About this house rental
Hillside House is a bright, airy, and cheerful home located on 8 wooded acres and close to open meadows. The highway to Glacier Park less than two miles away via paved county road so you can enjoy Montana's quiet tranquility after a day of exploring. The home features a large kitchen/dining area, a living room with a gas fireplace, and a master suite with a large walk-in shower. There is a second bedroom with a queen bed and desk and the third bedroom features a bunk bed, single on the top and full size on the bottom. The main bathroom has a shower and there is a powder room located off the laundry.
For the first time in serveral years, the Hillside House will be available for rent by the month from October through May. Take that break you have always dreamed of and spend a few months, or the whole winter, enmeshed in the tranquility of a Montana winter. Please send us an inquiry if interested in pursuing.

What a gorgeous place!! Nestled in the trees with paths to walk on! Beautiful flowers and special touches everywhere! 2 stall garage was great to get the cars out of the sun. The house is so amazing! Beautifully decorated- so many special thoughtful things. Kitchen was well stocked- Brita pitcher in frig- water was great! Container of Assorted Candy on counter. Beds were comfortable- master bedroom was huge- large closet and walk in shower. 3 bathrooms! Massage chairs in living room with large tv. The deck was great! Chairs there and also off the deck a table with umbrella and chairs. Fire ring with wood provided. Such a lovely place we hated to leave! Kate was great to communicate with. Gave recommendations for directions and where to shop in area. Wonderful experience!!

Hands down the best property I’ve ever rented. Property just as described, only better. Perfect proximity to Glacier National park, with plenty of restaurants and grocery very close. All basics you could possibly want and then some. Owners very easy to communicate with and very friendly. Beautiful yard and property. First evening there, a bear was wandering out of the woods. Exciting for us! Saw dear every day and evening. Place was so clean and beautifully decorated. Plenty of books and games too. Beds very comfortable which is always important. I would definitely recommend for anyone planning to stay in this area!

My wife, son, and I travel with another family with 2 teenage kids. We chose Hillside House due to its location to Glacier National Park and the wonderful reviews. We could not have been more pleased with this great house, the owner who was super helpful, and the location. It was everything we hoped for. It was extremely clean and well kept inside and out. It had everything we needed and then some. We were extremely comfortable. We enjoyed parking the cars in the garage, making smores by the campfire, hiking the trails around the house and seeing the wildlife. The fireplace was nice on cool mornings. We enjoyed making our picnic lunches for the day and used coolers and ice packs that were available. Having so many things available for us to use in the house was a very nice and much appreciated touch. We loved the coffee maker that we set to start early each morning before we headed out to the park. The owner came out to welcome us and offered suggestions for our trip. If we return to the area we will definitely be looking to stay at Hillside House again. We could not have been more pleased!

We stayed for Memorial Day 2024 with 6 adults and 1 infant. It was the perfect space for us to enjoy the weekend. Both the indoor and outdoor spaces were lovely and well kept. It was nice to be able to explore the property and watch hummingbirds. The proximity to the park was very convenient. Host was very communicative. We would definitely book this place for a small group again!

The home had everything a traveler could possibly need. The kitchen was fully stocked, coffee, tea condiments, spices. Even had 1 bedroom set up with toys to keep a child entertained. Now let’s talk about location, literally 8 miles from the West Glacier entrance, doesn’t get much better than that. I could go on and on, bear spray, whistles, coolers, ice packs for the cooler, more linens than you could ever use, great stove, coffee maker, dishwasher and all top of the line appliances. A nice big screen TV to relax at the end of a busy day. Over the top in every way.

There is so much to love about the "Hillside House"! Clean and VERY quiet. The kitchen was well stocked with many extra plates, pots 'n pans, spices, coffee, utensils; excellent newer appliances. There was an great selection of almost new towels. The amazing gas fireplace in living room was so efficient we never used the house heat even when temps were in the 40°s outside. There are beautiful hardwood floors, pleasing decor, games, books, throw pillows. There is excellent internet service - no television but who comes to Montana to watch tv? The grounds were lovely and well maintained. The location, just 1.4 mi. off the main highway is about 10.5 mi. to the West Glacier NP entrance. There are nearby restaurants just east on the main highway and even a little grocery store just west. Our favorite nearby restaurant was Glacier Taphouse and Pizza. Super 1 Foods, a large, modern supermarket, is ~11 mi. west in Columbia Falls, and open 24/7 (thank you Kate!). Nearby towns such as Kalispell and Whitefish are fairly close if you're not exploring the parks. Whitefish has many restaurants and shops, and an iconic working rail depot and museum, plus live theater productions. If you're in Kalispell, we highly recommend touring the Conrad Mansion Museum. Lastly, our communication with our host, Kate, was fantastic! Before, during and at the end of our stay, she was always there for us, responsive, cordial and unobtrusive. Thank you Kate!

We had a small issue with the refrigerator when we first arrived and it was attended to right away.We appreciated the bear spray and cooler that were already in the house, as we did not have to purchase them ourselves. This house was a perfect stay for our family trip to Glacier. The house looked exactly as pictured. We loved sitting on the deck enjoying the quiet mornings and evenings. Even saw a doe and fawn and a hen turkey with her babies. The host, Kate, kept us well informed of the wildfires nearby.

We loved staying at the Hill house in Martin City. It is a great property and well taken care of. Beautiful setting, quiet, and clean. The proximity to Glacier NP is so convenient.

Beyond that, we can’t thank our host, Kate, enough. She took care of all that you’d expect and more. Our battery died in the Glacier and she was nice enough to shuttle our family from the park to the house (twice due to size of vehicle) even making a stop for us to pick up food. We can’t say enough about her and her family. Wonderful people.

The property and house were beautiful and had everything we could need. Just eight miles outside of the west entrance of Glacier National Park, it was a great home base for visiting the park for a few days. Kate was a great host and had lots of recommendations for us. Would definitely stay again!

This house was so well-equipped with everything we needed. The host really goes above and beyond to provide such nice little touches for her renters, right down to little travel-size make-up removers in the bathrooms! Didn’t have to worry about things like toilet paper, paper towels, coffee, soaps, etc. Everything was on hand! Very cute, cozy and clean little place. We even picked and ate some huckleberries from the yard! The days of our stay were so jampacked with hiking that I only wish we had more time to enjoy this sweet space we rented!

The house was bigger and nicer than the pictures show. It was convenient to the west side of Glacier National Park. The beds were super comfortable. The host, Kate, checked in on us, and even showed us how to find huckleberries. The house even.had its own yrails that meander throigh the property. We loved our stay. We had four adults and a 20-month old baby and the house was spacious and comfortable. There were even toys and a child sized rocking chair for the baby - an unexpected bonus! The kitchen was very well stocked with condiments and all of the supplies we needed to prepare meals during our 3-night stay. Kate stopped by to make sure everything was going well and the check-in and check-out process were very easy. I would highly recommend this property.

We really enjoyed our stay. The house was very nice and almost like a cabin in the woods. We had a ground squirrel that liked to make sure we saw him every morning and even saw a pair of new-born fawns with their mom one afternoon after returning on a hike at Glacier. Its really close to the West Entrance, and the kitchen made it really nice to prep for the evening meals and make sandwiches for the next day's events. A few of us took advantage of the small libraries on a rest day and visited in the nice living room. It was nice to listen to the forest from the deck while enjoying the morning coffee. It was a great place to stay and I'll definitely keep it in mind when we plan our next trip. Thanks.

The quietest green space for a getaway. Down a country road, way off the beaten path. This is just what we needed to refresh. Beds were great, we slept like babies. It was so quiet and dark. We loved it. If we ever come back, will definitely stay again.

The house was wonderful and the property owner was great to communicate with. It was 8 miles from the entrance to the national park at West Glacier. The master bedroom bathroom shower was incredible. The house is really comfortable, and clean. The owner provided condiments in the fridge and more importantly bear spray! And there was a drawer full with baggies for sandwiches and reusable containers. A great setting.

If you are wondering how to stay in close proximity to Glacier National Park without having to stay in the park, look no further than Hillside House. I can’t say enough good things about this property! It was the perfect amount of space for our family of four. It is quiet, private and peaceful.
Kate was just awesome to work with, always available to answer all my questions both about the property and the area itself. So, if you are wondering whether or not to book this property, as someone who has stayed here I say go for it! Thank you so much, Kate!
P.S. I live in an area of the country where we have the AC on all the time. At Hillside we were able to open the windows overnight and let in that cool mountain air and smell the fabulous spruce…..that smell is better than any candle :)
