About this house rental

Memories are made at Lake Hartwell. Come enjoy our home on a quiet cove in the Gumlog community just 10 minutes off of I-85 @ exit 173 in GA. Our fully furnished 3 BR/2 bath home sleeps 8 and boasts a large deck spanning the entire length of the home, looking out onto the lake. There is ample space for grilling on the gas grill, relaxing, and enjoying family and friends. There is a gentle sloping yard for outdoor games with a long meandering footpath that slopes down to the covered dock, leading to hours of lake activities. The driveway provides plenty of parking.

Our dock will accommodate your boat and the Franklin County Boat ramp is just 1 mile away.
Harbor Light Marina is just a 7 mile drive away where boat rental is available. Close by are the quaint towns of historic Lavonia and Hartwell where you will find a variety of shops and restaurants.

Other nearby activities include Tugaloo State Park, just a 9 min drive or a short paddle across the cove. Lake Hartwell State Park is just across the SC state line and a 17 min ride.

Tallulah Falls and North GA hiking trails are within a 1 hour drive of our home.

We are just about 30 minutes from shopping at Tangier Outlet Mall(south) or Anderson, SC(north), and 1 hour from the up and coming town of Greenville where there are many great restaurants and shops.

But best of all, if you are coming to the area for a Clemson football game, graduation, or parent’s weekend, this would be a great place to put your feet up. We have a large TV in the main room with access to our YouTube TV streaming service, as well as the TV in the master, for watching the games. It is a 34 mile/42 minute drive to Clemson if you are headed to the Campus.

This is a pet free/smoke free home and we ask that there be no large parties.

Everything great except T.V. reception. Programing would freeze every few minutes - had to change channel constantly to get it unfrozen. Would/will stay again - not a deal breaker.

If I could give more than 5 stars, I surely would. Cozy, warm and inviting. We fished, enjoyed the cool evenings in front of the wood burning fireplace and just enjoyed the beauty that surrounded us. We were greeted by 5 deer the morning we arrived. Marty and David are amazing souls and we are so grateful they shared this little piece of heaven with us. Again, all the stars.

The house had everything we needed. There was actually all kinds of gear on the property and we brought more than we needed to. The house was clean and comfortable. The lake was close and in a nice, quiet neighborhood. It wasn’t a long drive at all to go eat or go into town.

We had a wonderful stay last weekend! The house was everything we could have asked for, and the lake views from the dock were beautiful! Between the house, the yard, and the lakefront/dock there was plenty of room for all 8 of us (2 adults and 6 kids). Lots of fishing, swimming, and time spent around the fire pit made for some great memories!

The lake house was very spacious and clean. It has a concrete walk down to the lake. The firepit with the string lights was wonderful for outside entertaining. It has a screened in back porch off the master bedroom which was also very nice. I would definitely recommend and plan to return. Very peaceful and quiet.

The amenities were superb. Fishing off the dock was great. We caught more than a dozen fish in 1 day. We saw wildlife , deer, hawk, albino armadillo and many others. This is not a solicitation or fake. CaptainJD of Off the Hook Charters. Punta Gorda Florida. We look forward to our next stay. Nearby waterfalls, state park etc. Tons to do for kids of all ages.

The location was great! We live way out in the middle of nowhere and being close to town, but still felt like having some privacy was so very nice! The house was perfect! It felt like home and was clean. Checkout was very easy and everything for us was a positive.

This house served our purpose which was just a place to sleep. We had family at a larger house up the road and this was very convenient. We were only there to sleep so this was perfect for that need. If we had planned to use the house for cooking I do think there are limitations. The kitchen is very small without a dishwasher. Just something to keep in mind if you are planning to do some cooking during your stay. The dock and lake access were perfect. My family really enjoyed the kayaks.

It was so nice, all the things you needed was supply. And the property so nice and private. The neighborhood was in a beautifully setting. I enjoyed the amenities such as the fireplace and boat dock, the porch there was cool even with it being the Fall, the home is a great place to vacation.

We really enjoyed our stay at this property. It is very well furnished and appointed. Both the owner and property manager greeted us on our first day there. The property manager lives very close by and was an advocate for the area. He became our ‘tour guide’. We loved exploring the area especially the waterfalls and the antique shops in the area. Another highlight was the Toccoa GA Camp where the WWII Band of Brothers trained. We also enjoyed sitting in the swing on the dock. My favorite place in the house was the screened in porch. The owners responded promptly to my many messages before and during our stay. Highly recommend this property and area.

The house was clean, cozy and accommodating. We enjoyed the screened in porch during the rain and the dock and lake when the sun was shining. It is conveniently located close to the marina and small grocery store. Ted the neighbor was friendly and a great source for local info. We would definitely stay again.

Everything just perfect minus 5 things: 1. A warning about the steep hill from dock to house… my friends had a very hard time. 2. The spider infestation on the dock caused by dock light too bright and no off switch. 3. No Ice 4. Video cameras yuck 5. Neighbor creeped around spying a lot. I’m an adult and female and did not like that. Note The hill didn’t bother me personally I recommend they pressure wash the dock often to rid the spiders that were huge and annoying Fix the ice maker or at least note to visitors so they can bring ice And ask the neighbor to not come over or creep around.

Peaceful place on Lake Hartwell

Very nice property manager, gave us a place to put boat trailer. Concretr path down to boat dock, no steps which made it easier to get gear to water. Little steep but we all needed the exercise. Quiet location with woods, firepit, huge deck, and a screen porch which was perfect for our canasta card game. Kitchen has everything you need to cook all your meals, well stocked with good quality pots and pans. We cooked every night on the gas grill which made family time even more enjoyable. Grandkids loved swimming off the dock. No boat traffic, deep water, and great metal steps on ladder for easy in and out of water. Beds were very comfortable, we all slept great, and we will be back.
