One upstairs bedroom had a mattress that was broken down. Another upstairs bedroom had window blinds that did not work. The Living room had a sagging couch. The Game room had a very strong smell of mold. The TV in the Living room had a scratched screen. The adjacent beach is constantly traveled by trucks, RV's, and Van Pool Vans going to a state Beach camping site and Dunes.

The ocean view sun room was fantastic!!!!
We had two kids in our group ages 9 and 10, we were able to let them go play in the sand dune that was within our view across the small alley. That was a godsend after a long day at the beach!
Plenty of room to spread out and relax or play games.

This house is just steps from the beach, in a great location. Walk to the left to a dead end that enters to the beach, walk to the right for food, the market, etc. The house is perfect for a larger family or couples traveling together. The kitchen has everything you need and the washer and dryer were very nice. The master bedroom on the main floor has a fantastic king size bed with quality pillows. The house was spotless. We will be back! Our pups loved it too.

Great space for multiple families. Great house for dogs that need their own space. Some side tables would be nice in the upstairs bedrooms. The beach is quite a scene at night. Loved the place!

The state was great, the property was fantastic, we just had a challenge getting in and out of the building with the long code for the combination locks.

Booked 4 days stay between Christmas and New Years 2023. House is as described. The hand painted walls are fresh and vibrant. Very much like the pictures. Beds were comfortable. Linens and towels nice. Bathrooms and bedrooms up to date. BBQ worked and there was ample gas. The foosball table was complete and ping pong table was brand new. Both were in complete working order.
Some cons: The location is nice as long as you know the beach is used as a road to get to the dunes. This is not a serene walk the beach location.
The kitchen could be better stocked. There is no ice maker nor ice cube trays. Bring your own ice or get it in town. There was no oil for cooking. Some basic spices were available. The dryer vent pipe was clogged so the dryer wouldn't work until we disconnected it from the vent pipe to the outside. The dryer and ice cubes trays will prob be fixed by the time you visit.

We loved the views and availability to the beach. Great for large family or large number of friends.

We had a great time staying at this house. The location was wonderful and allowed us to go to the beach several times a day between baby naps and meals! My in laws stayed in the lower bedroom due to my father in law being generally weak (he is old and has a lot of chronic illness), while my husband and our three kids stayed upstairs. There was so much space and it was clean! Not tons of clutter for my kiddos to mess with or break, so that was a huge plus. I have this property 5 stars, but I do have a few suggestions, just because we had some special needs and I want others in a similar situation to have a heads up: the only walk in shower was upstairs. My father in law could not walk up the stairs due to fatigue and weakness so he used the one downstairs which was a bathtub/ shower combo. That downstairs bathroom was ALMOST handicap accessible. Except for that dang shower. Even if there had been a grab bar or a grip lining in the bathtub, that would have been so helpful. Plus the bathtubs the property had are like the ones in hotels- like flat towels. Generally, just fine. But slippery on tile floor. Both of the grandparents needed assistance getting in and out of the shower. Another suggestion I would make is for the property to stock a couple baby gates for the stairs. We brought our own so it worked out fine, but that would be a wonderful and helpful touch. I would definitely come back here.

This house was so cute! plenty of room for the whole family. The best room in the house is the window room with the view of the ocean!

Let me start with the positive: great location at the beach, great game room, easily handled 9 people in our group and overall, the house was ok. The main reason for the low rating is the problems which were all related to the maintenance of the house
1. Dirty windows. One general room used by all on the second floor had three large windows which provided the only ocean view. The pictures on the web site highlighted this room. One of the major reasons we choose the house was this room with the view. The problem was that the windows were so dirty that you could hardly see the ocean. We contacted the PM and were told that they clean windows on a regular schedule which does not include each client, thus, no view for us.
2. Barbeque Grill not functional. According to web site, a working grill was available. We had plan to grill and went to set it up on the second night we were there. It was in very bad shape so we contacted the PM and sent pictures. From the pictures, the PM concluded it was not fixable and we would have to do our vacation without grilling.
3. Lighting in bedrooms: there was only one light in some bedrooms, with no overhead light and overhead light was not working in some bedrooms.
In all these situations, the PM did not take any action and instead offered us compensation. They credited my account for $157.50 which was 3% of the $6,063.75 we paid to rent the house. I contacted PM but got no response. These problem disrupted our vacation more than 3%!

The house is nice and spacious. It was perfect for our family vacation. Beach access is right across the street (alley way). Great location right on the beach.

Descent place to stay. There was birnt out light bulbs and/or flickering bulbs. Management was very responsive in getting bulbs replace or work arounds until electricians could be called in

We loved that the home was right next to the beach, however the listing was not accurate. The listing states that there are 7 beds+ 2 child beds. The listing only has 6 beds (no pull out couches either). We ended up having one of our guests sleep on the floor for the two nights. They offered to bring an additional rollaway bed. They ended up dropping off a thin stained sleeping mat (not a roll away bed). The foosball table had broken pieces and a missing goalie.. The ping pong table is slanted and not playable. Overall the home was not bad, just needs a few repairs and an accurate listing.

Beach front means beach front to me. This house was across a street from homes that were beach front. Not only that there was only one area in the house that you could even see the ocean (no beach) and it was about half the size that the picture makes it look like!! All the pictures were "very" deceitful. Made everything look much much bigger than they actually were.... very very disappointed.

The openness of the home was wonderful. Lots of room and great views!! Friendly local neighbor as well. Walking distance to a nice fire on the beach. Short drive into the dunes for riding. 20 minute drive to downtown SLO. Perfect !

We had a great stay. Very clean and great location. The sunroom was perfect for wave watching in the mornings when it was overcast and cool

Place was clean. My only issue was that I wasn't able to detach the empty propane tank from the bbq. It was stuck. We tried reaching out but didn't hear back. We were looking forward to grilling seafood...

Beach and Dunes experience in one place
Walk into a creatively painted home just steps away from the beach. Enjoy morning walks along the shore and collect sanddollars while watching the wind surfers. This home is close to downtown Pismo Beach and a quick drive to the wine country. Who can ask for more?

Christmas fun
We stayed at this property over Christmas 2021. We booked this house because it was close to extended family and allows dogs; unfortunately Covid kept us all from gathering so in the end we were six adults and two children under age 6, no dog. We loved the location near the beach - took long walks when the sun was out and enjoyed the ocean view during the frequent downpours. The kids dubbed the upstairs room "the Christmas room" - we hung lights and put up a tree and spent most of our time there. Some reviews have commented on the less-than-pristine condition of the house but we are used to renting beach houses and found it to be just fine. We enjoyed it so much that my husband and I decided to stay one extra day after the rest of the family left. This was a bit frustrating, as VRBO/Vacasa wanted to treat it as a new booking with new booking charges instead of as an extension, but that worked out eventually. The property owner was wonderfully responsive throughout our stay - helped us figure out the lighting in the garage, offered a kind solution to the problem of the missing TP (this was a funny situation), and helped with the extension of our stay. Driving on the beach was fun, butterfly grove is nearby as is Pismo Beach. We will definitely return as we love the proximity to the beach and would like to visit our family in Nipomo more often.

Overpriced but good location
My family of 7 adults, 2 children & 4 dogs stayed at Property 1908207 from Oct 16th, checking out Oct. 21st.
*The downstairs sunroom had an extreme odor of urine covered with carpet cleaning perfume. It dissipated somewhat since we were airing it out each day but it needs to be professionally truck mounted steam cleaned with an odor free cleaner.
*The garage door opener lights were not working as well as the garage overhead lights so we were not able to use that room after dark.
*The fooseball table is missing a goalie figure and the slides are rusty so they stick. Again we were not able to use it.
*We did not find the heater until day three and there were no instructions to use it.
*The downstairs bedroom sheets were full of sand.
*The kitchen ceiling over the stove is covered in a grease stain and needs to be cleaned.
*Vacuum was full to the brim with dirt & hair.
*Needs: Pot holder/mop/spoons
*ALL the seat cushions for the patio furniture are cheap & paper thin so they are not comfortable. The upstairs wicker furniture is missing some seat cushions so again, they are not comfortable.
*The windows in the upstairs sunroom are so dirty we were unable to view the much awaited sunsets!
*Positives:LOCATION!!!
*There were enough beds. Sheets & bedding were clean in the upstairs rooms.
*There is a vaccume.
*The blue carpet in the upstairs portion seems to be new.
*There is a fully equipped (except for spoons) & functioning kitchen with a new microwave.
*The washer & dryer & dishwasher all worked great!
*All the faucets/toilets/sinks were clean & in working order.
I am submitting this review as an experienced rental Superhost in the hopes that with a few adjustments & some maintenance, this property will be worth the price that is being charged.

This home worked out perfectly for our vacation which included three generations, plus significant others and our family dogs. It is on a quiet dead ended residential street, just across from the beach. No issues with loud parties at night or anything else you might expect from a beach town. Close to restaurants, the dunes, and anything else you need.
The house is right on the sand, so there is some beach related wear, but that is to be expected. We enjoyed the layout and floor plan, and had an enjoyable and relaxing stay.

Great location, great house, great views. Proximity to the dunes super-plus! Large house with enough bedrooms and bathrooms for everyone. Well-stocked kitchen ready for family prep and meal time. Ready to return to Oceano next year!

Don’t Expect Too Much
This is a solid 3 star property. When it counted things were fine. Clean towels, clean sheets and great water pressure. It is a large house that allows pets on the beach. There is carpet and it is really stained and pretty yucky, it smelled like they probably cleaned it...but it’s gross to look at. There are also no amenities past the little travel shampoos and soaps in the bathrooms. No extra towels, no beach towels, no beach chairs, no extra sheets, pillows, blankets etc. also, plan to bring pretty much everything you need if you want to cook. There were only 7 forks (in a house that sleeps 12) and all the plates and bowls are old and plastic. The house serves its purpose but it is not a luxurious getaway. It’s bare bones and basic and there is nothing new anywhere. The game room in the garage was too smelly to hang out in and we had to search for paddles and balls etc.. The house is mediocre but it has a ton of rooms, it’s basically on the beach, it’s pet friendly and we had a great time being together with family.

Excellent Location & Fun Rec Room
Pros: The proximity to the beach was perfect. The foosball and ping-pong tables were a huge hit on cold days. We also appreciated the heater in the sun room. Cons: One of the beds had sandy unwashed sheets, some of the TVs did not work, the kitchen could use some newer pans, carpeting really needs to be cleaned or replaced, one dining chair was broken, stairs are too dangerous for toddlers.

Great location
The location is perfect the with great parking. The house needs some love. You can’t see out the windows. The freezer door is broken. The carpets are gross and I wouldn’t go barefoot. The floors were sticky. All the utensils are old and everything oils use an update.

Bigger than it looks
We loved that there are 5 bedrooms (one downstairs) and 3 full baths. The garage game room was great for foosball and the upstairs sunroom was wonderful for looking at the beach and ocean.

The only thing good about this property is the access to the beach.
When we arrived, the house was dirty. I had to spend the first part of our trip cleaning and disinfecting the house to make my family comfortable. This house is beyond run down. There is only one couch you can sit on without sinking in. The dining table has screws falling out and the legs are wobbly. The kitchen faucet is wobbly, the fireplace does not work (maintenance came out and couldn't get it to work either), there are several pieces of the blinds missing so there are privacy issues in 3 rooms, the carpets are filthy and stained, dishes were dirty, and we couldn't connect to the wifi so my son had to use our mobile hotspot in order to connect to his distance learning classes. We saw shoes on the step on the side of the house. Then they were gone the next day, so we were uncomfortable wondering if the owner was coming around when we weren't in the house, so we actually left a day early. I contacted the property rental agency (Vacasa) and they did not address any of these issues, they only refunded the 1 night that we didn't stay. I have never had any issues renting from VRBO before and we are frequent travelers. I will never rent a property managed by Vacasa again.

Just a few steps from the beach
Our stay at this home was wonderful. It was roomy and comfortable for the most part. We loved the short hop, skip and a jump to the beach. The upstairs sitting area was nice to sip and drink coffee in the mornings while watching the ocean waves. Would definitely rent this home again.
