The Casa de Pilatos is an azorean rustic house, isolated, with stunning views of the sea and with plenty of green space outside.
To stay with family or friends, it offers 2 bedrooms with double bed, 1 bedroom with 2 single beds, living room, dining room, kitchen, 3 bathrooms and all the necessary filling to make you feel very comfortable. There is the possibility to be placed an extra bed.
Outside offers many green spaces where you can enjoy the magnificent view of the sea, the mountains and the village of monasteries.
The sunset is breathtaking. To best take advantage of these panoramas have at your disposal a barbecue, hammocks and everything needed to live the garden.
Located outside of the massif of the Seven Cities, the House of Pilate, is 1km from the beach of the Monasteries, 2km from the natural pools of the Monasteries, about 5km from the emblematic Seven Cities Lagoon and the natural pool of hot water, Smithy. The city of Ponta Delgada is a distance of 28km and the airport 25km.

The house is very unique and there are nice touches that show the owner put a lot of thought into making sure guests have a great experience. The finishes throughout the house are high quality. The location was perfect - away from people but close enough to drive down to the town and beach, and the view is incredible. Sometimes it was hard to leave to house to go explore the island.

Casa de Pilatos was beautiful! Mornings with coffee overlooking the ocean, or watching sunsets with a glass of wine - it was the perfect country house. Very peaceful and relaxing, the historic house was charming and spotlessly clean, with modern appliances and baths. We used it as a "home base" and ventured out (after breakfast on the outdoors picnic table every morning) to explore the beautiful island. Heavenly! Alexandra was the perfect host and immediately contacted us when we had a question. Best vacation ever!

The house was spotless and retained the charm of an older house but with wonderful amenities like the master bath and comfortable beds. The swing was not pictured but a great surprise. The serenity and views exceptional. We had a flat tire the night before our very early flight and host responded and helped.

Pictures do not do it justice! It's even better in real life! Three couples easily shared the quaint and cozy villa which was a great home base for our island adventures. Alexandra met us on arrival and was very responsive to our questions and minor hot water/pump issue that was easily (quickly) fixed. Will absolutely stay here again when we return! We had a fantastic time and loved everything about this home and the island!

This home was my favorite spot in all of the Azores. The town of Mosteiros is charming and has incredible scenery. The views from Casa Pilatos are breathtaking. Drinking coffee overlooking the ocean every morning was a great way to start the day. This home is cozy, clean, and well appointed. It is located on top of a cliff overlooking the town, so be prepared for hikes and long walks up and down. You can also drive, but we liked the exercise! The host is responsive and our entire experience was exceptional.

This rustic and historical house oozed the true feeling of living in the Azores. The narrow street kept it very private and quiet and the views were spectacular! The owners have provided a well equipped kitchen and house keeping equipment/ materials. The best part was we arrived late, in the dark, without time to purchase breakfast items, but we walked in and all was provided. It was heavenly! Alexandra did a wonderful job of communicating.đ

This place is incredible! We stayed for the first four nights of our holiday, but I could have stayed a lot longer. I didnât want to give up the view! We appreciated the food waiting for us when we arrived, and the house is even nicer than what you see in the photos. (I wasnât sure what to make of the outdoor bathroom from the photos, but I kind of loved it.) Itâs a bit of a drive from the airport but more than worth it for the house and surroundings.

This property was amazing. The hostess, Ms.Rui, was welcoming to allâincluding children. The house has everything anyone could think of and is a wonderful blend of central location near items of interest along with peace and tranquillity. Our first time to the Azores, but will definitely come back to Pilatos House. Couldnât ask for anything better!

The location of the house is fantastic. The garden was well maintained with wonderful plants. There is a barbecue area, a seating area and loungers.The house was clean and is very well equipped. There are three separate baths and three queen-size bedrooms. Under the roof is one more bedroom with two single-beds.
The next supermarket and the next beaches are in mosteiros (5min by car). The airport in Ponta del Garda is about 40min by car. The communication with the owner was easy and quick. Thanks for visiting the horses âșïž

Nice House, Great View
Casa De Pilatos is a nice traditional Azorean house with updated facilities. It is in a quiet location uphill from the village of Mosteiros. Great view of the village and the coastline from the lounge chairs in the garden. Fantastic sunsets when the weather cooperates. Plenty of room for the 2 of us...the house could easily accommodate more people. The kitchen had everything that we needed to prepare meals. We also enjoyed grilling on the outdoor wood-fired BBQ. Quick 5 minute drive down to the village which has a nice black sand beach & a few restaurants. Also a very scenic spot to walk along the coast. Many of the island's marked hiking trails - including the Sete Cidades Caldeira - are nearby. The manager (Alexandria) is easy to communicate with & very helpful. She met us upon our arrival, and she had laid out a spread of local goodies for us (cheese, fruit, eggs, wine, tea, etc.). Overall - Highly recommended.

Traumhafte Lage mit einem grandiosen Blick ĂŒber das Meer und die Landschaft. Das Haus ist super ausgestattet und ist mit einem schönen Mix aus antiker und moderner Einrichtung ausgestattet. Die Nachbarschaft ist offen und nett.
Alexandra hat uns mit ihrer Familie, trotz unserer turbulenten Anreise, sehr herzlich und mit einem traditionellen Essen begrĂŒsst.
Wir waren mit 6 Personen (Kind, junge Erwachsene, Erwachsene und Senioren) dort und hatten eine sehr schöne Zeit.

Quiet and Cozy
Our stay was absolutely wonderful. Alexandra was very welcoming and provided us with all we needed. She even arranged for treats for our girls ages 8 & 4 for the holiday. If you are looking for a quiet retreat while staying on the island this is your place! Our girls loved the loft bedroom and outdoor space to play. My husband and I loved how clean and comfortable everything was. The kitchen and grilling area are great if you donât want to eat out for every meal. The view is as advertised AMAZING!

Traumhaft !
Ein unglaublich liebevolles Haus in einem groĂartigen Garten und einem unbeschreiblichen Ausblick. Dieses Haus ist absolut zu empfehlen. Ich war schon in vielen HĂ€usern in den letzten 15 Jahren und dieses gehört zu den absolut besten, in denen ich Urlaub gemacht habe. Der Service ist total zuverlĂ€ssig und wohlwollend. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefĂŒhlt. Die Zeit scheint still zu stehen in dieser Umgebung und Entspannung ist garantiert. Restaurants und Einkaufsmöglichkeiten sind in der Umgebung vorhanden. Der Strand in der NĂ€he (Mosteiros) ist sehr schön. Das Dorf selbst voller entspannter und netter Menschen. Die Insel an sich ist traumhaft und kann gerechtfertigt als "Hawai Europas" bezeichnet werden.

Our 4 nights there
It really is a very beautiful place. The views are breathtaking and the road, very steep and bumpy, is quintessential Old World. The actual house is big with plenty of sleeping and a well stocked kitchen. Also, which was nice, was the TV which had satellite for we were able to keep up with the news along with the use of the internet. A few issues: I would suggest you bring other towels. There are towels but they are generally smaller and the washing machine never worked very well, so I suggest you bring one or two towels per person. The bathroom, well there is only one as is indicated on the description of the place, was fine with the exception of the shower. The shower was our nightmare, for it would get cold then scalding hot within seconds...showers were quick or you would freeze or be burned. (In honesty we should have reported this to the manager but did not, this is an issue that should be addressed) All-in-all if you are looking for a view that is breathtaking and a place that is far away from civilization, than Casa de Pilatos is it. I would return again for our family had a most wonderful time, regardless of the shower.
