Favorable geography and climate
In the Pyrénées-Orientales, Canet-en-Roussillon is located 1 hour from the first Pyrenean foothills, 45 minutes from Spain, 10 minutes from Perpignan and on the shores of the Mediterranean. Former seat of the Viscounty of Canet and second largest city in the Pyrénées-Orientales in terms of population, it covers 22.39 km2 and has 12,436 inhabitants.
An exceptional and coveted living environment
Thanks to its Mediterranean climate and its geography, Canet offers an exceptional and coveted living environment. It is divided into two areas: on one side Canet-village with its alleys and its castle, and on the other Canet-plage the seaside resort. Canet-en-Roussillon is 9 kilometers of beach, a port, an aquarium unique in the world, an authentic village and vineyards. Whatever your age, you can move to Canet-en-Roussillon to admire the beauty of nature, relax, have fun and discover the art of distillation.
In terms of tourism, the Viscount Castle, the Canet-Saint-Nazaire lake and the old village open the way to many possibilities. For the education of the little ones, the town has two nursery schools, two primary schools, a middle school and a high school which offers training in sea trades. To practice a sporting activity, head for the Arlette-Franco international swimming center, the Europa tennis center or the Eric-Tabarly sports hall. In terms of health, the city has dentists, generalists and specialists. Suffice to say that you do not have to worry about your well-being and that of your children.
Canet-village or Canet-plage: the choice is yours!
Canet-en-Roussillon is both a seaside resort and an authentic village where life is good. You can settle there to take advantage of its exceptional geography and its Mediterranean climate. If the charm of the seaside does not correspond to your way of life, settle in Canet-village: a district which has managed to preserve its old aspect, with its beautiful residences dating from the 17th century and its winding alleys. However, whether you are by the sea or on the land of Canet, you will appreciate the tranquility that characterizes this town in the Pyrénées-Orientales.
