Pleasant stay for all ages

Close to Assi Ghat, near street food vendors and brick and mortar restaurants. My double room was comfortable and aircon worked well. I had an online Zoom meeting for work and everything went well. The hostel has its own kitchen but the food was not to my taste. One evening the food was free, a very nice gesture. This could pass as a two-star establishment. Staff was very attentive, young and enjoyable. The "garden" is a public space where you could meet people, with a number of pot plants arranged around the courtyard but not as green as I expected. Most visitors were Indian but I was fortunate to meet an Australian/American couple and we did a boat ride on the Ganges together. Varanasi was experiencing a heat wave and the aircon fan combination was a life saver. All in all... a good vibe and reasonable place for a mature man to stay.

Staff is very friendly and cooperative

Kitchen . Being a lifestyle coach I always in search of good and nutritious food. If not even then base of the any food should be cooked in correct oil. I simply means food shouldn’t be cooked in refined oil .

Non-flexible stay, still ok given low prices

Nice F&B Staff, good location near assi ghat

We were charged an extra-night although we asked several times (48hs before first booked night) for a cancellation due to our train reschedule. Rooms are okish for price level. Basic Standard, water took quite a while to heat up. Rooms also quite chilly. No Radiator provided (expierenced to have one in all other hotels and hostels on our journey)

Good option for solo travellers

The hostel is a lively place with events happening almost every night. The beds are good and decent from cleanliness perspective. The staff is young and always ready to help. Thanks to Shivam and Romil for being kind and helpful during my stay

Hostel staff & managers not responsive, found the rude behaviour, not any request acceptable. Not recommended place. Have to check in for the another hostel.

Fijne uitvalsbasis voor het verkennen van Varanassi!

Fijne binnentuin en ruime tweepersoonskamer, lunch mogelijk op locatie en pingpongtafel aanwezig.

Water was koud. Daarnaast kan het dakterras een upgrade krijgen en is lunch niet altijd beschikbaar.

Nightmare, pathetic, unhygienic, unprofessional Staff is a thief and they can't find in cctv

Short attire of staff and staff sleeping inside dorm to keep an eye and ear on guest shubham opening the bags of guest in absence of guest to check if there is anything expensive to steal. All the Washroom needs maintenance and smells so bad no handwash no hot water

Not recommended I lost my many things at this property the staff is thief they will steal ur valuable things n do guest's character assassination. Shubham have stolen things worth priceless and other things with wich I'm connected emotionally. He is a thief and liar he will make other staff friend and do planning against us.

If you stay once, probably you will stay again

Very supportive staff. well planned and finely built environment. Used private room, which was good and clean. Not very big, but great value for money! Food was very good. The common area was superb. Staffs do respond quickly to best of their ability in case of any exigencies, such as water problem or power back up problems, even in the dead of the night or earliest of the hours.

May be maintenance of the property is the area the property management should focus on. Slight lack of which tends to such failure of power back up or leakage in water source pipe. However, such failure is also much dependent on chance or bad luck. But, fortunately staffs are very cooperative supportive and enthusiastic to attend and resolve any problem faced even in the oddest of the hours.

Best budget friendly hostel

I stayed here for one day and had an exceptional experience. Staff was good, room was spacious and clean, bed was super comfy. Overall a very good experience. I will love to visit the hostel again super soon😇

Wonderful Experience

I had a wonderful experience at the (Live Free Hostel, Varanashi). Every staff member I encountered, from the valet to the check- in to the cleaning staff were delightful and eager to help! This is the perfect hostel near Assi Ghat. The downtown area on Main Street is a best kept secret and the Hostel offers everything you need if you don’t feel like venturing out.

The staff was helpful and friendly throughout the stay. They helped us with our luggage also. They would try their best to help you with the questions or queries you have about the place. The place was neat and clean. The bathroom was big.

The room was really small and there was hardly any space to move in the room or to keep your stuff. So the room was really small that way. Just because it was summer doesn't mean one may not require a quilt. So at night while the AC was on, one might feel cold and that is what exactly happened. The Flush wasn't working on the second day of the stay. We had to wait for some time before they could call someone to repair it. Their common room has so many mosquitos that it is next to impossible to sit there and they don't have any solutions for that. A simple solution is to put electric mosquito k

Superb

I stay at female dorm, very comfortable and clean. The restaurant very good as well. Staff very attentive, they provide me a tuk tuk in the middle of night to go to the train station. I would recommend to stay there.

I Had a problem with the Indian girls in my room. Theu light up the lights 4 AM and start talking like no one else was sleeping there. This happened 2 nights in a row. Ob my second night it was 1 AM, I had to wake up 3:45, and they were talking loud on the phone. I asked to talk outside, the pretend didn’t listen. I went down to the reception and made a complain. They guy came to the room and ask they to respect the silence hours. very angry they turn everything off and sleep. Unfortunately it happens a lot with Indian people at hostels, they don’t respect the common space and others in the room.

Value for money

We booked a private room, the room and attached bathroom were clean and basic amenities were provided. The location is very close to Assi Ghat (walkable distance). The terrace gives a nice view of the river Ganga.

Tata Sky was not recharged despite asking the staff twice. Room has only one small window which opens up in the gallery.

Superb

The bed was absolutely amazing, as well as the whole staff who were very helpful and considerate, also in support when I got ill. First they fixed ORS within 20 minutes and later they arranged a doctor within an hour. Thank you for that. The hostel has a really nice atmosphere and the food is good too!
