About this cottage rental

This newly renovated cottage, with a modern European design, boasts vaulted tin ceilings, kitchen, sliding doors for beautiful views leading to a wrap around porch and dock nestled just a few feet from a pond surrounded by 4.5 acres of property. Wake up to a rich cup of coffee or tea (provided), step out on the porch to enjoy all the sights and sounds of Cajun Country. The pond is a natural home to the blue heron, great white egret, the red-eared slider turtle, bullfrogs, and a few Louisiana crawfish!

We're located only 500 yards from Downtown Breaux Bridge, featuring World Famous Zydeco Breakfast at Buck and Johnny's, live Cajun music at Joie de Vivre Cafe, fabulous dining at Cafe Sydnie Mae's with award winning chef, Bonnie Breaux. Enjoy shopping at gift shops, antique shops, including Lagniappe, a 17,000 square foot antique mall! No tour would be complete without stopping by our newly dedicated Veteran's park honoring all branches of our military, as well as a quiet rest under the shade of the giant live oaks on Bayou Teche, followed by a swamp tour in Lake Martin. Top off the evening with dancing at La Poussiere, the famous Cajun Dance Hall or Pont Breaux's Restaurant!

Breaux Bridge is only 10 miles from Lafayette Regional Airport as well as the University of Louisiana at Lafayette, home of the Ragin' Cajuns! Take in a concert at Acadiana Center for the Arts, visit George Rodrigue Studio to see the Blue Dogs, and take a trip back in time to Vermillionville Historic Village! If traveling from over seas, New Orleans International Airport is just about 2 hours away. It’s convenient for a pleasant day trip to New Orleans as well!

Property was nice and clean. Outside was nice. Sad we were not able to enjoy the outside. It rained the entire time, but we enjoyed the peace and quiet and each other's company.

Great place to stay for a couple. 1 bedroom 1 bath was perfect for our little getaway. Thank you for having everything needed such as shampoo, paper towels and such. Only thing I could suggest/recommend is to put a walkway from the car to the cottage...like double stepping stones. It rained a lot while we were there and we had to walk in the wet grass. Had a really good time! Tto walk in the very wet grass.

Great updated accomodation for the two of us! A good size to use as a base for outtings in Breaux Bridge and the Lafayette areas. Love the pond with all the wildlife...turtles, of course, and fish birds, frogs and even saw a rabbit! We were very comfortable there with all the ammenities.

My husband and I were on a work trip and decided to stay here to get some relaxing time in! It was the perfect location, walking distance to lots of wonderful restaurants and had everything we needed. It also was very nice to have a relaxing porch to sit on in the evenings with a glass of wine and watch the birds and listen to the frogs! Highly recommend!

We loved our 2 night stay here. A very quiet comfortable cottage, we loved being able to sit on the porch and watch the squirrels and tortoises . The bed was very comfortable and the curtains were good to block out any light. The kitchen was were stocked. The neighbours were a good distance away so we felt we had this little bit of paradise to ourselves. We would have given 5 star if there had been a washing machine on the property as we were travelling and needed to do some washing. Thankyou for sharing this with us

My husband and I were in town for Cycle Zydeco and picked this spot a long time ago in hopes that it would be central for the event. It was absolutely perfect! The house is super cute and exactly as pictured and described. We loved the wrap around porch and sat outside every day as we returned from our bike rides. The location is super convenient, and you can walk to every restaurant on the main road within 10 minutes. It's also less than a block from the police station so it felt very safe. We had one slight hiccup when we arrived as the keypad on the door didn't work but they sent out a locksmith in less than 30 minutes to get everything fixed and we were able to check in without issue and very little delay. We really appreciated how quickly the owner resolved the situation and made it a non-issue in the end. We would highly recommend this house for your stay in Breaux Bridge! We really hope to be back the next time we're in the area.

My wife and I like to go to Flea Markets and Antique shops. We also like to eat at different restaurants other than the standard chains. Very close to Lafayette. There are lots of options to choose from.

The cottage is adorable - perfect for somebody who wants to chill, or would be great for a couple. The pond that surrounds it made it so peaceful. The owner had everything one would need to make it a pleasant stay. Located at the end of a dead end street and within walking distance to downtown. Highly recommend.

Everything was as described. As I included in my guest book comments, I recommend moving the water feature water pump motor out from under the bathroom floor. It is very noisy, especially when trying to sleep. Other than that it was perfect!
