The house is a piece of history, built by a famous architect and his students in the 1970's. It is full of character and personality, and includes the owner's huge library and many of his paintings.
The property is quiet and private and includes outdoor amenities like a gym, hot tub, trampoline, hammock, barbeque and chicken coop. It is close to Tomales Bay and Point Reyes hiking trails and beaches.

We rented the Eco Lodge in July '23 for 4 nights and had a wonderful gathering of family and friends. It's a very unique and inspiring property that was perfect for our needs. Micah, who lives on the property in another unit, was the perfect host, going out of his way to make sure our gathering was everything we could have hoped for. His friendly demeanor and generosity with his time and knowledge was appreciated by everyone in our group. We would highly recommend the property for anyone looking for a unique experience in a beautiful setting.

Incredibly inspiring stay and a wonderful weekend connecting with close friends. The kitchen was the hub, fueling the relaxation and all the surrounding nooks and cozy corners were filled with laughs and conversation. The level of intention around the space, between the architecture, garden, Sims watercolors and the library collection had everyone in the group so humbled. There is an immediate level of peacefulness to the land with its views. We were all glowing from the experience leaving with a creative boost. I want to thank Micah for being an excellent host and sharing the space with us. TruIy hope to make it back someday.

We thoroughly loved the property. There were 10 of us - all sorts of family members. Plenty of beds for 10 of us. Kitchen had everything we needed for cooking, and then some. The property and grounds were a dream.

We enjoyed our stay at Eco-Refuge. The first floor kitchen and dining space is perfect for groups of ten or more people. The second floor living room was an excellent meeting space. The wifi was dependable. We stayed in the winter and with power outages, Eco-Refuge has a back up battery for keeping power. The beds were comfortable and the bedding was of good quality. We plan to come back for our annual retreat. Micah is the best host. He makes sure we had all we needed and was very accessible and helpful.

Micah was incredibly helpful as we had unexpected travel issues and he went above and beyond to accommodate us. Friendly, professional, such a warm host with an incredible home that he takes great care of and is generous to share with guests. We had rain all three days and felt so fortunate that we were able to spend the time in such a beautiful, magical house. Thanks Micah!

We loved our stay at the Eco-Refuge! The house is spacious, beautifully designed, and the grounds provide much to enjoy. Micah is helpful and friendly! Our only regret is that we were busy with activities in the area and didn't get to spend as much time enjoying this home. I would gladly return to stay here again.

We loved the artwork, ambiance, care, thought and spontaneity that went into the design.

We had a group of 7 people (3 couples). Micah, our host greeted us and took us on a tour of the grounds, which was immense–there was a garden, a hot tub with a stargazing deck, a bocce ball court (where some of us ended up playing later), and spacious outdoor lounging areas.
The home is designed by Sim van der Ryn, a prominent ecological architect and was their family home for years. Staying there was so nice–it was just a warm place, lots of books and beautiful watercolor portraits painted by Sim (which you could also purchase through Micah–and many of us did buy a few pieces as a token of this great weekend).
Micah was also a very kind and responsive host since he lives just down the road. We were able to meet his father, Sim and some of their family–definitely one of the highlights of our stay.
Also–the kitchen is *very* well stocked. All the spices you need, plenty of pots and pans. Very easy for 3-4 people to prep and cook simultaneously in the kitchen. I loved the organization of the kitchen. Spacious common areas for us to play board games and relax. Would love to come back sometime :) Thank you again Micah and family for such a great stay!

Gorgeous home built by famous architect Sim Vander Ryn. Home is creatively and tastefully decorated/interior designed.
Micah was an excellent host and eagerly met any need that came up during our stay.
The house is conveniently located just at the top of the hill right outside "downtown" Inverness.
Some ants and critters that you'd expect from an eco refuge. Owners are present at property throughout.

Beautiful escape to a simpler time
Our family of 5 loved every moment we spent at the Eco-Refuge. Micah and his family are gracious hosts, helped us to understand the history of the home and property, and to navigate the surrounding area (including hiking trails within minutes away).
The home is also situated close to "town," with easy access to Point Reyes Station as well as the villages up and down either side of Tomales Bay. Very easy to get around to explore the whole region.
Can't wait to come back!
