The Boathouse Cottage is a beachfront family retreat just five minutes south along the shore from famous Old Orchard Beach and downtown attractions. It is situated near the quiet fishing village of Camp Ellis on Ferry Beach. The cottage is a spacious beachfront house with six bedrooms, three baths, and a two-sided wrap-around covered veranda and enclosed sun parlor providing an uninterrupted view of the entire Saco Bay and its several small islands.
Situated at the southern end of Saco Bay’s seven-mile beach, the cottage is unparalleled in its possibilities for fun and relaxation in a casual cottage atmosphere – spring, summer, or fall. Opportunities exist not just for summer swimming, sunbathing and terrific fishing, but also for Old Orchard Beach’s nearby beachfront amusement and family fun attractions. Beautiful oceanfront Ferry Beach State Park with its complex of nature, bicycle, and hiking trails is within brief walking distance just down the beach, and two nearby golf courses boast some of the best golfing in Maine.
At the Boathouse Cottage every effort has been made to provide convenience and comfort in a charming atmosphere for a relaxing and enjoyable seaside family vacation experience.
At the Boathouse Cottage, the six spacious bedrooms are newly decorated to provide a charming, casual, nautical cottage atmosphere for vacation living. The large living room, suitable for the whole household, has a color cable T.V., DVD and free WiFi. The wrap-around sun parlor is complete with a game table, assorted popular board and table games, a cozy daybed, overstuffed chairs and a panoramic oceanfront view. A separate dining room provides seating for the whole household. The fully equipped kitchen contains coordinated china service for twenty, all pots, pans and cooking utensils. It has a four burner gas stove with a large oven, microwave, toaster, coffee maker with filters, hand mixer and dishwasher. Laundry facilities, located on the first floor, consist of a jumbo washer and dryer. There are three complete bathrooms with footed tub, shower, and tub and shower.
The oceanfront picnic area adjacent to the veranda includes picnic tables, a gas grill, wood fire pit and all necessary BBQ grilling utensils. The charming oceanfront veranda has relaxing, cushioned wicker patio furniture. You’ll enjoy a refreshing, sunny outdoor rinse or shower and shampoo when returning from swimming, fishing or sunbathing on the beach in the outdoor shower.

The property was perfect for a large family get away, roomy and with every convenience. It had rustic charm, the view and beach access was incredible.

We had a wonderful vacation with cousins, grandparents, aunts, and uncles. The house is in a great location close to the beach, There is a restaurant and store that are walkable, There are plenty of beds and we had 14 people over the weekend, The house was clean and Paul, the owner,was friendly and helpful.Fabulous spot!

Our entire family (14) met to celebrate Grampy’s 80th birthday. This was the perfect place, perfect weather and just perfect week! Families from California, Wisconsin,Massachusetts, and Vermont. Such a great cottage and convenient to everything. ❤️🦞☀️

We had three generations stating in the house. It had everything and more to make our stay comfortable. We enjoyed the fire pit each night, as well as the quick walk to the beach. It was such a relaxing trip for my family and I. We would definitely stay here again!

What a great spot for viewing the ocean! The swings overlooking the bay, the outside porch, and the three-season/sun room were all fabulous place to sit and enjoy the view and sea breezes. The beach roses surrounding the property filled the air with such a beautiful fragrance.
We also enjoyed taking short walks along the breakwater shoreline, and the easy stroll to the beach was so convenient.
The bedrooms were cozy, but we didn't need a lot of space to sleep. The number of bedrooms was perfect for our group. The walk-in shower was surprisingly nice.
The host was very quick to answer questions and went out of his way to try to help us find something we were in of for the trip.
We are grateful for our wonderful time at the Boathouse Cottage.

House had everything you could possibly need for a comfortable family stay. The view from the sunporch was wonderful. The soft waves, colors of the water, and large granite rocks, with the occasional group of diving ducks and small fishing boats was a pleasant relaxing sight. We traveled to towns both north and south of Saco and found scenic sights and coastal towns. Plenty of homemade ice cream places and there are lobster rolls for $20 in a few places. We totally enjoyed it all:)

The house was a perfect stay for the weekend of my mom's birthday. It is very close to a few great lobster places and very spacious with lots of sitting areas inside and out. My friend spent the majority of the trip on the benches in the backyard overlooking the bay. I would absolutely stay here again.

I took a trip with my school organization officer team. The team consisted of 7 teenage girls and two adult chaperones. We all had plenty of space and enjoyed every part of this beautiful property. I highly recommend this stay for families or friends wanting a picture perfect getaway.

We had a fantastic stay at this property! The house was clean, well-maintained, and very spacious, providing a comfortable and relaxing environment. The location was amazing, with easy access to the beach. The veranda was perfect, especially on cloudy days. Paul, the owner, provided exceptional service. The Boathouse Cottage more than lives up to its promise of being a beachfront family retreat. The house is well maintained and lovingly cared for. My brother and I spent three nights there to celebrate his birthday. The early May weather could not have been more cooperative. Indoors and out, everything needed for a comfortable and enjoyable stay was provided. Communication with Paul, the owner/host, was outstanding. He provided detailed and helpful instructions prior to our arrival and was available by phone and very understanding when I had to contact him to report a mishap during our brief stay. I look forward to returning again.

We had a wonderful time! The surrounding area has certainly been hit by some big storms lately so the neighborhood is somewhat under construction but the house was very clean and in great shape. Paul is a very kind and responsive host.

We were a group of six adults and four kids (18 months - 6 years old) and everyone had a blast. The cottage is right on the water and on a dead-end street. Kids enjoyed building sand castles in the front yard and playing on the beach. House was perfect and cozy. We’ll be back!

Coming from Texas were temperatures were 110°, we were thrilled to be beach side in Maine. We had 4 adults and 3 kiddos under 10 with plenty of room to spare. One thing that we didn’t realize is, there was no air conditioning here, which I’m sure is needed in frequently. A couple of nights did get fairly warm, but plenty of box fans were provided the home was very clean with plenty of amenities. We were able to entertain family here for a couple of the days we were here and it was perfect. If I might make one suggestion. It was late when we arrived the first night and having the linens already prepared on the beds would’ve been helpful. We would highly recommend this location and may seek it out again for next year.

Wonderful property overlooking the ocean! Plenty of room for our family of 9 adults and 3 children. 3 Bathrooms were handy to have. No one did use the claw foot tub upstairs. Plenty of fans, did have a fairly cool week with cloudy days. Kitchen had everything we needed, maybe could have used a griddle for our pancake breakfast!
Was great to have a washer and dryer, and was nice that there were sheets and towels provided so was one less thing to bring from home.
The very best thing was the porch, view from the porch, swings to use in the yard, big tables so our family had suppers out on the patio every evening! And the beach cart to take our things to the beach!
The only downside was the distance to the beach, which was only an easy 5 minutes.
Nice side streets walkable to the harbor, general store, and a place to get lobsters cooked!

We really enjoyed our stay at the Boathouse Cottage. Paul was easy to work with through the check-in and check-out process. The house is located in a good spot, with easy beach access, as well as short drives to a number of nice day trips. The kitchen was well-stocked, making BBQ'ing and cooking feel like we were at home.

Our family truly enjoyed this oceanfront property this year! The entire home was very clean, and there were ample bedrooms and bathrooms for our crowd of family, from age 3yrs to 91 yrs! We had 4 generations on this vacation. The host was attentive to the few questions/comments we had, but certainly not intrusive on our vacation. We have rented many different homes, but this one was by far, our favorite. We appreciated the wagon to carry our things to the beach.

This beach house is amazing. Located directly on the water with breathtaking views, it is a beautiful house and exactly as described. There are plenty of dishes, towels and blankets, as well as games and toys for the kids. It was spotlessly clean on our arrival and provided everything we could need. Our family of nine had plenty of room. The neighborhood is lovely and great for walking. We even had a plumbing issue and Paul responded immediately, showing up to fix it himself.
There is so much to see and do in the area and the Boathouse is only a 20 minute drive from Portland airport.
If I could give it more than five stars, I would. Would recommend the Boathouse to everyone. Will definitely come back.

My cousins and I went on a girls' trip to see the fall color and the ocean in Maine. The house was just great! The view was incredible and we really enjoyed the screened in porch! Would definitely rent again.

My siblings and friends along with our spouses had a great time again this year. The cottage has everything we need and you can't beat the view. We spend most of our time outdoors or on the porches since the view of the ocean is so wonderful! Paul is very accommodating and communicates in a timely manner.

We just returned home from our fourth time renting this beautiful ocean front home. Our group of ten family members had plenty of space to move about and spread out. My two absolutely favorite places to relax, drink my morning coffee and to read were the front porch and the enclosed side porch. The ocean views are gorgeous. Very quiet neighbor hood that is a short walk to access the beach.

Clean well located house with plenty of beds for large extended family. Wonderful porch overlooking ocean. House directly on the ocean but vis a vis rocks so a short walk sideways is needed to reach the beach area. There was a large wheel wagon available to carry beach accessories (chairs towels toys etc) which was convenient. Would have been nice to have hot water in outdoor shower and a few planks were loose (minor issue). Also would be nice to have shower upstairs and a little more insonorisation for upstairs bathroom would be good ( ex: bath P-trap opening). Overall very functional, nice house for family vacation. We strongly consider renting again.

Spent a week there with my family of 11. 6 adults and 5 kids. Cottage was in a beautiful location with plenty of space. Loved the peace and quiet of Camp Ellis. Met the owner when we checked in and he made sure we new where everything was and if we had any problems how to get in touch with him. We will definitely be going back!

You can’t go wrong with this location. Quick walk to 2 beaches, restaurants, fishing piers, and 3 miles to OOB. The neighborhood is quiet and great for walking and riding bikes with kids. The views from the home and especially the porch are breathtaking. Staring straight at the ocean 24/7. Love the fire pit and seating outside to watch the sun rise and set. The house description and photos are accuract. You won’t be disappointed!!

We had really high expectations for this house and it lived up to the hype! We had 14 people in our group (8 adults, 6 kids) and there was enough space for everyone to be comfortable. We made use of all the amenities the house offered and everybody loved it. Paul was terrific with communication ahead of time and promptly responded to any questions. Would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Wonderful get away with family. Beautiful ocean views. We enjoyed cozy fires in the chilly evenings. The house is spacious with plenty of room for our group of 8. Beautiful relaxing time of the year to enjoy costal Maine. We will definetly return during the summer!
