Everything! This was our third stay and we are already planning a fourth. The cottage is perfect - every little detail has been thought of and the host, Alan, is fantastic. Not only is the property ideal, the location is also great for accessing a whole host of different places whether you want to go walking, visit historic houses or enjoy some retail therapy. Glossop itself also has plenty of amenities so you can easily leave the car and spend time around the local area too.

Nicely located, charming, immaculate cottage with a friendly and welcoming host. Exactly what we were looking for, for a weekend away in the Peaks. The cottage was well equipped and exceptionally clean. The hosts Alan and Carole prepared a welcome pack consisting of wine, bottled water and chocolate which was a very nice little touch. You could tell the cottage is extremely well looked after and the hosts put a lot of effort in making their guests’ stay comfortable. If you are a couple or a small family of 3, I truly recommend this place.

Absolutely fantastic! A lovely cosy cottage that was immaculately clean. Superb attention to detail. excellent well equip kitchen including tea,coffee, oil, salt and pepper. A selection of treats was also a nice touch. A beautiful bedroom with stunning views and the most comfortable bed. fabulous bathroom with really nice toiletries provided. Great location. 3 pubs within walking distance and a lovely microbrewery right on the doorstep. Highly recommend and wouldn’t hesitate to book again.

The cottage was very comfy and clean. The location was perfect and Alan was great, giving me a lift from the train station. I will definitely go back again to this beautiful place!!

we loved everything about this beautiful cottage. single mum and two sons stayed in Oct 2022 for the weekend. the cottage was absolutely lovely, beautifully decorated, everything you could need and more for your stay. I would say this accommodation was classed as luxury. The beds are unbelievable comfortable and the shower, just wow. even down to natural washing products, personalised key dishes and multiple walking options with maps. this cottage really is a home away from home. the owner is super lovely, great communication and you can tell you having a nice stay is important to them.
the lovely garden attracts lots of wildlife, even in Oct I was bird watching in the garden. this cottage is in a lovely village with a strong community vibes, peaceful and safe. there was nothing we needed over our weekend that we couldn’t find in this cottage. we will definitely be back to stay here

The location is amazing: Old Glossop is very cute, there is a great brewery/restaurant a two minute walk away, and you can start several nice walks into the peaks district from there. The cottage itself is comfortable, really nicely furnished, and the kitchen is well stocked. Alan was super helpful and friendly, and very responsive.
We booked because we were moving overseas and needed a place to stay after all our furniture was picked up. We couldn't have wished for a better last few days in Glossop, and will definitely look at booking again when we come back to visit!

We couldn't wait to return to this cottage after a fantastic stay last summer and we were not disappointed. The cottage is absolutely fantastic. It's beautifully presented and equipped with everything you could possibly need while staying away. It is a testament to the owners who truly care about their guests and provide so many thoughtful touches. The cottage is situated in Old Glossop which is very pretty. The location is ideal for exploring the Peak District and the surrounding area but Glossop itself has plenty of amenities too if you're looking to spend time around the property. We will definitely be returning again.

This is the second time I have stayed at Hawkshead cottage and it certainly won't be the last. Everything is just exceptional, it's still the cleanest place I've ever stayed and the host just cannot do enough for you . The location is absolutely ideal for anything you could want. If you're considering booking...just do it. You won't regret it .

Lovely little gem of a cottage. Really good location. Lots of facilities within walking distance including a brewery and 3 pubs! Great views from the bedroom window. It was really nice to be greeted by two horses in the field next door on arrival. The cottage was spotlessly clean and had everything you could have wanted and more including phone chargers and a nice touch of lint rollers in the bedroom drawer. Really nice garden and patio area to sit out in. Allen met us with the keys and was a perfect host providing information about the area and offering help if we needed it without being too intrusive. A nice touch was the prosecco and chocolate and water in the fridge. Made good use of the patio and the prosecco in the lovely sunshine whilst welcoming wandering ducks into the garden. Absolutely lovely and will be booking another stay.

This could be the best cottage we have even been to. The location, the cleanliness and the attention to detail were just outstanding. Alan, the owner of the cottage, was really nice and made our stay so easy. We are definitely thinking about going back this summer to do another hiking route!

the cottage is lovely, very well decorated and has comfortable sofas and bed. bedroom is larger than what the images portray which was a nice suprise and there was plenty of room for our travel cot.

Alan has thought of everything to make a stay at Hawkshead Cottage perfect. All possible scenarios for cooking were covered and the beverages provided on arrival were a lovely touch. The bed was so comfortable we took the details and bought ourselves the same mattress!

Absolutely beautiful charming cottage, perfect for a few nights away to get away from busy life. The cottage is exceptionally clean and well equipped. Gorgeous local area with the most amazing views from the cottage, along with three lovely country pubs almost on your door step could not have wished for a better break away. Will be booking again. The host Alan is great guy!!

The cottage really is beautiful, very comfortable and it has everything you might possibly need for your stay.
We have absolutely loved our time there!
It's in a great spot for long walks in the hills but only 10 /15 minutes away from the town centre on foot if you want to visit the shops and bars.
There are 3 local pubs close to the cottage plus a local brewery who sells coffee & cakes ( plus beer of course). The brewery is definitely worth a visit!
We have found a gem of a place and are hoping to visit again before the end of the year :-)

The property was very well equipped throughout. The location is great, about 20 minute walk into Glossop where there are plenty of cafes and pubs and a great hiking route just up the road. Loved the vegan, cruelty free toiletries and cleaning products. Generally very peaceful and private place to stay. Would definitely return.

The cottage is delightful and perfect for a relaxing holiday. In a really pretty area. This is our second visit and already booked a third one. Really nice pubs nearby that serve good food. Owner Alan a very genial host. Sad to leave, can't wait to return.

The cottage was beautifully presented and had everything we could possibly need for a weekend away. We had a lovely walk in the surrounding countryside before sampling excellent ales in the brewery that was two minutes from the cottage. Perfect!

A lovely cottage, immaculately clean and comfortable. The hosts have thought of everything you could possibly need and the welcome card and goodies were a lovely touch. The area is so pretty, and the local people very pleasant and chatty. The nearby brewery was a great place to stop for a few drinks on a rainy afternoon and the staff couldn't have been more accommodating.

Location of property was very nice, with rolling hills and a lovely garden with a choice of seating. Kitchen was really nice and light with every utensil you could wish for with lots of crockery, cutley and pans.
Washing machine and dish washer, although we didnt use them, it would be very hand for longer stays.
