a cat named Sweetie that spends time inside and out (of our house-she’s never inside the lodge). She is very social and tolerant for a cat, and also good with all ages. At any time, there may also be a new puppy or foster dog. We will only have friendly pets here. However, please do not book with us if you are uncomfortable with outside pets.
We don't allow other pets on the property for various reasons.
Washer and dryer facilities can be rented for $10/day—bring your own detergent. It is unavailable Friday-Sunday if there’s an event at the barn. They are located inside the kitchen/workroom by our wedding barn.
There is a large trash receptacle on the lodge patio for bagged trash.
The main floor can accommodate 5 six-foot folding tables for extra dining space for roughly another 30-34 guests. (Permanent dining table seats 6-8.) Tables, chairs, table linens, and decor can be rented for special occasions. See photos for rental prices. The extra day guest fee applies for guests over the 14 limit included in rental price. This fee is $10/guest. Set-up not included in item rentals.
There are outdoor security cameras on the patios/driveway/parking.
Please read all house rules before booking and before your visit. Please also read the direction section and house manual section upon confirming your reservation.
Lost/forgotten items will be held for one month after your stay before they are disposed of or donated. It is up to you to contact us to arrange for shipment or retrieval of items. Shipping fees through USPS will apply.
Please do not open gates to any fields on the property. Guests are free to walk around the property as long as you don't have to open a gate to get there. The high-fenced hunting preserve near the barn is off-limits and will be treated as trespassing should it be entered.
We are available to answer questions usually within a few hours if we are home, but we are not on call and do not have 24-hr staff like a hotel. We try and give as much privacy as possible, but we do live next door, so you will likely see us outside some.
Our physical address will not register with GPS. I've dropped a pin for The Lodge at Loma Linda on maps that will bring you right here. You can also e-mail or call for written directions. We are in the country, but right off of the highway.
We have a strict cancellation policy, and do not give refunds for cancellations for any reason at any time. We are sorry for any unforeseen circumstances, weather conditions, or changes in group composition, but we can only be responsible for the condition of our lodge.
Fishing is free and you may keep any fish you catch. No permit is required.
Tons of outdoor activities are within about an hour drive. Some more, some less: Current, Black, and Jack's Fork rivers; Big Spring, Alley Spring, Round Spring, and Blue Spring; Clearwater and Wappapelo Lakes; Elephant Rocks and Johnson Shut-Ins State Parks; Peck Ranch; Cross Country Trail Rides; 21 Drive-In; or just enjoy the pool here and fishing at the pond.
Float trip groups: We are a 20-minute drive to KC’s on the Current in Doniphan and a 30-minute drive to The Landing in Van Buren.
Locally, we are 30 minutes east of Poplar Bluff, MO just 7 miles off Hwy 60. We are 30 minutes west of Van Buren, MO, also off of Hwy 60. We are 20 minutes northeast of Doniphan, MO, off of K hwy (off of hwy 21).
Further out, we are about 3 hours south of St. Louis, MO, 3 hours northwest of Memphis, TN, and 3 hours east of Springfield, MO.

We stayed here with 2 other families and it’s great! The house has plenty of beds and bathrooms, is very clean and has an awesome space to eat together with a full kitchen. The outside is great with a pond to fish, use the paddle boat and paddle board. The locations was about 20 minutes away where we could float for the day. We would definitely recommend and will be coming back!

Nine of us women cousins thoroughly enjoyed our three night stay. Lodge and grounds are beautiful. Everything we needed was right there. Only suggestion would be to include the pool fee in the daily rate and it be available all day.
Thanks for a great time.

Annual canoe trip
Last year, my family and 2 other families traveled to this area to canoe/raft on the Current River. We decided to make it an annual event but needed to find a different place to stay. This property had everything we needed and then some. When we found this property, we decided to come down a couple days early and spent 2 days swimming in the pool and fishing in the pond before our rafting day on the river. As soon as we got here, everyone said they wanted to come back here again next year.

Perfect for Large Groups
This property was amazing!! The pictures do not do it justice. We had 8 adults, 6 children, and 2 babies and this space more than worked for us! It was very clean and had tons of amenities beyond what is it listed (ping pong table, tons of books, a cabinet of games, a small playground area for little kids, lots of extra kitchen appliances, an extra folding table with benches, and much more). If you reserved the pool, there are some floaties and pool toys available as well. The grounds are absolutely picturesque, the pond is really neat with a little paddle boat, the pool is well maintained, fully gated (great for roaming little ones) and gets a good bit of shade throughout the day, and some walking trails are all around the property. I would say the only negatives were there was little to no cell reception (neither AT&T or Verizon) and the internet was very slow. Given the remote location, this may be an amenity to some, but I think it’s important to disclose. Some in our group needed to do some work and we were planning to stream movies in the evenings for the kids and those were not really an option with the bandwidth available, plan accordingly. If you are looking for a quiet vacation with lots of room to breath and tons of character this is definitely an amazing find!

Great stay!
We had a wonderful family get together on this property. We had a few young kids and really appreciated the built in gates around the stairs, pool, etc. They loved the pond and paddle boat as well as the pool and fire setup for s'mores. Kitchen was very well appointed and host was friendly and communicative. Great stay and would certainly recommend for a laidback weekend with family or friends.

We had a fun, relaxing, enjoyable experience.

Everything needed for a post Covid weekend
Our group had a great time spending the weekend relaxing and hanging out at this property. We brought groceries and our own entertainment and had everything we needed to cook and enjoy ourselves. At the property, they have A LOT of amenities! Two fridges for storing all your food and drinks, and a separate A/C thermostat on the 2nd floor to make sure everyone is comfortable at night. We also loved the wandering dog who always wanted to lay around and hang with us outdoors.
If you are considering a stay, do note the WiFi is not strong enough for streaming, and cell signal only works in some places outdoors, but it was still good enough for making calls and sending texts.
Would recommend for anyone looking for an affordable spot to get friends or family together for a weekend!

Christmas break in the Ozarks
This rental was amazing. We had 9 of us and the lodge was spacious. The ping pong table was a hit. We enjoyed both the outdoor fireplace and the fire pit. Only concern I have was the condition of some of the kitchenware that needed replaced. Thanks for a great family reunion accommodation.

Amazing place, impeccably clean
We had a great time! The lodge is awesome, great place to hangout with friends.
We enjoyed floating in the pond, which is well kept as well.
The hosts were very friendly and helpful. And they keep the place spotless. Literally the cleanest home rental I’ve been to (I’ve been to quite a few).
We’ll be back!

Great vacation at the farm
Great pool and an idyllic pond for fishing. One of the most organized property managements we've seen - anywhere. All the kids enjoyed the pool and pond. Plenty of room for our group of 17.
