A very relaxing calming stay.

Beautifully converted room. With beautiful en suite with bath and shower. Plenty of wood beams, very atmospheric. Easy to get to Wangford or Southwold for dinner.

Lovely host at a gorgeous unusual property in fantastic setting near all that Suffolk has to offer!

Relatively clean

BEWARE OF BOOKING. We were screamed at by the 'host' - I have never in my life experienced anything like it. We were less than half an hour late to check out and both 'hosts' persistently rammed down our door then proceeded to swear at us (to 'F off' out of her house) because we missed breakfast. She then gestured a swear word out of the window as we were leaving (SHOCKING). We found the situation bizarrely comical at the time, however in retrospect this behaviour should not be tolerated. This is no way to treat anyone, let alone a PAYING guest. Checking out under half an hour late should not have led to such a situation and the woman in charge would do well to attend some anger management sessions. I would also add that the rooms are very old and huge (very creepy) and the shower barely works.

This was a really enjoyable stay in a quiet and comfortable location,

The Stables is in an ideal location for those seeking peace and quiet, and is, in fact, over half a mile from the main road. The room had very high ceilings, was spacious, and had more than adequate drawer and wardrobe space. The bed was extremely comfortable and was equipped with numerous pillows and cushions. This really was a spacious and comfortable room. Also, the breakfast was excellent, with a good range of tasty choices, all delivered with copious amounts of tea or coffee.

Although the bathroom was also spacious and adequately equipped, I had a problem with the shower, which was small, and the entry point was raised, making entry difficult for any person of a big build or having arthritic joints.

Great breakfast, lovely room with comfortable bed. Host, Alan, was very attentive.

Access to the estate grounds for walking would have been the cherry on the cake, but unfortunately not allowed

Nice B&B in beautiful grounds that you can look at but not walk over.

Very nice room with comfortable bed. Breakfast was very nice and plenty of options.

No proper shower or tiling / shower curtain over the bath. Room very dark even with all the lights on and curtains open Breakfast served no later than 9am Landowner (not host) does not allow guests to walk around the estate so there is nothing to do apart from sit in rooms or in lounge area - would not have booked had I been aware of this - had expected a nice country walk. Also booked for proximity to Henham Barns but as landowner will not let you cross the land then the journey is all around the perimeter of the Estate and there are other accommodations closer.

perfect stay for a special occasion

Everything about the property was above our expectations , the beds were so comfy and well needed after a day exploring in Southwold which is a a mere 5 minute drive away. The breakfast options were plentiful and cooked fresh daily, our waitress Sarah was also an absolute delight, attentive, friendly and thoughtful. The hosts at the stables were equally fantastic, knowledgable and welcoming we really couldn’t have felt more welcome. Do not hesitate in booking here, you will not regret it ☺️

It was a shame you couldn't walk around the grounds (I know it is explained on the website but I missed it!) The shower could have been a little newer.

It was a really fabulous place to stay. Hosts were very welcoming, rooms were excellent. Had the best night's sleep in an extremely comfortable bed. Our breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious. Thank you for a very memorable stay.

Great Short Break

Beautiful building and spacious rooms. Very friendly owners. Good breakfast selection with good quality ingredients. We had a small issue with the hot water in the morning but his was resolved very quickly by Alan.

Very comfortable, accommodating hosts and beautiful location. Also a delicious cooked breakfast!

Very spacious, really accommodating host and lovely little extras available, such as the honesty bar, mini fridge and games available, which just make the stay better!

There was a fair bit of dust around the beams in the room but these are probably difficult to clean in all fairness.

The bed was fabulous as well as the rooms. it is a nice barn/stable conversion. Alan & his wife were very nice & breakfast was just right. Alan ran a ‘Honesty’ bar which was good, but the bar area and breakfast room was rather soulless.

It wasn’t sign posted very well. we drove up & down the road looking for it & then saw a small roadside sign almost hidden by bracken etc. Needs clearer signage. It was pitch black when we arrived though.It was a little lifeless but if you’re after a remote break, perfect !

The approach to the premises was tatty and would look so much better if the weeds were removed
